Chapter 1422: Chapter 64: Upheaval (6)

“So, what are you all waiting for?”

Philip, having absorbed the power of nearly seventy Demon Spirit carbon copies and most of the spectators below, exuded the aura of an invincible demigod.

With the combined memories of Oga and the world consciousness residing within him, only one entity could compare to Philip right now.

The Almighty Immortal Emperor.

Indeed, in Oga’s view, after absorbing so much nourishment, Philip’s peak power was enough to rival the former Almighty Immortal Emperor.

Meanwhile, the remaining dozen or so stronger Demon Spirit carbon copies had already been drained of most of their power in the previous strike. At this moment, facing Philip, they were weak and gasping heavily. Their previous talk of “killing” seemed like a complete joke.

On the surface, the situation was settled. Oga and the others stared intently at Philip, who was also waiting for the Demon Spirit’s next move—wanting to leverage this opportunity to draw out the Demon Spirit’s true form and completely crush it!

Naturally, both sides overlooked a distant figure stealthily approaching the location where a Demon Spirit carbon copy had fallen on the outer rim.

…

This was a Bone Demon, over two meters tall, covered with a menacing bone armor. According to various intelligence reports, Wen Yu could not find a name matching this Demon Fiend’s appearance in memory. It seemed to be a “vessel” secretly cultivated by the Demon Spirit.

As Wen Yu got closer, he began to sense the Demon Spirit’s power and also gained a deeper understanding of Philip’s strength.

This Demon Tribe member, seemingly on the brink of collapse, radiated an aura not inferior to the Black River Sovereign. Wen Yu believed that if it were to duel the Black River Sovereign one-on-one, the outcome would be fifty-fifty.

Yet such a powerful expert was swept aside by Philip as easily as cutting through butter—killing it would only trigger the enemy’s resurrection mechanism. It’s better to half-kill it and then seal its recovery skills.

Of course, for Wen Yu, this was the best outcome.

He observed the Bone Demon lying on the ground, which seemed to sense someone approaching. It struggled to open its eyes but couldn’t—Philip had completely drained it of energy in the previous battle.

At this point, it couldn’t even identify the assailant to relay the message.

Without any hesitation, Wen Yu decisively sent this Demon Spirit carbon copy back to the Netherworld.

However…

With a sudden “swish,” Wen Yu sensed several gazes from above lock onto him.

…

His smile turned awkward.

Wen Yu thought of the energy ripples from the Netherworld, possibly attracting Philip and the Demon Spirit carbon copies’ attention, yet he still took the risk in the face of temptation.

But being caught in the act was a bit embarrassing…

Thinking of this, Wen Yu immediately looked up, only to see Philip and the Demon Spirit carbon copies abruptly stop their standoff and focus on him. After a three-second silence, Wen Yu finally put on a bright smile.

“Hello everyone, please continue…”

After saying this, the Netherworld activated again, decisively “arresting” the other ten Demon Spirit carbon copies within its coverage—there was only so much room in the Eternal Cage.

This bold move lightened the otherwise tense ultimate showdown in the Demon Realm, leaving Philip both amused and helpless as he looked at Wen Yu.

But for the Demon Spirit carbon copies, this wasn’t a matter to be taken lightly.

Oga glanced at Wen Yu and suddenly let out an angry roar. His massive body retracted instantly as he opened his mouth wide, seemingly wanting to deal a hard blow to Wen Yu.

However, before the attack was launched, Oga suddenly felt his vision blur. A not-so-tall figure instantly teleported onto his head. That figure lifted a foot and stomped hard on Oga’s forehead, a simple strike that shattered Oga’s skull, abruptly halting the attack in progress.

When this round between the two ended, Wen Yu finally realized what happened. Although his smile remained, inside he felt an intense thrill.

However…

This is how it should be…

In a great battle, you must know the primary from the secondary.

Though to the Demon Spirits, Wen Yu was an enemy superior even to Philip, as the saying goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Philip might watch Wen Yu die, but more likely, Philip would save Wen Yu.

Of course, this saving wasn’t for free.

“Coordinates XXX, XXX, XXX. Help me capture those on the ground and meet me at this location. I’ll not only protect you but also share some of the profits with you.”

Philip not only discerned that Wen Yu’s target was the Demon Spirit carbon copies but also signed a ‘loot-sharing agreement’ with him.

So this is how it should be…

With Philip’s proposal, both parties were happy. Although Wen Yu didn’t fully understand why Philip wanted the Demon Spirit carbon copies, it didn’t hinder Wen Yu’s acceptance of the matter.

“No problem!”

With a simple reply, Wen Yu immediately got to work.

…

The Netherworld flickered crazily. After several passes, Wen Yu managed to collect nearly seventy Demon Spirit carbon copies from the ground.

Though Oga and others, not yet crushed by Philip, were furiously angry and desperately attempted to rush to Wen Yu’s side and deliver a hit, they remained powerless before Philip.

Despite being outnumbered, the situation seemed reversed; Oga and his group were constrained by Philip into a tight circle, unable to break free.

After tidying up the mess, Wen Yu chose not to linger and watch the fight but simply told Philip, “I’m leaving first,” then took off running. This time, however, Wen Yu didn’t run blindly; he was indeed headed in the direction specified by Philip’s coordinates.

Having gained nearly seventy “pseudo-Level 12” experts, Wen Yu actually needed only about twelve, although the rest could be sealed with Vicious Venom, this wasn’t the ideal solution.

Killing wasn’t feasible, keeping them served no clear purpose. Rather than holding onto them, better to pass them to Philip to handle.

…

Philip’s given coordinates were somewhere in the Desolate Border, an extremely remote area from where Wen Yu currently stood.

Wen Yu paid no heed to the fresh surge of energy erupting behind him. He simply focused on running toward the spot, eager to leave the battlefield as soon as possible.

This battle, truly, was no longer Wen Yu’s concern.

Unbeknownst to Wen Yu, soon after his departure, the situation at Philip’s battlefield once again changed.

Off in the distance, dozens more flashes of light appeared, accompanied by an overwhelming aura. This time, even Philip’s face began to look grim.

Being pressured by Philip, Oga burst into a series of hearty laughs.

“Old thing, your time has come.”
