The others turned silent at what they had heard from Alex.

So far, they were able to stay safe and survive from all the mutated beasts and zombiefied students listening to his instructions.

Having a place to stay and have stable food and water in these times was a blessing for them.

They appreciated it and were willing to do their best under him.

But this time, some of them weren’t too sure.

The lure of getting the peace and order back, if they got to the quarantine area lingered in their heart, making them undecided.

Thoughts of leaving went through their minds for a few moments.

However, after thinking about it carefully, they shook their heads and told themselves to forget about it.

The mutated beasts and dangers they would encounter on the trip to the quarantine area, were enough to dissuade them for now.

Vivid imagery of their friends killed by the mutated beasts were still fresh in their minds.

Alex saw their hesitant expressions but he let them be.

He had always let them have the freedom to leave if they wanted to, and this was no exception.

Better to save the hassle and only have those who were loyal around with you.

"Come to our room." He glanced over at Eddy, Lin, David, Patricia, and said, "I still have some things to discuss with all of you."

They nodded at him and they went up to Brian’s room with him.

Once Alex got into the room, he took out a few packets of the seeds for the vegetables and herbs he had gotten from the Halmart.

He handed the packets over to Patricia and said, "I need you to find a place to plant them and see if you can harvest them as quickly as you can.

"It is important for us in the future."

"I will try my best." Patricia nodded her head and kept the packets.

Having a way to cultivate and have a stable food source was crucial instead of having everyone to depend on his ability.

So, having his little farming experiment was the first step to having a stable food source.

With that out of the way, Alex pondered on how there was a need to have patrols around the college campus next.

Right now, they weren’t able to have any early warning without someone on the lookout.

Things might go awry if they weren’t able to react in time.

Hence, it might be necessary for the others in the dorm building to go on patrol missions daily or even set up observation points throughout the campus buildings.

They could now communicate with the walkie talkie they had, making it much more feasible.

On top of that, the fact that the other students were holed up in the dorm building every day was also bad for their mental stability, getting them out to patrol might help with it.

The other awakened also needed to have a chance to kill the mutated beasts for them to get better.

Eddy, Lin and the other D Level Awakened had not been able to do much about it after being stationed inside the dorm building for a few days.

With Alex having the knowledge to classify the mutated beasts up to Stage III of their mutation, he could let them know when they should engage with the mutated beasts they encounter.

He glanced over at Eddy and others and briefed them on what he had just thought.

"Patrol and observation points?" Lin frowned and asked.

Alex nodded his head and elaborated further.

"We will clear the buildings tomorrow and Terry will help with the construction of the observation points with his ability.

"As for the patrol, I will let you know the different types of mutated beasts and what to look out for when you encounter them.

"With it, you can then better decide whether to engage with these mutated beasts before seeking help from us."

He went on and explained to them what the mutated beasts at different stages of mutation looked like.

Eddy and the others took note of what he had said and they felt better about the patrols.

Alex gave out a sigh, glanced at David and said, "We’ve also met with the other medical students who had left earlier, but they had all perished."

He figured that there might be friends of his within the group so it was better to inform him.

David’s eyes widened for a moment before he gave out a long sigh.

They might still be alive if he had tried to persuade them to stay with Alex.

But it was too late for them at the moment.

He thought and lowered his head.

Alex left him alone to process it by himself.

He proceeded to take out supplies that he had gotten from the Halmart.

There were clothes, daily essentials, sanitary products and of course, food and water for the day.

He would have to let the others have some reward to get them on board with his plan to have the patrols and observation points.

Eddy and the others thanked him and they left the room to distribute the items among themselves.

"I’m starving." Terry started preparing their meal as usual.

Riley glanced over at Alex and asked, "About the observation point and patrols, you intend to stay here for the long haul?"

"No." Alex shook his head and said, "It’s just a band aid to the fact that the college campus was designed to be open and exposed."

"Where do you intend to move to eventually?" Riley asked and Alex took out the map he got from Riley’s room previously.

Alex opened up the map and glanced at the few spots that were marked with a red cross by Riley.

"The few spots that are marked furthest away from us are at least a thousand kilometers away.

"I don’t think we can do it safely with a few hundred of us moving across such a distance.

"That leaves us with only three options that are a few hundred kilometers away." Riley said while his finger roamed around the map.

Alex and Brian nodded at what he said in agreement.

"First, we can consider the old factories in the east industrial zone..."
