Chapter 207. A gentleman at the pool

Anly and Genevieve stared at the black-haired, blue-eyed fellow with shock on their faces.

Dorian Vance was not weak. He was arrogant most of the time—this was because of his background.

He was one of the young masters of the Iron Vanguard Guild in Sauna City of Waldhar State, within the Iron Empire.

The Iron Vanguard Guild was not a small guild. They had branches across Waldhar State.

However, their headquarters was in Sauna City.

It was owned by the Vance family. The leader of the guild was Malvin Vance, an advanced rank 3 warrior, and Dorian was the second-born of the Vance family.

He had been spoiled from childhood, so it was reasonable that he developed an arrogant demeanor. But he always had the strength and background to back up his arrogance.

He was a genius.

This was the first time they had seen Dorian Vance afraid like that.

They looked at Aiden, who was still enjoying his steak with a calm, serene expression on his face.

This man was the real deal.

With just a single look, he had scared Dorian Vance away.

"If a beginner rank 3 warrior was shooed away like that by him, what will happen if legendary rank 2 warriors like us offend him?" Anly whispered.

"The rumors I heard about him in the queue from the people of the Kahra Desert must be true," Genevieve said.

"What rumors?" Anly asked.

"He slaughtered thousands of expert rank 2 warriors and 7 legendary rank 2 warriors in less than a week after arriving in the Kahra Desert," Genevieve said. "They call him the Lodgekeeper. He’s rumored to have been the most terrifying man across the Kahra Desert."

Anly gasped. "Damn. Considering how he was able to scare Dorian Vance away with just a single look, he must be at least a beginner rank 3 warrior by now."

"Mmm," Genevieve added. "However, I’m afraid that Dorian Vance is quite petty. If this man decides to stay in Waldhar State, he may have to eventually clash with the Iron Vanguard Guild. The head of the Iron Vanguard Guild, Malvin Vance, really dotes on his son after all. Only with a strong backing will he have his peace of mind."

"Indeed." A glint flashed through Anly’s eyes. "Do you remember that there is a vacant professor position at Sauna City University? Why don’t we recommend him?"

"We could... having a rank 3 warrior as an addition to the staff is always a good thing. After all, rank 3 is a chasm that only a few people can cross. Let’s approach him later and put the offer before him. If we are able to recruit him, the university will reward us greatly," Genevieve said.

Aiden could hear everything they were saying from his seat.

Aiden was currently at the pool area of the ship.

It was currently summer. People were in summer clothes as they walked around the place. Most of the gentlemen were in shorts and the ladies here were in bikinis as they roamed around the pool, swam in it, chilled, and had different conversations.

The sound of laughter, flirting, and music reverberated across the place.

Currently, he was in summer shorts, slippers, and a t-shirt. He was wearing blue spectacles as he enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

An orange drink rested on a stand near him. Occasionally, his gaze would leave his phone and he would take a sip of the drink.

"Want to join me, handsome?" A sweet, flirty feminine voice resounded in his ears.

Aiden lowered his glasses politely and looked at the pretty lady.

She was in a bikini, so her busty figure was on full display.

Aiden smiled. "Thanks for the offer, ma’am, but I’ll politely pass."

The woman was quite surprised. With her beauty, someone had really rejected an offer to spend some "alone" time with her?

Flabbergasted, she turned around and returned to join her group of friends.

Aiden adjusted his glasses back to their normal position and continued reading his novel.

Meanwhile, in the lady’s circle, her friends were laughing at her.

"See? I told you the handsome dude will reject you."

"Yeah, we faced the same situation. What a weird fellow."

"Yeah, I’m honestly surprised. Usually, guys are the ones to approach us, but to think he would reject us... But he was such a gentleman about it. What a nice man."

Several dudes from the group snorted.

They were all students of Sauna City University who had visited the Drax Empire with their professors for an exchange event.

Some of them had been trying to hit on these three ladies for a while now, but none of them had given them any attention.

The ladies had friend-zoned them, spouting bullshit that they don’t want a relationship with either of the gentlemen to ruin their friendship.

But these ladies were daydreaming about the black-haired bastard laying over there like a bunch of crazy fangirls.

They could not help but shoot death glares at the lucky bastard who actually had the guts to reject all the ladies.

"Tsk... What’s so special about him?"

"Yeah, give it a break."

"You are stuck with the rest of us. Might as well make the most of it, eeh?"

The gentlemen started talking, trying to convince them to spend time with them.

"You only live once, I guess..."

"But when we return to campus, we are back to being friends. Whatever happens on this ship stays on this ship."

"Yeah, we just want to have some fun. If any of you guys try to make a big deal out of it..."

The ladies replied.

"We won’t..."

"At your service..."

"Hallelujah..."

Expressions of glee appeared on the faces of the gentlemen.

Just when they were about to turn around and visit their suites to have some alone time with each of the ladies, they saw two of their professors appear at the pool area.
