Max frowned. He fell into deep thought.

A black flag is just bait?

He found it hard to believe that the black flag was merely bait.

He asked, "What do you think about the black flag?"

Angelo thought for a while.

He shook his head. "I don’t find it unusual."

Max thought for a while and said, "Maybe, for now. But once the black flag is planted somewhere, who knows what its purpose might be?"

"What do you mean?" Angelo asked in shock.

If it had been before, he would have doubted Max’s words.

But ever since Max had warned him about the possibility of a Demon Lord entering the Empire’s territory and harming him, Angelo realized that he might have already been killed.

Recalling the words of the female demon, Angelo was certain that she would have succeeded if he had not been aware of her beforehand.

Recalling the past week, where countless demons had been sacrificed, an idea formed in his mind that made his hair stand on end.

The female demon had only made a move after a week had passed.

In other words, during the past nights when the demons had faced certain defeat, the Demon Lord had not made a move at all.

They seemed to be deliberately waiting for the right opportunity.

They had been waiting until Angelo became used to their continuous victories and let his guard down.

Realizing how cunning the demon was, and how decisive she had been when it came to sacrificing their troops just to assassinate him, sent a chill running down his spine.

"We can’t underestimate the demon’s intentions. They are as cunning as foxes. The black flag might appear to be bait, but there’s a high possibility that they are simply protecting it, making it appear as if it is bait."

Angelo’s face turned solemn.

The Guildmaster’s speculation was indeed reasonable.

Max said, "Continue observing. If there’s any black flag or other object that is too conspicuous, inform me. We will help the Demon Hunters in your stead."

Angelo shook his head.

"I can help while observing, Guildmaster."

Max nodded.

"Good. However, there’s something I wish to test."

Since the Radiant Knights inside him were still evolving, while the Radiant Knights were taking time to emerge after his Summon Radiant Knights reached the Advanced level, increasing the maximum number of his active Radiant Knights to sixty, Max decided to personally enter the battlefield.

He was not weak just because he was a summoner.

He was once an Arcane Caster, as well.

His Arcane Caster skills at B-rank had reached the Advanced level of proficiency.

Coupled with the Master-level proficiency of his Mana Control and Mana Sensitivity, Max believed he was as strong as a peak Greater Demon.

Max turned toward Lancelot and saw Seraphina already casting continuous spells to help the Demon Hunters.

Max was satisfied with her actions.

He said to Lancelot, "Go to the eastern side and help the Demon Hunters. I will take care of the west. Angelo will cover the center."

Lancelot was surprised.

It was actually the first time that he had to participate.

Before he could question Max, the latter had already turned around, and his war horse sped toward him.

Max grabbed the reins of the horse and jumped onto its back as they bolted toward the western side.

Lancelot sighed.

He then had his horse run toward the opposite direction, leaving Seraphina and the Holy Knight behind to protect her, while Angelo flew toward the sky to assist the Demon Hunters in the center.

At the same time, he was observing Max.

He could not determine where Max’s confidence came from.

A summoner not relying on his summons was like watching a swordsman fighting with his bare fists.

He was truly curious about how Max would fight.

As Max’s horse reached the center of the western side of the main battlefield, Angelo saw Max’s Radiant Threads scattered around the battlefield.

They seemed to be randomly sticking to Demon Hunters and demons.

However, what Angelo noticed was that the Radiant Weave targeted the Demon Hunters fighting on the frontline—the shieldbearer knights.

Only five of them received the Radiant Threads, while the remaining thirty-five Radiant Weaves targeted Greater Demons ranging from early to peak rank.

Angelo observed that the maximum range of Max’s Radiant Weaves reached up to sixty-five meters.

He frowned, wondering what a single thread could do against a single Greater Demon.

Max, with his war horse, remained behind a shieldbearer knight, who was thrilled and pumped up to protect the Guildmaster, who was closing his eyes and casting spells.

The casting actually took a minute, as Angelo could observe Max’s mana core being drained rapidly.

Thankfully, it stopped just below the threshold where Max would suffer from mana deviation.

His eyes suddenly widened.

The Radiant Threads suddenly became conduits for the spell Max had cast.

They traveled at the speed of light, and when they reached the other end of a thread, a magic circle appeared while the Greater Demons could not react.

It happened so quickly.

The magic circles instantly formed the spell, which took effect immediately.

Thirty-five magic circles formed into Radiant Nova spells that exploded with a sixteen-meter radius.

Greater Demons that suffered the full force of the attack died almost instantly.

It was inevitable. The powerful radial explosions of radiant mana swallowed the demonic mana within their bodies as if they were hungry for it.

Meanwhile, the demons caught in the explosions were thrown outward, while shieldbearers readied themselves to attack the demons flying toward them through their shields.

Thirty-five powerful radial explosions of mana occurred, leaving the Demon Hunters stunned.

Only the shieldbearers were able to react.

But when the mages and rangers noticed that the lifeless demons still had their bodies convulsing, as if they were trying to survive the radiant mana corrupting their bodies, they quickly reacted and finished them off.

In just a matter of a second, the war on the western side took an immediate turn, shifting the advantage to the Demon Hunters.

Angelo was utterly stunned.

He saw the Guildmaster kneeling on one knee while his war horse immediately tried to provide leaning support.

At the same time, he noticed how the Guildmaster’s mana core was rapidly refilling the radiant mana that it had consumed...
