Terrence couldn’t help but feel the corners of his mouth pull back into an uncontainable, massive grin. He finally received the grand rewards for building a physical storefront, and just as he expected, he didn’t even have to manually set any of it up.
All he had truly needed was the physical space itself, and the system reaped benefits that were entirely in his favor... as if the system would ever give him a reward that brought him a hard time.
Regardless, another major door was officially opened for unending potential.
"Stage 3 Unlocked. I got the Sanctuary Spatial Anchor Array, plus new functions like Customer Registration and Direct Core Exchange. I wonder how these things actually work, but maybe I’ll just stumble upon them in action later?"
Terrence sounded somewhat unsure to himself. To be completely honest, he wanted to test these new features right away, but on whom? He didn’t even have a single customer inside his store yet.
Despite all the daily shouting and local advertising he did, claiming he sold genuine beasts every single day, not a single soul had shown up on the very first official day of his business.
He could only laugh it off dryly, but it didn’t really matter to him anyway.
"I’ll study all of these later. For the meantime, let’s visit the Kinetic Alloy Beast Armory—the Lee Family’s primary Weaponry Leg—and start with the real plan."
Terrence held a clear map in his mind regarding the overarching strategy he and Klein had drafted.
He would go there directly and attempt to recruit the president to join his so-called ’force’ to overthrow the Lee Family. If that subtle approach failed, Klein would launch an all-out attack. But if it turned out the president was willing to betray the Lee Family, they would still stage an attack anyway—only this time, to forcibly shift the leadership and install someone they could easily control.
Terrence genuinely wanted to be a central part of it because the prospect was so deeply thrilling. To watch the core pillars of the Lee Family’s success crumble into dust was something he craved. However, the plan was still slightly lacking in finer details, specifically how Klein intended to nail his side of the execution.
In the end, all Terrence could do was trust in the primary force Klein possessed. As for the benefits, he could simply reap them alongside him; after all, they weren’t helping each other out of kindness, but purely because they shared the exact same goal of bringing the family down.
Terrence reached his hand out toward the front glass door when, completely out of nowhere, someone came rushing violently toward his store.
He couldn’t just leave his shop when a potential customer had suddenly arrived.
The intruder was a young girl, decently adorned in a simple tunic and a light pastel skirt featuring soft shades of blue and red. The moment she burst through the entrance, she was wildly gasping for air as if experiencing a dire emergency.
Terrence’s brows furrowed deeply as he stared at the young girl’s surprisingly familiar face.
"You’ve got to be kidding me. What kind of insane coincidence is this?" Terrence muttered under his breath. He left his wooden chair behind the counter to approach and aid the frantic customer.
"Please help me!" the girl cried out, her face pale with worry as she bent over to rest her hands on her knees, gasping desperately for air.
Terrence raised a hand in a calming gesture. "Calm down first. What is it I can help you with?" he asked, eyeing her striking features.
"Uhm... You are Terrence, right? The famous tamer who sells beasts? Can you please help me with something? I promise I will buy a beast directly from you in exchange for your service!"
Terrence stared down at her with a thoroughly confused expression.
"Er... I don’t really know what you mean by that."
Without missing a beat, the young girl shook her head frantically and reached out, grabbing his wrist with surprising force and physically tugging him toward the exit.
"I will explain everything on the way!"
"Okay, okay! Hold on!" Sensing the sheer urgency in her trembling grip, Terrence didn’t forget to quickly lock up the store’s glass door before being dragged away into the street.
Being aggressively pulled along by a girl who looked no older than ten years old felt undeniably awkward. Passing pedestrians were staring at them, especially directing glances at him filled with silent judgment.
’I’m not a pedophile! I don’t even know this kid!’ Terrence shouted inwardly, desperately looking for an easy way to escape from the girl’s frantic grip.
However, sensing that whatever was happening was indeed important, he could only suppress his annoyance and wait patiently for her explanation.
"I need you to fight someone for me," she blurted out as they hurried down the sidewalk. "While I haven’t awakened my own beast taming talent yet, I have the financial luxury to buy a high-grade beast. But I can only buy it if you fight against my master first! I made a bet with him that whatever beast manages to defeat his own creature will be the exact beast I get to purchase. And I just so happen to know that you sell beasts!"
Terrence let out an exhausted sigh at the surprisingly foolish scenario. Who in their right mind would make a blind wager like that on something so uncertain?
Whatever stupid reason had brought her to make such a reckless bet, he didn’t even want to learn it. He was honestly afraid his remaining brain cells would shrink the second he dug deeper into it.
"So... I just need to fight your master, huh? In what format? Is this an official duel or just a mini-duel?" Terrence asked, adjusting his stride alongside her.
The young girl shook her head, her face tightening with intense anxiety.
"You have to fight him in a full duel... but with your eyes completely closed."
