Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Apocalypse — Chapter 83: Do You Want Some Blood?

  • Next Chapter

Zombie corpses soon covered the ground outside the gate. Others began climbing over them, while more and more gathered around the fence.

Villa 026 was completely surrounded, layer after layer, until nothing but zombies could be seen.

Their chaotic growls sounded like a crowded marketplace.

“Fuck! Who came up with this rotten idea?” A muscular young man threw down his spear. “There are so many that we could keep killing until next year!”

“Shit, motherfuckers! I quit too!” shouted another man wearing a helmet and leather clothing. “I’m exhausted, and there aren’t any fewer zombies. They’re fucking endless!”

“You’re all behaving absurdly!” A middle-aged man in gold-rimmed glasses emerged and frowned at them. “You’ll only attract more. At this rate, they’ll climb the pile of corpses and enter the compound!”

A middle-aged woman followed him.

“What are you young fools doing? If you have so much energy, find more food.”

“The other survivors in Lily New City are dead. No one will deliver supplies anymore. We’ll have to search for food ourselves. With zombies everywhere and no one to support us, learn to keep a low profile.”

“Madam, we were only practicing!” a refined-looking young man said with a smile. “Once the weather clears tomorrow, we’ll drive out. With our combat strength and modified vehicles, ordinary zombies can’t stop us. If we encounter something powerful, we still have guns.”

“Enough. You’re filthy and covered in sweat. Go shower and change,” the middle-aged man ordered.

“Yes!”

The three men obediently entered the villa.

The man turned to the three women. “Why are you still standing there? Go rest. Turn off the stereo and lights, and never do anything this foolish again!”

They nodded reluctantly and went inside.

Soon, a shout came from the villa.

“What happened? Why did the water suddenly stop?”

The three men ran back out.

“The pump isn’t broken,” the muscular one reported.

“The supply system may be blocked,” said the refined man. “Probably near the intake.”

“That doesn’t sound right,” one woman argued. “A blockage would strain and burn out the motor. It feels more like a ruptured pipe.”

The middle-aged man frowned.

“Why would the water suddenly stop? Losing water is even worse than losing food.”

“Arguing won’t help,” his wife said. “At daybreak, send several people to investigate.”

Meanwhile, Xiao Yi looked at the severed water pipe and smiled coldly.

The woman had been correct. He had destroyed Villa 026’s supply line.

Since their defenses were so thorough, he would force them outside.

They possessed food, water, modified vehicles, and firearms. People like these would never lower their heads obediently.

Capturing them first would be easier.

With zombies surrounding the villa, they would not emerge soon. Xiao Yi therefore returned to the armored vehicle and took the doctors and mutant back to the City of Sin.

The city was overcrowded, with tents everywhere.

The Outer City had not yet been cleared. Si Ruoqing planned to train for several days before beginning the operation.

After leaving the doctors under Li Wanning’s supervision, Xiao Yi took the mutant into the Outer City and released her.

He chose the Outer City because he feared she might attack people.

That concern proved unnecessary.

She crept from the cage and watched Xiao Yi fearfully, like a small child encountering a suspicious stranger. Her expression held fear, curiosity, and shyness, but no desire to attack or flee.

“Do you want some blood?” Xiao Yi asked with a tempting smile.

“Yes...” She rubbed her lips with two cute canine teeth. “Keke is hungry...”

“Keke?”

“Did you remember your name? Are you called Keke?”

She nodded. “I... remember a little...”

“Then behave and follow me. I’ll take you to drink blood.”

Xiao Yi led Keke to the Slave Dungeon.

When he entered, Ma Beili glared at him with hatred, tears running down her cheeks. Everything he had done to her seemed worse than the actions of any beast.

Ma Chenbin lay against the iron bars, moaning weakly. Prolonged mental torment had driven both siblings close to collapse.

Seeing Xiao Yi, Ma Chenbin first appeared disappointed, then immediately became energetic.

“Boss! You finally came back! My map helped, right? The Crown Prince Gang obeyed your orders, didn’t they? I told you my father and brothers would listen if you showed them my ring. Have you already conquered the villa district?”

While flattering him, Ma Chenbin wondered whether Xiao Yi had really met Ma Gang—or whether his scheme had failed because even his father could not defeat this monster.

“Boss, since I contributed, please release me!”

“I promise absolute loyalty!”

“I’ll obey everything!”

“I’ll be your best dog!”

Xiao Yi looked at the Loyalty value above his head—20%.

He laughed coldly inside.

The man clearly planned to seek frantic revenge as soon as he escaped.

Ma Beili’s value was even more exaggerated—0%.

Xiao Yi almost admired her. She truly possessed an iron will and hated him with every part of her being.

Then he looked at Keke.

Her Loyalty was 50%.
