Chapter 287 What exactly is the plan?

Huh? Were you expecting me to agree to the mission before or what?" Ivy raised an eyebrow as she thought inwardly, confusion etched across her face.

Ding!

{It was a coincidence, Host. If I had never said this, I will definitely still give you this task.}

"Oh, I see," Ivy replied inwardly, all while nodding her head in understanding.

"What do you mean by you agree with him, Captain Ivy?" Darren finally asked after he seemed to find his voice. His voice was barely above a whisper, but the confusion in his tone was obvious. "What do you mean by you agree with him to counterattack? Besides, he just got here with his soldiers. We don’t even know him."

"Exactly! What exactly are you thinking?" Erick chimed in as he let out a scoff. "Yeah, I always agree with you on a lot of things, but this time around... are you sure you’ve thought about this carefully?"

"We should all support Captain Amos," Ivy began, addressing everyone present while completely ignoring Darren and Erick’s words, which only made them even more confused. "What we all need is cooperation, and everything will work out."

"How can we counterattack when we’re all like this?" Erick asked, his voice now considerably louder as he could no longer hold his frustration in. He gestured toward the injured soldiers around them. "Just look at his soldiers. Most of them are injured, and our soldiers... they’re tired, while some are also injured. Everyone needs rest and treatment, not to be fighting against monsters. Even if we want to attack them, it’s not possible in our current state. Any rash decision will mean death."

"And if we don’t attack now, then we should be ready for three years of consecutive natural disasters and monster evolution," Ivy declared, seriousness etched into her tone.

The moment those words left her mouth, everyone fell completely silent. The soldiers who had been talking among themselves immediately stopped, their gazes fixed on Ivy as they tried to process what she had just said.

"But if we also don’t want this, then we’d better counterattack," Ivy added calmly.

"A...are you for real right now?" Erick raised an eyebrow as he swallowed hard. "Three years of consecutive natural disasters?"

Instead of giving him a response, Ivy turned her attention toward Amos, who had a satisfied expression on his face now that Ivy had supported him. He hadn’t expected convincing everyone to be this easy, but Ivy had done it almost effortlessly, and that made him extremely pleased.

"I’ll financially support the bases participating in the counterattack too. We all know the level at which these monsters are right now, which means we’d better counterattack before another evolution we know nothing about arrives," Ivy began, seriousness etched into her tone.

Her declaration immediately caused Justin, Amos, Erick, and Darren’s eyes to widen in shock and utter disbelief.

"Wait... am I hearing things right, or am I hallucinating?" Darren murmured under his breath.

Erick placed a reassuring hand on Darren’s shoulder, but his own expression remained just as stunned as they both continued staring at Ivy.

"Of course we’re not crazy," Erick replied with a heavy sigh. "She’s actually serious, after all. And yeah, she wouldn’t argue for this plan if it’s going to hurt us survivors in the apocalypse."

He gave Darren’s shoulder a slight pat before Darren eventually nodded his head in response.

"I’ll be using ten crystal cores for evolution liquid as an incentive," Ivy announced.

Her words made Erick and Darren’s eyes widen even further.

Ivy then turned her attention toward Erick.

"I’ll be needing you to broadcast that."

"Wait, what?"

That was all Ivy left them with before leaving the scene, leaving everyone utterly speechless and more confused than ever.

The meeting with Amos alone occurred later that evening.

Ivy sat opposite Amos, their gazes fixed on each other as the room remained relatively quiet. The events of earlier that day were still fresh in their minds, especially the decision to counterattack Clothing City and the risks that came with it.

"When I said I wanted cooperation, I wasn’t expecting Hope Base to join. I mean, I was originally talking to Fierce Hunter Base, and I was seventy percent sure he was going to reject my offer. I had originally expected just Diamond Base to cooperate with me, but Hope Base actually agreed to join?" Amos raised an eyebrow after what felt like an eternity of silence between them. "Why did you agree to join?"

"Because I also needed cooperation, just like you," Ivy replied immediately with a smirk on her face.

"Just what exactly are you up to, Captain Ivy?" Amos raised an eyebrow as he leaned a little closer, studying her expression carefully.

"I’ll be supplying rice and evolution liquid," Ivy replied, seriousness etched into her tone. "I wonder why your base wouldn’t want to cooperate with me with this type of deal."

She added the last sentence with a smirk on her lips, causing Amos to swallow hard.

Food was extremely important for every base, after all, and now Ivy was also willing to provide them with evolution liquid.

Just like that?

Just for him to cooperate with her as a leader rather than being the one in charge?

Amos couldn’t deny that the offer was extremely tempting.

"I’m in!" Amos soon declared, seriousness etched into his tone. "I agree to cooperate with you. Now, what exactly is the plan?"
