Are There Only Demonesses Left in the Cultivation Realm?
Chapter 156 - 119: Qiu Yuehan Wants to Learn the Sword
Chapter 156: Chapter 119: Qiu Yuehan Wants to Learn the Sword
The Moon Fairy tossed a bulging pouch over. "I want them now."
"Oh, you can just come pick them up later!"
Qiu Yuehan nodded... but she seemed to want to say something, yet couldn’t bring herself to.
The female shopkeeper didn’t dare to be neglectful. "If you have any requests, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll even give you a ten percent discount."
But the Moon Fairy still just hemmed and hawed.
After a long moment.
The shopkeeper asked tentatively, "Are the clothes a little... too long?"
Qiu Yuehan breathed a sigh of relief. "They drag on the floor a bit."
But when she looked down, the shopkeeper thought the clothes fit perfectly. She knew full well what these Fairies were after; this sort of thing wasn’t uncommon.
"In that case, shall I hem them to here?"
She gestured to her calf.
Qiu Yuehan tilted her head and drew a line higher up. At that length, the better part of her shapely legs would be exposed.
The shopkeeper exclaimed in surprise, "If you let others see... Well, whatever you say."
"Just like that. I’ll wear it for sword practice. Shorter... is more breathable."
Right. Breathable.
The shopkeeper gave a suggestive smile. "If it’s for breathability, how about we add a slit up the side, laced up with a cord? That would make it even *more* breathable."
Seeing Qiu Yuehan remain silent, the shopkeeper grew a little nervous. She was just about to speak when she saw the Fairy turn to leave.
"I’ll... be back for them later. Add the... slit. That’s all. Don’t add a slit to the second one, and don’t shorten it."
’Understood, understood.’
She only wanted one outfit for practice. The other was for daily wear, a spare to change into.
The Fairy quickly vanished into the wind and snow.
’She didn’t know what had come over her, her mind filled with all sorts of strange thoughts. Especially after seeing how intimate Lu Changyuan and Xia Lianxue were, she had felt so stifled. The dress... the dress in her dreams had been even shorter!’
’This was it!’
Qiu Yuehan walked down the bustling street. A festive atmosphere already permeated the Mortal Dynasty, with vendors lining the roads selling all sorts of roasted snacks and treats.
’This is the Mortal World.’
She couldn’t help but think so.
She hadn’t been part of the Human Race before. Later, during her Cultivation at Miao Yu Palace, she had been far removed from the mortal realm. It wasn’t until now, at her current age, that she was finally experiencing the warmth of the Mortal World.
"Hm?"
Qiu Yuehan looked into the distance, confused. An argument had broken out just around a nearby corner.
"The price we’re offering is already very high. Don’t push your luck." The speaker was a Cyan-robed Cultivator.
’A Cultivator.’
This Mortal Dynasty was under the protection of the Daoist Sect, and while there were quite a few Cultivators around, most lived quietly. They never flaunted their strength, let alone bullied mortals, and were generally so unassuming they might as well have been locals.
Today was an exception. The Cyan-robed Cultivator was on the verge of using a Spell, apparently trying to forcibly buy something from the shopkeeper in front of him.
’Bullying mortals right under the Daoist Sect’s nose? Does he have a death wish?’
Qiu Yuehan walked over, her pretty face frosty. "What’s going on?"
Only then did she realize it was an antique shop, filled with jade carvings and porcelain. The owner was a kind-looking old man with a white beard.
When the antique shop owner saw Qiu Yuehan, it was as if he’d seen his savior. He quickly asked, "Are you an Immortal from the Daoist Sect?"
Qiu Yuehan replied coolly, "I suppose so."
"Immortal of the Daoist Sect, you must help me! They’re trying to force me to sell them something."
The white-bearded old man pointed to the item. "I found this a few years back. It’s incredibly hard, so I just use it as a decoration in the shop."
Inside a Glazed cabinet lay a small, pitch-black stone that emitted a faint, ghostly glow.
Qiu Yuehan shook her head. "You don’t want to sell it, correct?"
"That’s right."
Qiu Yuehan turned to the Cyan-robed Cultivator. "He doesn’t want to sell. Leave, or fight me."
The Cyan-robed Cultivator flinched. He was only in the Third Realm and couldn’t even withstand Qiu Yuehan’s aura. He had no choice but to slink away in defeat.
Only then did the antique shop owner breathe a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Fairy."
Qiu Yuehan glanced at the black stone. "Just keep this thing safe."
The antique shop owner nodded and retrieved the bone. He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Fairy... if you want it, you can take this little thing. I won’t charge a coin. The Daoist Sect’s protection all these years..."
"There’s no need."
Qiu Yuehan waved her hand dismissively, her fair wrist even whiter than the snow.
The antique shop owner asked hurriedly, "Do you know what this is?"
"It’s the bone of a very powerful creature. Your piece has no life force left in it. At best, it could be used to forge some Magical Artifacts, but it’s not of any great use."
Qiu Yuehan turned to leave without a backward glance.
"In that case, rather than let that man keep coveting it... it’s better if I give it to you, Fairy. Please, take it as a token of my gratitude for the Immortal Sect’s protection over the years."
Qiu Yuehan paused. With a sigh, she turned back, took out a few Elixirs, and handed them to the old man.
She didn’t understand. Why wouldn’t he sell when someone else wanted to buy it, but now that she had refused it, the old man was insisting on giving it to her?
’Whatever.’
’The mortal world is full of strange things.’
Qiu Yuehan didn’t particularly value this bone. She wasn’t short on weapons, and more importantly, she couldn’t sense any Thought from it. She was simply wondering...
’Why would a bone like this appear here?’
Although she had not yet taken full control of the Path of Death, Qiu Yuehan could glimpse a creature’s living appearance from its mortal remains.
That was no ordinary creature’s bone.
It was a dragon’s bone.
Through some resonance, Qiu Yuehan could even hear the dragon’s soul-shaking roar from when it was alive.
But in Qiu Yuehan’s current memories...
...dragons had never appeared in the Cultivation Realm. At least, not for the last ten thousand years.
Legends of dragons, however, had always persisted. One even claimed that the sun in the sky had once been a dragon.
Qiu Yuehan suddenly felt a headache. It was a sign of her fragmented memories.
’Dragons... did they really exist?’
The Nether Monarch’s memories were too ancient and vast; they could only resurface bit by bit. Right now, Qiu Yuehan couldn’t remember if the Dragon Race had truly existed back in Ancient Times.
’There’s no rush, though.’
Qiu Yuehan rubbed the bridge of her nose and gazed out at the Mortal Dynasty. She was growing more and more fond of the Red Dust.
Once the sky grew dark, she returned to the shop entrance and, amidst the owner’s complaints—"Fairy, what took you so long?"—picked up her new clothes.
In two days, Qiu Yuehan planned to find Lu Changyuan to learn about the sword.
She had learned the Four Seasons Sword Technique, she had learned A Sword from the West, and she had even learned the Supreme Pure Spirit Forget Immortal Technique.
But she hadn’t learned the Magic of the Red Dust Sword Dao.
So, she planned to seek out Lu Changyuan to discuss it.
Mhm.
’Discuss it while wearing her new clothes.’
’Training makes one warm, so there’s nothing wrong with wearing a little less.’
With Yu’s mark in her hand, Qiu Yuehan felt that everything was within her control.
