Chapter 2117: Supreme Guardian

Tang Shaoyang was not the only one who found out about the old man’s cultivation; the Murim Alliance did as well. They all paled as the pressure exerted by the old man crashed down.

“I don’t remember having a rude subordinate like you!” The old man who had just come seemed to sense the detection. He turned toward Tang Shaoyang, squinting his eyes.

The old man sent his internal energy to Tang Shaoyang to probe his cultivation. He was surprised because his internal energy just disappeared when it reached the man. He tried to confirm whether Tang Shaoyang was part of the Heaven Founder or not.

As a Supreme Guardian, he was not in charge of the recruitment. He didn’t even remember all the faces of the twelve Guardians under him. But he didn’t remember there was a guardian as strong as this man.

“That’s because I am not your subordinate. Are you Supreme Guardian Kong or Duan?”

Tang Shaoyang guessed that this old man was a Supreme Guardian. That was the only explanation for someone this powerful appearing in this attack. He came with the Heaven Founder just to make him more confident that the old man was the Supreme Guardian.

Their Supreme Leader or lord would not come this early. This was too early for the main character of the war to appear.

“You seem more knowledgeable about us than the Murim Alliance. Who are you?” The old man was surprised again.

Even the Murim Alliance didn’t know about them. Even if they had information about the Heaven Founder, they didn’t know its structure.

This man had insider information about the Heaven Founder. Not just did this man know about his position, but this man also knew his status.

The conversation was interrupted as a body flew into the venue and crashed into the arena. Another figure flew into the venue, and he was the Head of the Dongfang Family.

Dongfang Jinhai didn’t chase after the body that had just crashed into the arena. He flew next to the Supreme Guardian and bowed his head.

“I have taken care of the traitor for you, Supreme Guardian Kong.”

Tang Shaoyang was surprised, but it did not really catch him off guard. From his perspective, this was something someone like Dongfang Jinhai would do.

However, it was different for the other people who came from the Murim Alliance. They were shocked to find out that Dongfang Jinhai was on the attacker’s side.

“Traitor?” Supreme Guardian Kong sounded surprised, but that might explain why this unknown man knew something about the Heaven Founder.

A figure emerged from the rubble and dust of the arena. Supreme Guardian Kong turned toward the arena when Dongfang Jinhai gestured toward the arena with his head.

It was Supreme Guardian Kong who was surprised because he saw someone who was supposed to be dead. He sent this woman on a mission when someone took the trial to the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

The mission was to retrieve the Grandmaster Codex because they had sent so many people to take the trial. However, the trial seemed to recognize that they were part of a force in the Sacred Realm. They had sent more than a thousand, and they all failed.

The Heaven Founder gave up on it and set up a formation to detect whether someone was taking the trial instead. The plan was to rope in this successor or maybe take the Grandmaster Codex.

Since the first group they sent to check up on this was killed, he figured out that he needed to send a Guardian to retrieve the codex. But he miscalculated and got the said Guardian killed.

It was never his intention to kill Guardian Ouyang Biya. To him, it was just natural for Ouyang Biya to do a lot more work since she received more resources than the other Guardians. It was not his intention to send Ouyang Biya to her death.

He was shocked to find out she didn’t die. On top of that, she betrayed the Heaven Founder who had raised and nurtured her.

“You! You ungrateful whore! How dare you betray the Heaven Founder who has been raising and nurturing you!?” Supreme Guardian Kong bellowed.

He was genuinely furious as he released his aura that created a massive pressure on everyone in the venue.

The surviving people from the Murim Alliance fell on their knees under the massive pressure on them. This was the power behind the late-stage True God Realm.

However, that pressure didn’t affect Ouyang Biya. She didn’t even feel the pressure, but she was not aware of the pressure since she was fixated on Dongfang Jinhai.

“Betray? How could you say that after you sent me to my death? Didn’t the Soul Candle tell you what happened to me? You still think I betrayed the Heaven Founder?”

Ouyang Biya’s robe was full of cuts, revealing the milky white skin underneath. Blood flowed from the corner of her mouth. Despite having more internal energy than her opponent, she was losing. That was something that Tang Shaoyang predicted.

Supreme Guardian Kong frowned, realizing that she was right. The Soul Candle went off, not snapped in half. If the candle snapped, that meant Ouyang Biya broke free from the Soul Candle. But the candle went out, meaning the person connected to that candle was dead.

“I am just a vengeful spirit who wishes for revenge. And what’s the meaning of this, Supreme Guardian Kong? I don’t know if the Dongfang Family is on our side. You should be aware that my goal in joining the Heaven Founder is to destroy the Dongfang Family. Doesn’t this mean the Heaven Founder betrayed me first?”

The one who answered was Dongfang Jinhai. He was telling Ouyang Biya that he would change his family into something else. That was what he meant by the Dongfang Family would disappear.

“But since you died, I don’t think I need to do that anymore. Wait, let me correct it. Since you betrayed the Heaven Founder, I don’t need to do that anymore, right, Supreme Guardian Kong?”

“That’s right. I don’t care about your situation; whether you are a vengeful spirit or alive, you have betrayed the Heaven Founder by leaking information about us to that man. You have betrayed the Heaven Founder, and I despise traitors the most. I will end you right here and right now!”

A white sword appeared in Supreme Guardian Kong’s hand. Dark, vicious energy shrouded the sword right away, swirling around it. At the same time, the pressure got stronger as the people with lower cultivation passed out while releasing foam from their mouths.

Supreme Guardian Kong’s figure blurred and appeared in front of Ouyang Biya. It almost looked like a teleportation, but it was not. He moved so fast that it looked like teleportation.

When her vision returned, she realized that she was standing on the spectator seat. Avyn and Zara were next to her. That was when she realized that she had switched places with Tang Shaoyang.

Tang Shaoyang caught the sword between his fingers as the vicious energy exploded at the same time. However, that energy quickly dissipated as Tang Shaoyang used his Absolute Domination Energy.

“I can’t let you kill my guide. That will trouble me, really.”

Supreme Guardian Kong’s eyes widened in shock, not expecting his sword to be stopped this easily. He was about to say something, but that was when his senses picked up an extreme danger.

That was when Supreme Guardian Kong realized that he was surrounded by hundreds of dark-red blades. His figure blurred as the blade swarmed him.

“Dongfang Jinhai! Kill the traitor before she leaks more information about us!”

The Supreme Guardian flew toward the sky and dodged the danger. At the same time, he ordered Dongfang Jinhai to kill her. He would do his best to pull this mysterious man away from Ouyang Biya.

Dongfang Jinhai hesitated for a moment, worried about the two women who stood next to Ouyang Biya. They looked so calm while witnessing all the fighting. As if they had seen something more terrifying than a fight between the True God Realm.

Dongfang Jinhai was about to make his move until two figures reappeared in the sky not far from him. That shocked him as he immediately moved away, moving toward Supreme Guardian Kong.

Dongfang Jinhai and Supreme Guardian Kong recognized one of them. They recognized the person who looked half-dead. He was Guardian Dai, the first one to storm into the venue.

It took a moment for Dongfang Jinhai to recognize the other one. He remembered that someone from the mysterious group brought Guardian Dai away earlier. He forgot about it because he was busy with Ouyang Biya.
