Apocalypse: I'm Bound to a Mobile Lottery Shop
Chapter 453: Captivated
Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Captivated
’Forget it. Let’s go in and see.’ Lily Hart gestured for the somewhat stunned Linnie Shaw to join her.
The main entrance was in the center. Linnie Shaw opened the heavy door and peeked inside.
She quickly pulled her head back out. Lily Hart, who had been about to follow her in, was confused. "What’s wrong?"
Linnie Shaw opened the door a tiny crack again, letting Lily Hart look.
Lily Hart leaned in to see. It was dim inside, with flashing purple and blue lights creating a scene of decadent indulgence.
It was also very hard on the eyes.
It perfectly matched her stereotype of a bar: dim, yet filled with colorful lights.
All it needed was some deafening, non-mainstream music and a crowd of people jumping up and down in the middle.
Lily Hart pulled the door wide open, and the bright light from outside flooded in.
The two of them could finally see the scene inside more clearly. All they could say was that it was very much a bar.
The space was huge. In the very center was a large, white circular platform, about twenty centimeters high.
Lily Hart had never been to a bar, but she vaguely knew this was probably for people to dance on.
In front of the white platform was a long bar counter where customers could sit, drink, and flirt.
Behind the counter, an entire wall of shelves held all sorts of liquor. This was where the bartender would mix drinks.
Surrounding the white platform were countless booths—some open, some semi-enclosed, and some fully private.
It was all a matter of choice.
The two looked at each other, clearly a bit bewildered by the scene.
Forget Lily Hart, Linnie Shaw had never been to a bar either. After all, she had only been seven when the apocalypse started.
After the apocalypse began, what bars were left? Even alcohol had become a rare commodity!
Lily Hart started to worry. ’Will anyone even want to come? It’s the apocalypse. Who has the spare energy to go clubbing?’
Linnie Shaw said with certainty, "If people go to the bathhouse, they’ll definitely come to a bar. Everyone is living under constant high pressure and needs to relax. But since killing people without reason will get you punished by the base, so..."
If a bar and a bathhouse were available, they would become the top choices for people to unwind.
She added, "Besides, some people can’t get enough of alcohol. They didn’t have the chance before, but now they do."
Having scratched off a first-prize winner—and a great one like a bar at that—Linnie Shaw’s mood brightened, and she started chattering away.
Lily Hart was relieved. Her biggest fear was that if business was bad, Linnie Shaw would lose the confidence to keep going.
The two wandered around and discovered the place was truly massive. There were even dozens of restrooms.
They went behind the bar counter and saw so much alcohol of all kinds, many of which Lily Hart had never even seen before~
Suddenly, Linnie Shaw remembered something and her face fell. ’What do I do? I don’t know how to mix drinks.’
Lily Hart waved a hand dismissively, looking unconcerned. "No problem, we have robots~"
She’d seen this plenty of times. Lots of shop owners didn’t know how to do things themselves; they relied entirely on robots.
Then they would learn by doing. They’d watch, and slowly, they’d get the hang of it.
"That’s good." Linnie Shaw licked her tongue stud, feeling relieved.
Lily Hart’s words had a way of putting people at ease. Linnie Shaw ran her hand over the bar counter, picturing what the bar would look like when it was open.
’It’s going to be so lively.’
There was a row of light switches at the bar. Linnie Shaw tried them one by one.
The lights in the bar flickered—one moment blue, the next purple, and then a riot of colors.
It created the perfect atmosphere.
Just looking at it made Lily Hart want to go up and dance a little. No sooner said than done, she pulled Linnie Shaw and rushed toward the circular platform.
The moment they stepped onto the platform, as if triggered by a sensor, music automatically started playing.
It was explosive and loud, the beat pounding relentlessly. Linnie Shaw, who had been a bit reserved at first, found herself swaying to the music.
As for Lily Hart, she was acting like she owned the place.
The two of them danced with great enthusiasm, feeling an incredible sense of release, as if all their worries had vanished.
A while later, the bar door opened again. Frost Shaw poked his head in and was nearly blinded by the flashing lights.
He had come to call Lily Hart for dinner. The first thing he saw was her on the platform, swaying back and forth, her figure graceful and captivating.
There was another girl next to her, also swaying, but her movements were a bit stiff.
His gaze followed Lily Hart as he subconsciously walked into the bar and shut the door behind him.
He was completely cut off from the world outside.
He hadn’t even gotten on the platform yet, but just listening to the intoxicating music, Frost Shaw’s feet began to tap uncontrollably.
Tapping and tapping, he soon found himself on the circular platform, swaying to the music.
On the vast platform, the three of them swayed on their own, not disturbing each other.
Their minds went completely blank, wanting only to surrender their bodies to the music, and they didn’t feel tired at all.
Lily Hart wasn’t jumping wildly; she was just swaying gently, shaking her head to the beat.
Roman Rowe noticed Frost Shaw still hadn’t returned and thought it was strange. ’What’s with everyone today?’
Seeing that the food was on the table but the guest of honor was still missing, Roman Rowe had no choice but to go get him himself.
But when he opened the bar door, he was immediately captivated by the scene inside.
He had heard some of the older folks talk about how much fun bars were, but he had never been to one.
Now, opening the bar door felt like opening the door to a new world.
Roman Rowe quickly ran onto the white platform and stomped his feet with a couple of hard jumps, instantly drawing the attention of the other three.
Lily Hart shot him a look. "What are you stomping for?"
The music was too loud, practically deafening. Roman Rowe didn’t hear her and shouted, "Huh?"
Lily Hart read his lips and had to shout back, "What are you stomping for?!"
Roman Rowe leaned in closer, his ear almost touching her lips. Frost Shaw, having had enough, pulled him away.
After pulling him away, Frost Shaw leaned close to his ear and yelled, "She asked what you’re stomping for! Do you even know how to dance?"
Roman Rowe clutched his ear, complaining, "Why are you shouting so loud? You’re going to make me deaf!"
"?" Frost Shaw was speechless.
The bar door opened once more, and Owen Warren came in. "Are you guys eating or not?"
Lily Hart waved him over. "Who cares about eating? Come on, let’s dance!"
Owen Warren was about to righteously refuse, but the moment he saw her wave, he couldn’t help but trot over eagerly.
He crossed his arms, playing it cool. "What’s all this dancing about? How do you even do it?"
The music switched to a track with a deep THUMP, THUMP, THUMP that hit you right in the soul.
Lily Hart shouted, "Whatever you want! Dance however you want to dance!"
Owen Warren got the message.
He watched her eyes narrow slightly, looking almost drunk, yet she could still follow the rhythm perfectly, her body swaying to the beat.
Owen Warren couldn’t help but smile. Listening to the music, he slowly began to blend in.
The other three were already completely lost in the moment, having totally forgotten there were people in the RV waiting for them for dinner.
Inside the RV, Leo Colby and the others waited and waited, but there was no sign of them.
Seth couldn’t help but ask, "What in the world is inside that copper coin? How come everyone goes in and doesn’t come out?"
Stan Sterling shook his head. "I heard it’s a bar. Have any of you been to one?"
They all shook their heads. Stan Sterling suggested, "Well, why don’t we go take a look too and see what’s so captivating?"
The suggestion was met with unanimous agreement. Easton and the other kids wanted to follow, but they were strictly forbidden.
"Minors aren’t allowed in bars~" Stan Sterling said with a perfectly straight face.
