Arceus's Pirate Journey
Chapter 1175: More Harm Than Good
Chapter 1175 -1156: More Harm Than Good
Zou is only that big, and there are only a few people who manage it.
In the history of the Fluffy Kingdom, there is no tradition of hereditary succession. Their royal succession is more like a unique abdication system, where the current Duke finds a suitable successor, who must be quite strong.
Then, under the witness of the citizens, the successor becomes the new king. In such a situation, the residents of the Fluffy Kingdom lack awareness of princes or princesses.
Not to mention, the previous Hichugiskhan was a perennial bachelor.
Yet Setsuna set many new records, with many things stemming from Arceus, but as the current Duke of Zou, these things were still attributed to her.
The first King of Zou who could communicate with the Elephant Lord, and the first female Duke.
Brought the greatest change to Zou in hundreds of years, second only to the historical event of the Fur Race moving entirely to live on the Elephant Lord’s back.
She is also the successor that Hichugiskhan finds most troublesome, a series of titles along with Miaona and Wolf frequently hanging out in Zou, boosting the siblings’ renown. Their silver-white fur is quite rare in Zou.
Although Zou doesn’t have the concept of hereditary succession, it’s directly related to past Dukes of Zou not nurturing the next generation.
Setsuna’s reputation is too high, so a peer successor cannot appear in a short period.
Among the youth, Miaona and Wolf, as the “Psychics” of the Fur Race, have already shown their advantages.
If their training and learning continue without mishaps, they will be the most capable fighters among the young Fur Race, fulfilling the new Duke’s basic requirement.
Since they are Setsuna’s children, the prestige issue can also be resolved. If this fur color continues to be passed down, there might eventually be legends of a silver bloodline left in Zou.
Aura Power and the Power of Thunder have hereditary possibilities, making them extraordinary as “Psychics,” but this is just a higher starting point; other matters still require individual efforts.
Under Pedro’s guidance, their Moon Lion training is also going smoothly, with no one unable to control this form due to excessive wildness, making them leaders among Zou’s young people.
Even when in Zou, they are the genuine kingpins among the kids. Even those entirely uninterested in politics are curious whom their child is playing with.
Unless it’s a newly born child or an elderly person with dementia who can’t recall faces, there’s no way the Fur Race of Zou wouldn’t recognize them.
Only the Fur Race who grew up at the foot of a mountain in some offshore area might not recognize them.
This type of Fur Race is rare but not extinct, with a few every few years drifting outside, and eventually in offshore areas, some Fur Race can be found, like Zeraora is such an example, at least for his public image.
Also, there’s Pekoms, who went to sea at a young age and then stayed offshore, never returning to Zou, so he’s unfamiliar with Miaona and Wolf, having hardly seen them several times.
The identity of a member of the BIG MOM Pirates makes it hard for him to frequently enter and exit Hundred Beasts’ territory, as they haven’t reached the point of mutual visa exemption.
The identity with the Lindeberg Revolutionary Army doesn’t have such concerns, and Lindeberg occasionally returns.
If one encounters a stray Fur Race offshore who’s unrecognized, that’s still reasonable.
But here in Wano Kuni, Fur Race similar to Pekoms wouldn’t appear silently.
No matter how you think about it, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi seem strange to Wolf and Miaona, and on top of that, they’re completely unaware of the current rules in Wano Kuni, casually damaging the trees.
Their abnormal actions make Miaona and Wolf question these two’s identities, and even for them, when lighting fires, they do so near a riverside stone beach, with a bear dressed nearby.
In case of an accident, the bear dressed can demonstrate some fancy fire extinguishing methods.
“Raizo, that guy… is this what he calls ‘no one nearby’?”
Compared to Nekomamushi, Inuarashi usually thinks more comprehensively; they are chopping down trees but without intentionally making loud noises, and if far away, it’s impossible to notice.
Being discovered means they were originally not far away, thus making Raizo’s prior scouting pointless as he failed to spot those right under his nose.
In a sense, this is a communication gap issue; the capabilities of Kozuki Oden’s household attendants were uneven.
While Raizo was searching the surroundings, he indeed didn’t see any pirates but ignored the bonfire by the river.
Back then, Melo was in the water fishing, and as a half-Mermaid, she could breathe underwater without surfacing; Wolf’s head was above water, but with the Fur Race’s characteristics…
If distant, when only a side view is visible without arms or clothing exposed, it’s somewhat challenging to determine whether it’s a beast or a Fur Race.
As for Miaona, she was a fishing enthusiast at the time.
For a fishing enthusiast, the terrain is very important; a suitable spot can keep an angler excited all day.
This camping site was discovered last year, with a spoon-shaped stone by the river, where Miaona was positioned inside, wearing a ghillie-like outfit made of vines and leaves.
Raizo’s attention was all on the adult pirates, ultimately leading to this major oversight.
“Inuarashi, stop worrying about a bunch of kids, let’s get to work.”
“Foolish cat! Use your brain! This is Wano Kuni, would ordinary Fur Race appear here?!”
The two drifted here due to a shipwreck accident, and in the last 20 years, this place has become Hundred Beasts’ territory, making it even less likely for unfamiliar Fur Race to appear here.
“You stupid dog, who are you calling dumb?”
“I’m talking about you. Don’t argue at a time like this; the real trouble is right in front of us.”
Inuarashi’s gaze focused more on Wolf; both had wolf fur and white hair, but the gender difference made him quite different from Setsuna, though there were some similarities.
Twenty years ago, Inuarashi remembered Setsuna being deeply in love; now, 20 years later, it wasn’t surprising she had children of her own.
If they led the enemy here, the trouble would be huge.
“Lord Momonosuke, please hide for now. We’ll handle the situation here as quickly as possible.”
Momonosuke’s whereabouts must not be discovered. Somehow, before leaving, they must at least control these two children to prevent them from bringing other enemies here.
Inuarashi whispered instructions to Momonosuke behind him and then moved to level with Nekomamushi, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“What are you doing? Aren’t we supposed to control them?”
“Don’t be hasty; they’re just kids. There might be a better way…”
If they took action, it might cause even more commotion. Even if they were just two kids, if their cries were heard by others, it could trigger a search.
“You must be Setsuna’s children. Don’t misunderstand; we’re not bad people.”
It was a familiar tactic for deceiving kids. Inuarashi wasn’t certain about Miaona and Wolf’s true identities; he was just guessing based on his knowledge. After all, from what he knew, the only Fur Race member who could appear in Wano Kuni was Setsuna.
This was already the most plausible guess, and Wolf and Miaona’s reactions indicated he was right.
“You know mom?”
“Yes, we know her.”
“What’s your relationship?”
Many people knew Setsuna; even seeing from hundreds of meters away at the coronation ceremony counted as knowing.
Miaona and Wolf were unaware of the so-called prophecy of the Kozuki Family 20 years ago. They came here not because of Momonosuke but because they broke the rules here.
If Inuarashi were truly familiar with Setsuna, he shouldn’t have violated the rules here.
Besides, Wolf thought anyone truly close to Setsuna wouldn’t fail to recognize him at first sight; Nekomamushi’s words were unreasonable.
“We are…”
Inuarashi was contemplating an appropriate relationship, but just then, Nekomamushi disrupted his plan again.
“We are friends.”
Friends—perhaps many years ago, this was true, but ever since joining different factions, that relationship had faded.
Inuarashi and Setsuna still had a bit of a relationship left. Nekomamushi didn’t deserve that term.
The most crucial point was that they were too young.
Having traveled through time over 20 years, they were only 20 years old now. At this age, claiming to be Setsuna’s friends, Wolf and Miaona simply didn’t believe it.
Inuarashi hesitated because of this, while Nekomamushi didn’t think thoroughly. Having spent much time traveling, Nekomamushi was not sensitive to time, thus directly uttered a word likely to expose them.
Upon hearing Nekomamushi speak, Inuarashi regretted not directly shutting his mouth, but at that moment, he couldn’t dismantle Nekomamushi’s story and had to try to cover for him.
However, words once spoken are like water spilled; there’s no recovering it. After Nekomamushi said this term, Miaona and Wolf’s expressions turned serious again, and Inuarashi even saw them exchange glances.
“Take action, capture these two! You silly cat, next time keep your mouth shut!”
Inuarashi’s heart tightened; to prevent accidents, he had no choice but to act, while also shouting at Nekomamushi.
Although impetuous and sometimes thoughtless, Nekomamushi’s combat instincts remained; his rapport with Inuarashi was decent. Hearing Inuarashi, he didn’t waste words, following him to charge forward.
At that moment, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi made their biggest mistake—they underestimated their own strength.
Indeed, they were only facing two 12-year-olds, but they were 20 years behind in cultivation due to missed years. Capturing Miaona and Wolf like ordinary kids was simply impossible.
“Roar!!”
Setsuna and Zeraora’s educational approach differed greatly from Mandfeish’s. They emphasized martial might for their children, and after years of training, the pair developed decent combat instincts.
As Inuarashi and Nekomamushi moved, Wolf and Miaona completed their own transformations.
The silver-white wolf became a red-and-white tiger being, and their arms blocked Nekomamushi’s flying tackle…
