Apocalypse: Rebirth With An Infinite Storage System
Chapter 272 Do you think we’re here for window shopping?
"He should give you supplies for his own soldiers? Wtat happen to you not bringing supplies for your soldiers?" Darren ass the first person to ask all while he let out a scoff.
"That’s because my base is poor. Commander Erick can’t say he doesn’t have enough supplies here. I’ll definitely return it back after the mission." Justin replied with seriousness etched in his tone.
"Not everyone is dumb, though." Ivy chimed in immediately, seriousness and slight anger evident in her tone. "If we’re all here for a mission to get resources, then wait until after the mission. Work to gain the resources you need, and then you’ll leave."
"I wasn’t talking to you." Justin replied, slight anger flashing in his eyes. "And didn’t you hear where I said I was going to return his supplies? I just need them urgently to give to members from my base. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for."
"Of course it’s a lot to ask for." Ivy retorted, seriousness still etched into her tone. "There’s no supply for you until after the mission. And even after the mission, if we’re unable to get enough supplies, then you’ll still leave empty-handed."
"You..." Justin started, his face tightening with irritation.
However, he immediately stopped himself and eventually face-palmed.
He couldn’t believe he was actually arguing with a woman like Ivy over supplies. The entire situation was becoming too embarrassing for him, and saying anything else would only make matters worse. Hence, he could only endure her words and swallow his frustration.
"Umm... We should all leave now to commence the mission since we’re done here." Erick, who had remained quiet since their arrival, finally spoke up.
He swallowed hard, glancing between Ivy and Justin as he hoped to prevent the argument from escalating any further.
Darren couldn’t help but nod his head in response. He then led the way, followed by Ivy, Erick, Justin, his men and fierce Hunter base soldiers.
They had purposely parked their trucks some distance away so as not to alert any monsters they might come in contact with during the mission.
After walking for some time, the growls of monsters soon became louder, accompanied by the rotten smell emanating from their bodies.
The atmosphere immediately became tense.
"Alright, everyone, get ready." Ivy ordered, her expression becoming serious.
Darren, who was walking closer to her, nodded in response and immediately brought out his gun. Ivy and Erick did the same, their eyes scanning the surroundings carefully.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Gunshots rang out instantly, blowing off the heads of several approaching monsters.
The ugly growls of the monsters intensified as they charged toward them, only for their heads to be blown apart before they could get close enough to attack.
"Fuck!" Erick cursed under his breath as he kept shooting with all his might.
His movements were swift and practiced as he continuously pulled the trigger, taking down one monster after another.
Meanwhile, Justin and his men didn’t have the type of guns Ivy and her team possessed. They couldn’t help but rely on their swords and blades to fight the monsters.
While Ivy, Darren, and Erick continued finishing off the monsters with their guns, Justin and his men hacked and slashed at the creatures that managed to get close to them.
The battle didn’t last long.
With the combined strength of both groups, the monsters were quickly wiped out, leaving their bodies scattered across the snowy ground.
"Alright, let’s go inside the storehouse." Erick announced the moment the last monster outside fell.
He immediately moved toward the door and shot at the padlock.
Bang!
The padlock fell to the ground, granting him access to the building.
Everyone quickly followed him inside.
The moment they entered the building, their eyes widened.
The first floor was filled with different types of food, outfits, and other necessary supplies, all neatly stacked in drawers and shelves. There were enough supplies to make anyone realize just how valuable this place was.
"Oh my goodness!" Justin exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock and surprise as he stared at the abundance of goods. "If the first floor is already like this, then just think about how the other floors must be filled with goods!"
His excitement was obvious as he looked around the room.
He then turned his gaze toward his men, who were just as shocked and excited as he was.
"Go ahead and start packing the supplies. We have no time to waste." Justin ordered, seriousness etched into his tone.
"And why should they do that?" Ivy immediately questioned, raising an eyebrow with slight anger in her voice.
"Huh?" Justin raised an eyebrow and let out a scoff, placing his hands on his waist in frustration. "And just what exactly do you want from me, woman? And why shouldn’t they move the supplies? Do you think we’re here for window shopping?"
