These words were of no use to Wen Yu; dangerous or not, just fight, however, Wen Yu pondered briefly and found the implicit meaning in Bai’s words.

"You mean, there’s a good chance we’ll dive right into the Demon Lord’s abode?"

"Possibly..."

Bai admitted that it might indeed happen.

"But in theory, this shouldn’t happen because among millions of intermediary channels, only one leads to the Demon Lord’s abode, unless one is chosen by destiny..."

At this point, Bai merely cast a mysterious glance at Wen Yu, and left the rest unsaid. Wen Yu merely nodded in understanding.

"That’s not my main concern..."

"The most important thing to note is that once transmitted through these intermediary channels, you can’t return the same way. It’s one-way and very likely once-only. So, after infiltration, we’ll be scattered to different locations, requiring everyone to adapt accordingly. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the position of the Origin Pool. Oh, you still have the jade pendant I gave you, right?"

Wen Yu nodded, indicating he hadn’t thrown it away.

"That thing can not only help locate my direction but also facilitate brief communication. If you discover anything, notify me promptly, and we will meet at the Origin Pool."

"What does the Land of Origin look like?"

Wen Yu had actually never seen this troublesome Land of Origin, so asking about it was reasonable. In response to Wen Yu’s question, Bai just smiled.

"You’ll know when you find it... That’s all, basically."

Bai finished, thus concluding all explanations and sharing of intelligence, leaving only the waiting.

...

The waiting process was lengthy yet not dull.

Inside the Devourer’s stomach, Wen Yu could extend his perception; the Devourer’s skin didn’t block it, and combined with Wen Yu’s vast perception range, like the recent probing, the only drawback was the harsh air environment, making it feel completely like a sightseeing sub.

Inside the Devourer’s belly, Wen Yu could even see the external scenery — that Sea of Magma Fire.

Of course, that wasn’t particularly worth seeing, but the ecosystem beneath the Magma Fire sea opened Wen Yu’s eyes wide!

The monsters hunted over the past days remained vivid; they roamed continuously in the fire sea but were far from the Devourer. Occasionally, those getting close would panic and withdraw quickly — the hierarchy of the food chain was clear; in this fire sea, the Devourer was entirely a dominant existence, even though it was merely the Demon Realm’s Core floor cleaning robot...

Before long, Wen Yu finally witnessed the Devourer’s feeding scene.

It was a severely disabled Magma Giant. It lay floating and sinking in the fire sea with extremely weak vitality. As the Devourer approached, the sense of panic exuded from the Magma Giant was apparent; in Wen Yu’s perception, that severely wounded Magma Giant kept floundering like a bewildered fly but was utterly powerless before the Devourer’s gigantic mouth.

The huge mouth opened instantly; even those within the Devourer’s stomach felt an immense suction engulfing them from the lake behind. Seeing Bai and others swaying, Wen Yu grabbed them, helping stabilize their forms, and refocused on the outside.

The powerful suction drew the Magma Giant in, dragging it fiercely into the Devourer’s belly, as if a meteor approached. Wen Yu witnessed the Magma Giant seemingly transform into a large fireball, smashing into the lake within the Devourer’s belly.

Instantly, water splashed, followed by the Magma Giant’s pitiful howl resonating in one’s ears; in less than a second, the nearly thousand-meter-high Magma Giant was dissolved and digested thoroughly, disappearing completely.

The potency of the Devourer’s gastric juice was evident...

Wen Yu’s eyes twitched at the recent scene; after a pause, he opened his mouth to ask Bai.

"Did you just crawl out from inside here?"

According to the comparison in strength, if Bai and others fell into the Devourer’s gastric juice, surviving would be impossible. However, Bai just calmly nodded.

"We indeed crawled out of the Devourer’s gastric juice; this thing doesn’t corrode us strongly, at least not like dissolving the Magma Giant."

At this point, Bai even purposefully let a little gastric juice from the Magma Giant touch, as it slid off Bai’s fingertips like a knife cutting his skin instantly; though strong, it was far less than before.

In response, Wen Yu pondered briefly, then seemingly muttered to himself: "Targeted..."

"I really overlooked this: actually, the creatures in this Sea of Magma Fire are essentially similar to the Air Puppet variants seen on land; they should all be variants of Soul Puppets."

"Like the variant Air Puppet we just saw, targeting only fleshly beings, while this Devourer specifically targets these variant Soul Puppets..."

Upon speaking, Wen Yu gently caught a wisp of air, subsequently filling it with a substantial amount of Creation Energy. Shortly, a Soul Puppet was formed, yet as Wen Yu anticipated, this newborn Soul Puppet emitted silent wails upon contacting the highly acidic air and vanished instantaneously.

"So, this is how it is..."

Wen Yu sighed, then looked at Bai.

"Is there anything you haven’t told me? Like the forces distribution in this Demon Realm’s profile? Or perhaps, to whom do these Soul Puppets belong?"

Bai simply shook his head: "I don’t know about these."

Bai’s gaze was sincere, without any special Soul Fluctuation or emotional wave, strongly suggesting Bai might not be lying. Thus, Wen Yu couldn’t scrutinize further; he only made a simple summary.

"Here, there should be two factions; if Bai’s previous intelligence isn’t mistaken, the Devourer’s side should be affiliated with the Demon Palace, under the Demon Lord, while the external biological group could be Soul Puppets created by some existence. The two are mutually opposing, no, saying they are opposing is inappropriate. Although the Devourer shows specificity towards Soul Puppets, it does not actively hunt these variant Soul Puppets..."

Wen Yu’s voice grew quieter until finally, he simply stopped speaking.

The situation here was peculiar; the more Wen Yu saw, the more questions arose in his mind, the overlapping clues left him utterly confused.

But somehow, the term "Demon Spirit" suddenly floated in Wen Yu’s mind, and intuition suggested to Wen Yu that the Demon Spirit had a significant relation to this situation.
