Aspiring to the Immortal Path

The blue-eyed Fiend God knew that it had fallen for a trap the moment it sensed a True Immortal’s energy.

This was probably a battle that had been set up to draw the fiends of the Divine Spring Domain into Rosecloud, but it had realized this too late.

The blue-eyed Fiend God was a decisive fellow, immediately mustering all its power to break free of Yun Tianlan’s energy lock and shoot into the sky.

“Since you’re already here, you can’t be allowed to leave so easily. Stay where you are!”

As Yun Tianlan spoke, a giant hand descended on the blue-eyed Fiend God.

Seeing its path cut off, the Fiend God had no choice but to turn around and charge at Yun Tianlan, at the same time assuming its original form of a three-eyed toad.

This toad was the size of a mountain, its eyes like bright lamps, and its entire body covered in warts. Despite its ugly appearance, it exuded a grandiose energy. The moment the toad took its original form, it unleashed a croak at Yun Tianlan.

This croak shook the heavens like countless claps of thunder exploding all at once.

The three-eyed toad then spewed out a toxic green gas.

The gas turned the entire region inky green, the poison within which was so toxic that even Yun Tianlan was unwilling to touch it. With a wave of his sleeve, he summoned a wind that kept the gas far away from him.

But a moment later, the poison gas began to move downward and spread in all directions, covering an entire mountain. The trees on the mountains withered, and even the rocks began to crack apart. Wherever it went, all birds and beasts died, their bones rotting to nothing.

The poison gas kept going, spreading its death and decay farther and farther.

Yun Tianlan instantly knew what his foe was up to. The three-eyed toad knew that there was no hope of victory, so it decided that it was going to spread the misery and involve the mortals below. With its Fiend God cultivation, if it really wanted to kill mortals, it could paint the ground red for hundreds of kilometers with a single thought.

Yun Tianlan wouldn’t let this happen, and with a shout, winds came from all sides to seal off the poison gas.

It suddenly raised its body, and its countless warts jumped out and shot at Yun Tianlan.

These warts were the innate Divine Connection of the three-eyed toad, and not even Yun Tianlan dared to underestimate this salvo.

In a flash, countless waves of energy assailed those warts.

But those warts seemed to have minds of their own, automatically dodging as they tore through the air. Each wart grew its own eyes, ears, and mouth, creepily smiling at Yun Tianlan. They then scattered apart, shooting downward from various angles.

“Oh no!” Yun Tianlan shouted, and he hastily summoned more wind to intercept the poisonous warts.

But in the end, it was a lower-level Fiend God, incapable of stopping Yun Tianlan. Yun Tianlan simply raised his left hand, suppressing the toad as if crushing it underneath a giant mountain. At the same time, he extended his right hand, and an immense pressure sealed off the entire area, preventing the warts from escaping and wreaking havoc.

But as he sealed off the space, one of the warts exploded into foul-smelling poison so corrosive that even smelling it made Yun Tianlan feel uncomfortable.

The warts continued to explode, poison flooding the entire area.

This poison contained the essence of the three-eyed toad. Even a True Immortal would die if they were assailed by so much poison.

Usually, Yun Tianlan had many ways to deal with this, but none of those would work here. After all, whether he expelled the poison from the space or attacked the warts, it would simply serve to spread the poison, which would result in countless mortals dying.

The toad inhaled, and its body inflated like a balloon and became extremely elastic.

Yun Tianlan’s palm descended three times, and the toad breathed in three times, each time neutralizing the attacks and healing the damage done. Above were the Gold Ignis Astral Winds, the poison and Astral Winds clashing in torrents of red and green.

The Astral Winds were powerful, but not enough to outmatch the poison of a Fiend God.

But a moment later, the Gold Ignis Astral Winds began to gather and concentrate into a blazing fire. This fire was hundreds of times stronger than the original Astral Winds, capable of burning away the heavens.

The toad’s poison faltered and began to burn away.

The flames also surged into the sealed space, transforming into serpents that devoured the poison and refined it. In a flash, more than half of the poison had been neutralized. The three-eyed toad’s poison was at the Dao-entering level, so there could only be one explanation for it to be so easily neutralized: these fire snakes had to be specifically designed to counter this poison. The only way the toad could counter this would be if it made its poison into a Dao Art.

“‘Just so happen to counter’? Do you think you died because of your bad luck?” Yun Tianlan chuckled. “Idiot! A True Immortal can create their own spell arts and Divine Connections. No matter what trick you have, I can just develop a counter. You really thought you could kill this one with that puny trick? You can keep dreaming from your grave!”

A grandiose energy descended.
