Apocalypse — Chapter 75: A Brutal Battle

  • Next Chapter

“Fuck! Just as we thought! Commander, Dong Haobiao has joined forces with Ma Gang against us! Those bastards are coming together!” Chong Guoyuan shouted from a vehicle roof, binoculars in hand.

He had spotted Ma Gang’s modified SUV.

“So what if they joined forces? No matter how many of those bastards there are, they’re still a rabble! I’ll kill them all today before my hatred is satisfied!”

“Ahhh!”

Song Junshuang’s eyes were bloodshot, his face twisted. With nowhere else to vent his rage, he wanted only slaughter.

Whenever he remembered that his beloved goddess had been taken just before becoming his woman, grief and fury overwhelmed him.

She was no longer pure.

Should he still accept her?

The question was too difficult. He truly did not know the answer.

On the other side, Dong Haobiao and Ma Gang also noticed Lin Chengxun’s rapidly approaching force.

“Dong Haobiao, you idiot! Now you understand that you were manipulated!” Ma Gang pointed at him, trembling with rage. “If you had stayed calm, would we have wasted so many men and bullets?”

The thought of more than a dozen brothers dying for nothing filled Ma Gang with grief.

“Enough!” Meng Xiuwen shouted through the vehicle window. “Lin Chengxun wants to eliminate all of us. Neither faction can defeat him alone. Our only chance is to unite and fight for our lives!”

The distance between the two sides rapidly closed. They could already see the fury and determination on one another’s faces.

“Big Brother, what do we do?” Meng Xiuwen asked nervously.

“What else can we do?” Third Brother, the muscular tattooed man, roared with bloodshot eyes. “If we don’t fight now, we’ll die without knowing how. Fuck that old dog Lin! Let’s kill him!”

Dong Haobiao had remained silent throughout the journey. Now his face suddenly twisted. He raised his riot shotgun, grabbed the microphone, and roared.

“Floor the gas! Ram those shameless bastards to death! Fight them!”

At his command, their six modified vehicles accelerated and charged straight toward Lin Chengxun’s convoy.

Lin Chengxun had originally hoped to negotiate with Ma Gang and draw him to his side, since the matter had little to do with him.

But Dong Haobiao and Ma Gang’s men drove toward them like lunatics.

The moment Song Junshuang saw Dong Haobiao, he completely lost control. Ignoring Lin Chengxun’s orders, he floored the accelerator, raised his submachine gun, and drove directly at Dong Haobiao’s armored van.

Remembering his daughter’s miserable, tear-streaked face made Lin Chengxun lose his reason as well.

“Those bastards want us dead, so fight them! At worst, everyone dies together! Brothers, kill these shameless animals!”

Each side believed the other had plotted against it.

Each believed itself the helpless victim.

Each believed it was making a desperate final stand.

Both forces charged without fear of death.

CRASH!

CRASH!

CRASH!

Modified vehicles collided at high speed. Gunfire, war cries, and screams instantly filled the street.

“Kill them!”

“Charge!”

“Fight to the death!”

Men carrying machetes and clubs attacked one another, plunging the entire area into chaos.

Nearly half of both forces fell in the opening clash.

Everyone fought with the determination to trade one life for another, caring nothing for personal safety.

The battle was so brutal that even Xiao Yi, its true instigator, felt his blood boil with emotion.

“What passionate men! What fearless heroes! Even I’m getting excited!”

Xiao Yi wiped grease from his mouth with a napkin and leisurely lit a cigarette.

Watching two tigers fight from the safety of the mountain truly felt fucking wonderful.

Song Junshuang’s vehicle had been the first to collide. It was thrown into the air and rolled five or six meters before stopping.

When he regained consciousness, gunfire and shouting surrounded him.

He forced himself awake, smashed the window with his suppressed Type 05 submachine gun, and crawled out.

The moment he escaped, he saw Dong Haobiao climbing from another overturned vehicle.

Without a word, Song Junshuang fired a burst.

Dong Haobiao had received professional training for more than a decade. The instant he saw Song Junshuang, he rolled behind the vehicle.

Bullets hammered the metal.

Though he avoided most of them, one struck his left leg, drawing a miserable scream.

“Dong Haobiao! Fuck your mother! Even if I die today, I’m taking you with me!” Song Junshuang roared and continued firing.

Dong Haobiao rolled and returned fire.

BANG!

The modified shotgun’s tremendous blast riddled the vehicle door shielding Song Junshuang.

A stray pellet tore across the left side of Song Junshuang’s handsome face, opening a frightening gash. Blood streamed down his cheek.

It did nothing to weaken his resolve. He leaped forward while Dong Haobiao reloaded, firing continuously as he closed the distance.

With a bullet in his leg, Dong Haobiao could only lie on the ground. Under the barrage, even loading another shell became difficult. He failed several times.

Sweat poured from his forehead as Song Junshuang approached, and his hands trembled.

At last, he loaded the shell.

Too late.

Song Junshuang threw aside his empty submachine gun, drew his combat knife, and lunged.

Dong Haobiao fired wildly, then raised the shotgun to block the desperate stab.

Their eyes met, each seeing blazing hatred in the other.

“Song Junshuang! When the fuck did I offend you? Why are you trying so hard to kill me?” Dong Haobiao cursed as they grappled.

“You bastard! You dared touch my woman! If I don’t kill you today, I’m not a man!”

Song Junshuang attacked furiously and stabbed Dong Haobiao in the shoulder.

“Fuck! When did I ever touch your woman?” Dong Haobiao endured the pain and struggled beneath him. “You killed my son and framed Ma Chenbin! Now you’re accusing me of touching your people too?”
