Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 199. Walking into a slaughterhouse 2.

Kali’s group of men, all expert rank 2 warriors, clad in their battlesuits, followed him into the air, forming affinity wings on their backs with their affinities.

They numbered 700.

The residents of MadCity watched everything with varying expressions.

This lineup was too serious.

Why was the city Lord so relaxed?

And what was his dressing?

A veteran legendary rank 2 warrior was about to attack him. The man also had an entourage of powerful expert rank 2 warriors with him.

And yet... he had appeared here in slippers, a t-shirt, and summer shorts?

This was simply too ridiculous.

"I suppose you are here to surrender," Kali said. The whirlwind twirled beneath his feet. He flapped the wind wings on his back as he neared the lodgekeeper.

The lodgekeeper stared at him with a calm, unbothered expression.

Kali continued.

"Smart. I can make you my vice commander if you join my ranks. But if you resist, I will hang your head on a pole for everyone to see. MadCity is mine anyway."

"Time to harvest their blood essence. The others are also near. Let’s make this quick. It’s been a while since I got some sleep," Aiden thought.

He was not even listening to Kali.

Aiden’s microscopic crimson blades shot towards Kali’s men. The microscopic blades sliced through their necks, cleaved through flesh and bone, and appeared behind them.

Puchi... puchi...

The men could not even register the pain of death.

They could not even scream.

As for those watching from the city walls and those watching on their phones, all they saw was that Kali’s men ceased moving. Their affinity wings disappeared.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then,

Pssstttt...

Blood splurged from their necks and sprayed all over the place.

Their heads slid off their bodies and rolled to a stop on the sand.

Expressions of puzzlement and terror were on their faces.

Dull thuds resounded across the place as their bodies fell like crushing meteors onto the sand.

The rumors were true. The lodgekeeper could kill people without moving a muscle.

No attack seen. No affinity revealed. His hands were still in his pockets as he floated above the sand.

And yet...

700 expert rank 2 warriors were dead.

Kali turned.

He looked at the ground. He saw the corpses.

He widened his eyes.

How?

When did he attack?

Suddenly, he held his neck.

Blood splurged out of his mouth.

He turned to look at the lodgekeeper.

"Am I dying?" he muttered.

"How is this possible? I’m a veteran at legendary rank 2. So how..." He could not process what was happening.

When he looked at the lodgekeeper, it hit him.

"You are not weak. This was what I missed. Beasts didn’t kill Feywater and his men. It was you??"

The lodgekeeper didn’t reply.

But the audience widened their eyes.

He had already killed city Lord Feywater and his men?

How chilling...

"Your silence says it all. Everything was a trap from the beginning. You used yourself as bait. This was why you openly revealed yourself after luring Madmax into a trap. You used the MadCity surveillance footage of Madmax death as publicity to paint yourself as a target. You made me, and the six city lords of the neighboring cities think you were a weakling who could not keep the city. Knowing that we will be greedy and come for you, you anticipated our arrival. This is why you were waiting for us when we arrived. How terrifying. I’ve been played."

Kali stared at the lodgekeeper one last time as his eyes dimmed.

"From the beginning, we were all chess pieces on your board. Lodgekeeper."

His head slid off cleanly from his neck.

He had an expression of resignation, fear, and puzzlement on his dead face.

His body fell close to his head with a dull thud.

The residents of MadCity listened to everything with expressions of shock on their faces.

They clearly heard the final words of Kali.

The lodgekeeper was indeed terrifying.

To think he would manipulate everyone of the six city lords...

They thought they were here to kill him... but he had actually moved them like chess pieces on his board here?

Now, two of them were dead...

Would the remaining four meet the same fate...

"Why don’t you reveal yourselves," the audience heard the lodgekeeper speak politely.

Suddenly, Draven, Markoff, Malakor, and Zenon revealed themselves.

They had been hiding in the vicinity with legendary rank 2 invisibility bracelets.

They were shocked that the lodgekeeper had seen them.

Aiden saw the expressions of shock on their faces.

He technically didn’t see them. But he smelled their presence with his sense of smell. Every human had a distinct smell on them. And because of his enhanced smell, he was able to locate them. The invisibility bracelets could mask their aura and presence, but not their smell.

The four of them looked at him with shock, under the flabbergasted gazes of their men, who had also revealed themselves, and the shocked expressions of the MadCity residents.

They had arrived during the time the lodgekeeper was killing Kali.

Kali and Feywater were stronger than the four of them combined. However, the advantage the four of them had was that their manpower was more established and stronger than that of Feywater and Kali. This gave the six of them balance. So, they could not attack each other’s territories.

However, if Feywater and Kali were to engage in a battle with them, they would be killed.

But, from Kali’s words before he died, this man had already killed Feywater.

Also, they saw the corpses of Kali’s men and the armored destroyed vehicles and corpses far off in the distance.

Since that was the case, this man was not weak. He could kill all of them.

When they all arrived here, they decided to equip invisibility bracelets and sneak up on him after coming to this realization. None of them knew that their rivals were hiding in plain sight.

But to think this man would identify all of them at the same time.

They also heard Kali’s words about the lodgekeeper manipulating them to come here.

From Kali’s words, they had understood that he had deliberately manipulated them into coming here.

Their thoughts, their decisions, he had anticipated it all without knowing them, and steered them in the direction he wanted.

He was not some weakling they could kill.

He was a terrifying person who didn’t want to go through the trouble of visiting their territories to deal with them.

He wanted them all to be in one place so that he could kill them all in one go.

They had been wrong. Absolutely wrong.

This man was not a newbie legendary rank 2.

He was a slumbering predator. They even assumed he was the most terrifying legendary rank 2 warrior they had ever met.

They had miscalculated.

They could only apologize to the senior and flee with their tail between their legs.

Thud... thud... thud... thud...

Knees hit sand and heads hit the floor.

"Senior, we are completely at fault for being impulsive and greedy. If the senior permits it, we will leave MadCity and never return to your territory again," Zenon bowed her head with a shaky voice.

She had never felt so stupid in her life. To think she had looked down on this senior. But could she be blamed? Who could have anticipated that this man was such a monster.

"Senior, we apologize for intruding on your business. Please forgive us," Draven said, head bowed. Why did he let his greed cloud his judgment? No... he was not at fault. There was no way he could have anticipated a situation like this. The person they were dealing with had played them like chess pieces. He was an anomaly.

"Senior, if you permit us to leave, we won’t bother you anymore," Malakor added, voice trembling. He could not even think. All he wanted to do was leave here and never return.

"Senior, please, have mercy on us and let us off... these juniors were short-sighted..." Markoff added.

He actually thought he could take over MadCity a few hours ago? How naive he was.

The place was completely silent.

Their men were trembling.

What were they seeing?

Their lords, strong and undefeatable, who had marched here with vigor and justifiable arrogance, were currently cowering in fear and apologizing to a man in slippers, t-shirts, and summer shorts.

This man looked extremely ordinary.

But at the moment, he looked like a wall they could never leap over.

The residents of MadCity were silent.

Everyone was too shocked to process what they were witnessing.
