Chapter 155: Enzo’s Graduation

Enzo had already left early to prepare for their graduation.

Auntie Sarah had already free herself today and she was already preparing herself for three hours.

Max, on the other hand, was already fine just by taking a shower and choose a fancy clothes, frustrating Auntie Sarah.

It was not the frivolous preparation of Max for his brother’s treatment. He was already dazzling as he was.

Rather, it was the fact that Max didn’t need to prepare as tedious as she was.

At 9am, they had already set off to Enzo’s school.

Enzo was reading his valedictorian speech at the backstage.

But he couldn’t concentrate.

He was immersed in his own thoughts.

After today, Max will buy me a gaming pod. Is it really a right decision to invest on games?

Enzo felt conflicted.

He’s been consistently earning an enormous amount of money I couldn’t dare to amass until I die.

It should be worth investing. I also have him, so I won’t face difficulties in playing...

However, when he remembered the undying hate of other players towards his brother, he smiled bitterly.

Max had not yet reveal his actual identity. Even when his classmates spread rumors, no one would still believe them.

However, a week ago, Aethernova released a statement that they would finally reveal the First Player, while hinting at the possible contract formation with them.

Although Enzo was worried that Max’s source of income would dwindle in the future, his worries turned out to be superfluous by Aethernova’s desire to form a contract with him.

"You seem lost in thought, Enzo." A feminine voice echoed in front of Enzo, startling him awake.

He tilted his head and stared at her stunning face.

She was Kate Fisher, daughter of the principal of the school, and the salutatorian of their batch.

They did not share the same classroom, but due to their rivalry, Enzo inevitably had interactions with her many times in the past, with Kate initiating them.

It was obvious Kate was very competitive. From their very first interaction, Enzo already felt her fervent desire to defeat him, only to end up winning the valedictorian award despite the backing Kate had.

Though, on the side note, Enzo felt like he received the reward justly because of his luxurious car that seemed to convey his influential background.

Enzo gazed at Kate and perceived that she was not interacting with the same fervent desire anymore.

It was a friendly approached from her.

Enzo replied, "Yeah."

"Are you thinking of what to do after this?"

"Yeah."

"So, did you already decide?"

At this moment, Kate’s eyes turned fiery, seemingly reinvigorating her competitive spirit of defeating Enzo even after high school.

Enzo was speechless.

Why do I feel like she won’t stop until she beats me on my field?

Enzo discarded such thoughts at the back of his head and replied, "Yeah."

Kate leaned her face forward and asked, "So, what is it?"

Enzo was dumbfounded.

Staring at her face, he suddenly felt embarrassed, causing his cheeks and ears to turn red, compelling him to turn his head away.

He replied, "I will be gaming."

"What?!" Kate thought she didn’t hear it right.

She gazed at Enzo in disbelief.

Enzo only smiled in response. He wasn’t surprised by her reaction.

"Say that again?!" Kate asked loudly that she was almost shouting.

Enzo rolled his eyes.

Still, he remained patient with her.

Hopefully, she will finally let go of this obsession of surpassing me in academics.

He still remained looking away while replying, "I will be focusing on playing the game."

"The one that is extremely popular right now?"

Enzo nodded.

Kate gazed at Enzo and her eyes lit up.

With sparkling eyes, she grabbed Enzo’s shoulder and said in an enthusiastic tone, "That’s perfect! I’ve also been playing that game for a while now.

We should play with each other.

I’m currently taking a mage class, particularly aiming for the Arcane Caster class advancement.

Becoming a mage required a high level of intelligence.

We should continue our competition there."

Enzo was dumbstruck.

He turned towards her with eyes in disbelief.

Yet given how stunning Kate was, he immediately turned his head away and replied, "Do as you fit."

"That’s a promise, then. You should add me to your contact list now."

"I haven’t played the—"

"What?! You still haven’t?"

Kate pondered for a while.

"That makes me ahead of you at the moment."

Enzo couldn’t help but glance at her in silence.

When Kate glanced at him, he immediately looked away and replied, "If I can’t surpass you in a month, then the competition ends with you winning."

Kate was stunned.

She suddenly shook his head. "No, that won’t do. I treat you as my rival and I won’t end our competition just because I’m ahead of you after a month.

Let’s go with five years. If I remain ahead of you after five years, I will treat it in a way that you don’t deserve my friendship."

Enzo rolled his eyes. "Do as you fit."

Suddenly, a staff reminded them that the graduation would start now.

Enzo checked his phone and saw Auntie Sarah’s message that they had already arrived half an hour ago.

Enzo smiled and didn’t reply, continuing to focus on the paper in front of him to prepare for his speech.

After this, I will finally focus on what made my brother achieved what I was dreaming to attain.

Kate glanced at him and wasn’t insulted that she felt neglected.

She felt haughty instead.

Finally, you are entering my field. I dare you to beat me.

She turned around and finally left.

Max was staring at the students below, spotting Enzo amidst the crowd.

He watched in silence, filling emotional all of a sudden.

He could still remember.

Perhaps, the memorable relishing moment in his past life was watching Enzo graduated in highschool.

It was way more sentimental for them as brothers rather than Enzo graduating college.

After all, graduating highschool without their parents was a proof that they could survive by themselves...
