She slowly stepped back, her eyes now fixed cautiously on the woman as well.

"It hurts," the woman cried.

She clutched her stomach tightly, her voice trembling with pain.

"I’m going into labor. Please help me."

Ivy’s eyes narrowed as something didn’t feel right to her.

"Were you expecting someone to come here and save you?" Ivy asked, raising an eyebrow.

A faint smirk appeared on her lips.

The woman looked at her in confusion.

"I..."

"Besides," Ivy continued, her voice calm as she studied the woman carefully, "when you first came into view, you were standing perfectly upright."

The woman froze for the briefest moment.

"When we stepped into this building, there was no sound of pain coming from you."

Ivy’s gaze sharpened.

"But the moment Anya and I entered, you suddenly started acting as though you were in unbearable pain."

The woman immediately frowned.

"I’m in labor right now!" she snapped, her voice filled with desperation. "Do you want me to be in pain even before my labor begins?"

She rubbed her stomach more vigorously, her expression becoming increasingly distressed.

Ivy remained unmoved.

"That’s not what I said."

The woman’s breathing became heavier then suddenly....A drop of blood fell onto the dusty floor.

Anya’s eyes widened.

"Captain..."

Within seconds, blood began dripping rapidly from beneath the woman’s black clothing, splattering onto the floor and spreading across the dusty ground.

Anya’s face paled.

"She’s bleeding!"

The woman cried out, clutching her stomach even tighter.

"Please!"

Her voice cracked as tears streamed down her face.

"Please save my baby!"

The amount of blood on the floor continued to increase yet Ivy didn’t move.

Her gun remained firmly pointed at the woman, while her sword stayed ready in her other hand.

"You better not allow that blood to touch you, or you might regret it," Ivy warned under her breath, her words directed at Anya.

Anya immediately nodded her head in understanding.

"Remove your veil," Ivy ordered, seriousness etched into her tone. "I want to see who we’re supposed to help."

"You’re just a foolish woman!" the pregnant woman suddenly yelled, anger evident in her voice. "I’m bleeding like this, and you still couldn’t even come close to me. It’s obvious you want me and my child to die!"

"The foolish one here is actually you, monster," Ivy replied coldly, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Did you really think you could trick me by disguising yourself as a pregnant woman and then suck my blood you monster? Impossible!"

Before the creature could react, Ivy raised her gun and fired.

Bang!

The bullet shot straight toward the pregnant woman’s head.

However, just as it was about to hit her, the woman’s head suddenly jerked backward at an impossible angle, bending far beyond what any normal human body could withstand.

Ivy’s eyes narrowed.

Anya’s expression changed instantly.

"What the...?"

Before either of them could fully process what they were seeing, the woman’s legs suddenly began transforming.

Her human legs melted together, turning into a huge tail that whipped through the air.

Whoosh!

The tail swung toward Ivy and Anya, nearly smashing into them.

"Move!"

Ivy grabbed Anya and pulled her aside just in time.

The tail slammed against the ground with tremendous force, cracking the floor beneath it.

At the same time, the woman’s protruding stomach suddenly became completely flat.

The transformation was so sudden that Anya could only stare in horror.

Blood continued spilling onto the floor, spreading beneath the creature as its rotten stench gradually filled the air.

"Please... just a little bit of blood," the woman pleaded weakly.

Her veil finally slipped completely from her face, revealing a horrifying sight.

One side of her face was still fresh, almost completely human, while the other side was rotten and decaying. Worms crawled through the flesh around her cheek and jaw, occasionally dropping onto the blood-soaked floor.

"I don’t want to become a monster," she whimpered, her voice trembling with desperation. "But I’m hungry. I just want some blood. Just a little blood please..."

"It’s your misfortune that you got bitten by a monster," Ivy replied with a cold smirk.

She raised her gun again and aimed directly at the creature.

"Don’t blame me for being ruthless."

Bang!

The bullet missed the creature as it quickly began crawling away, its huge tails dragging behind it while it hissed in pain.

"You!"

The woman continued crawling deeper into the building, desperately trying to escape.

"I’ll fucking strangle you, human!" she hissed furiously.

Her voice was filled with rage and desperation.

"I’m trying to remain sane! I’m trying to remain human, and you keep forcing me to become a monster!"

The creature suddenly turned around.

Its tail whipped through the air as it charged straight toward Ivy.

Ivy stood her ground, her eyes fixed on the approaching monster.

The creature was already within striking distance.

Its tail lifted high into the air, preparing to wrap around Ivy’s neck and crush her.

Just as it was about to reach her....

Bang!!!

The sound of the gunshot echoed throughout the building.

Ivy’s bullet finally found its target.

It pierced through the creature’s hair before continuing straight into its heart.

The monster froze mid-motion, it’s tail droppedy to the ground and a moment later, its body collapsed with a loud thud.

Immediately, a revolting, rotten stench immediately filled the air as dark blood oozed from its body.

Anya covered her mouth and staggered backward.

"Ugh!"

She immediately turned around and vomited.

Even Ivy felt nauseous from the unbearable smell, but she quickly controlled herself and forced her attention back to their surroundings.

"We finally did it!" Anya exclaimed after finally catching her breath.

She wiped her mouth and stared at the dead creature in disbelief.

"That motherfucker was actually a monster!"

Anya shuddered as she looked at the corpse.

"My blood could have been sucked dry if it wasn’t for you."

"Exactly," Ivy replied, lowering her gun slightly. "That’s why you need to be more careful."

Before Anya could respond....

Growl!

A deep, terrifying growl suddenly echoed through the building making both women freeze.

Growls!

The sounds seemed to come from everywhere at once making Ivy’s expression immediately turn serious.

Anya slowly looked around.

"What is that?"

The building suddenly began shaking slightly as dust fell from the ceiling as faint cracks appeared along some of the walls.

Their gazes shifted toward the corridor ahead where several monstrous figures suddenly emerged from the darkness.
