Apocalypse: Rebirth With An Infinite Storage System
Chapter 324: Oscar watch out!!!
Oscar stumbled backward when he finally noticed the frightening redness spreading across Edward’s eyes. What had initially appeared to be ordinary irritation was quickly becoming something far more disturbing. Edward’s eyes were no longer merely bloodshot; there was something unsettling about the way the redness seemed to spread, making his gaze appear increasingly unnatural.
“What’s happening to you?” Oscar asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He stared at his friend in disbelief, struggling to understand what he was seeing. “Edward, why are your eyes like that? Are you feeling sick?”
“They’re red because I’ve been crying too much!” Edward snapped, immediately attempting to wipe the blood from his nose. His voice was unusually sharp, and the panic in his eyes became more obvious with every passing second.
“And the blood is probably because of stress, Oscar! Stop looking at me like I’m some kind of monster!” he barked, glaring at his friend as though Oscar had deliberately done something to offend him.
But no matter how many times he wiped his nose, the blood continued to trickle down.
Edward’s expression gradually changed as he realized that his explanation wasn’t convincing anyone. He tried pressing his fingers beneath his nose to stop the bleeding, but the warm liquid continued to seep through them.
His breathing grew heavier, and his face twisted into an expression of discomfort. He pressed a hand against his chest, staggering slightly as an unfamiliar sensation spread throughout his body.
“Oh, my goodness!” he gasped, his voice suddenly becoming weaker. “I feel terrible. I’m so hot!”
He tugged at the collar of his shirt, desperately trying to get some air as though the room had suddenly become unbearably hot. Sweat began to gather on his forehead, and his body trembled as he struggled to remain standing.
He looked around frantically, his gaze moving from one student to another as though searching for someone who could explain what was happening to him.
“We should all get out of here!” he blurted out, trying desperately to maintain his composure. “We can’t stay here any longer. We should leave before something happens! Don’t you all agree?”
His words came out hurriedly, and he appeared increasingly desperate to get away from the place. Even he seemed unable to understand why he suddenly felt so uncomfortable, but the growing fear in his chest told him that something was terribly wrong.
Crack!
Another sharp cracking sound rang out.
This time, it was loud enough for even the other students to hear.
Ivy expression darkened as she watched Edward’s body begin to convulse. Beneath his clothes, his bones were shifting at an unnatural speed, rearranging themselves to accommodate the monstrous creature struggling to emerge from within him.
Edward’s fingers twitched violently, and his shoulders jerked as though an invisible force were pulling his body apart from the inside. His knees nearly buckled beneath him, forcing him to stagger sideways as he struggled to maintain his balance.
His eyes widened in horror.
“N…No… What’s happening to me?” he whispered, his voice trembling uncontrollably.
He looked down at his hands, watching helplessly as his fingers began to twitch again. His breathing became erratic, and he tried to take another step backward, but his legs seemed unwilling to obey him.
“Edward?” Oscar called out hesitantly, his face pale with fear. He took a cautious step toward his friend, still struggling to accept that something was seriously wrong. “Edward, are you okay? What’s happening to you?”
“Stay away from him!” Ivy suddenly barked, her voice cutting through the room.
Her sudden shout startled the students, several of whom turned toward her in confusion. However, before they could ask what was happening, Edward let out a low, guttural growl that sent a chill down their spines.
The sound was nothing like a human groan of pain.
It was the growl of a monster.
“Edward?” Oscar whispered again, his voice breaking as he stared at his friend.
However, the students were too stunned to react immediately.
Some stared at Edward in confusion, while others instinctively moved closer to him, unable to accept that the friend they had been defending moments earlier could actually be turning into a monster.
Ivy’s hand moved toward her weapon as she watched Edward’s transformation accelerate. Her gaze remained fixed on him, her expression hardening as she assessed the situation as Edward body jerked violently, and his mouth opened wide to the back of his head and he suddenly lunged toward Oscar.
“Oscar, watch out!” someone screamed.
Bang!!!
A gunshot rang out, shattering the terrified silence.
Ivy fired directly at Edward’s head, killing him before he could complete his transformation and sink his teeth into Oscar’s neck.
The bullet struck its target, and Edward’s body jerked before collapsing to the ground. Blood splattered across the floor as his movements came to an abrupt halt.
For a moment, nobody moved.
The students, including Oscar himself, fell to the ground amid Edward’s blood, their faces drained of color. They stared at the lifeless body before them, their eyes wide with shock and terror as the horrifying reality finally sank in.
