Apocalypse: Rebirth With An Infinite Storage System
Chapter 284 What the actual fuck?!
Albert’s eyes widened slightly.
"I mean, you said you always wanted to join a stronger base, right?"
Ivy raised an eyebrow.
"I believe that’s because you want to be able to use whatever skills and abilities you have to their fullest potential."
She paused.
"And if that’s what you want, then Hope Base can give you that opportunity."
Albert stared at her in disbelief.
"You’re seriously inviting me?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Ivy asked with a small smile.
Albert’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Sure!"
He sounded genuinely excited.
"I’ve always wanted to join Hope Base. I’ll definitely join Hope Base now that you’re inviting me."
Without thinking, Albert reached out and grabbed both of Ivy’s hands.
His gaze locked firmly with hers.
"I’ll never disappoint you, Captain."
Ding!
The system interface appeared right before Ivy’s eyes, glowing with a bright purple light.
Her eyes immediately focused on the screen.
Albert’s name was displayed prominently across the interface.
Ivy’s pupils contracted slightly.
Purple light...
She immediately understood what it meant.
The purple light represented loyalty.
It meant Albert was completely loyal and would never betray her.
Ivy’s lips curved into a small smile.
She had made the right decision.
Ding!
{Congratulations on gaining a new member for Hope Base.}
{Dual Metal/Fire abilities obtained.}
Ivy’s eyes widened in shock.
What?!
She stared at the system interface in disbelief.
But before she could ask anything, another notification appeared.
Ding!
{Congratulations once again, Host. You’ve gained his abilities, and they are two times stronger than his.}
Ivy’s eyes widened even further.
Two times stronger?
Her heart immediately began beating faster.
Albert was still holding both of her hands, completely unaware of the system interface appearing before her.
Thank you, System, she replied inwardly.
Just then....
BOOM!
A deafening explosion suddenly erupted from somewhere outside the building making the entire building to shook violently.
The explosion outside soon caused a commotion as every soldier immediately rose from their sleep.
The peaceful atmosphere that had filled the fifth floor only moments ago disappeared in an instant.
"What was that?"
"An explosion?"
"Everyone, get up!"
"Grab your weapons!"
The soldiers quickly scrambled to their feet, reaching for their weapons as they tried to figure out what was happening.
Ivy was already on her feet while Albert....whom Ivy had decided to give a nickname to which was (Albert Fire) since she already knew another Albert from Fierce Hunter Base also stood up immediately.
The two of them rushed toward the window.
Ivy pushed aside the curtain and looked outside.
Her eyes widened.
A convoy of riot police vehicles was speeding toward Clothing City, but they weren’t moving freely.
They were being chased by monsters.
Hundreds of them were surging after the convoy, their monstrous bodies moving at frightening speed as they chased the vehicles down the snow-covered road.
"What the actual fuck?" Albert murmured under his breath.
He folded his arms across his chest, his expression turning serious as he watched the chaotic scene unfolding below.
The group outside continued fighting fiercely against the monsters.
The soldiers positioned themselves around the convoy, firing their weapons at anything that came too close.
Some carried guns while others wielded bows and arrows.
Every person was using whatever weapon they were most skilled with.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of gunfire repeatedly filled the air.
Arrows flew through the air one after another, striking the monsters and sending them crashing into the snow.
"Keep moving!" one of the survivors inside one of the vehicles shouted.
The drivers pushed down on the accelerator.
The convoy continued forcing its way forward.
They had barely managed to push through one wave of monsters when another massive wave suddenly surged toward them.
"Shit!"
"They’re coming from the front too!"
The monsters rushed in from every direction, quickly surrounding one of the vehicles.
The soldiers immediately opened fire.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets tore through the creatures but there were simply too many of them.
No matter how many the soldiers killed, more continued rushing forward.
The road ahead was almost completely blocked.
"Keep firing!"
"Don’t let them get close!"
"Watch your sides!"
BOOM!
A deafening explosion suddenly erupted ahead.
Everyone flinched.
The powerful blast shook the surrounding area, sending snow and debris flying through the air.
The explosion had come from Ivy.
