Soon, Hugh Finch finished his divination and slowly said two words, “Great fortune.”

“Then it seems there’s no danger,” Kai York said.

The group’s mood instantly relaxed.

Following the location Moira Lynch had previously locked onto, the four of them quickly made their way over.

However, there was nothing at that spot… or so it seemed.

Looking at the dense claw prints on the ground, it was clear that rock had been melted and then solidified again.

Many of the prints looked old, but there was one set of small footprints that was exceptionally fresh. The melted rock on the ground hadn’t even fully solidified yet.

Following this trail of footprints, Moira Lynch and the others soon found a cave.

Shane Rhodes and the other two looked at Moira Lynch and asked, “How is it? Can you sense anything?”

Faint breathing sounds emanated from the cave, confirming the presence of a living creature inside, but…

Moira Lynch shook her head. “I can only sense that it’s very hot inside, like there’s a pool of magma.”

If it weren’t for that fresh trail of small footprints, she would never have suspected this place.

With this in mind, Moira Lynch had the others step aside. Then, she used her spiritual power to lock onto the scalding hot blob inside and pulled it out.

SPLAT.

A fiery red, still-flowing blob of magma appeared before them.

But this magma looked somewhat different from real magma.

Patience’s voice shrieked in Moira Lynch’s ear, “Master, that’s a Magma Beast! It’s a super-super-super-super-rare creature!”

The excitement in its voice was palpable.

“A Magma Beast? What’s that?”

Patience began its explanation for Moira Lynch:

“The Magma Beast is a creature that likes to live in volcanoes. They get their name because their bodies resemble magma and they are always found near volcanoes.”

“Moira, what is this thing?” Kai York asked curiously.

“It’s a Magma Beast, a rare creature that lives near volcanoes.”

At this, Moira Lynch sighed. A small wooden stick appeared in her hand, and she crouched down to poke the Magma Beast, which was playing dead on the ground.

The moment the stick touched the Magma Beast, it began to burn.

“We might have to designate a rare creature nature preserve on this planet.”

Patience had just told her this. Because the Magma Beast was a super-super-super-super-rare creature, its status in the galaxy was equivalent to that of a giant panda in Cathaya. Therefore, upon discovery, it had to be reported, after which specialists would come to establish a preserve.

However, there was an upside. To provide the Magma Beast with a safe and comfortable habitat, The Interstellar Federation would provide a portion of the funds to help develop the planet.

In return, the vetting process would be much stricter.

But none of this was a problem. It was equivalent to her resort planet receiving the endorsement of The Interstellar Federation.

Just then, perhaps sensing no ill will from the group, the Magma Beast stopped playing dead.

It climbed up from the ground. The magma on its back transformed into soft, red fur. With a pair of large, round eyes, it now looked like a small hedgehog.

AWOO.

The Magma Beast let out a cry, then bit down on the wooden stick in Moira Lynch’s hand.

CRUNCH. The stick snapped in two.

Moira Lynch was stunned, and so was the Magma Beast.

Moira Lynch was worried the Magma Beast might choke if it accidentally swallowed the wood. The Magma Beast, on the other hand, hadn’t expected to snap the stick with such a light bite. It felt a little guilty. ‘Should I offer to pay for it?’ it wondered.

Having never seen a wooden stick before, the Magma Beast assumed it was something very important and began silently calculating what it could offer as compensation.

After observing it for a moment and confirming that the Magma Beast was fine, Moira Lynch relaxed and sent the photos and videos she had taken of it to the relevant department.

The response from the other end was very fast; they replied almost immediately.

After sending the message, Moira Lynch was about to say they might need to stay here for a while when she turned and saw Shane Rhodes, Kai York, and Hugh Finch gleefully playing with three small Magma Beasts.

Wait, three small ones!

She looked down and spotted two slightly larger Magma Beasts in the distance, looking extremely sneaky as they tiptoed toward a nearby volcanic crater.

“You two, freeze!”

Moira Lynch shouted.

Without any hesitation, the two discovered Magma Beasts bolted for the crater’s entrance and vanished in the blink of an eye.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch just let out a disappointed “Tsk.” ‘They weren’t intimidated at all. But even if the big ones are gone, there are still the three little ones…’

She was just about to say there were still the three little ones when she saw them scurry off as well, following their parents’ escape.

Watching the Magma Beasts disappear, Kai York scratched his head. “They’re all gone. Are we going to have trouble explaining this?”

“What’s there to have trouble explaining?” Moira Lynch shrugged. “It’s not like we lied.”

Even if those people couldn’t find the Magma Beasts in the end, they couldn’t blame them.

Since they couldn’t leave for now, the group decided to have some fun on the planet, treating it as an early trial run.

Moira Lynch had originally thought it would take those people a while to arrive. After all, her planet was in a rather remote location. Getting here should have taken them at least four or five days.

Unexpectedly, personnel from the Rare Animal Environmental Protection Bureau arrived in just half a day.

Because Magma Beasts are so incredibly rare and also possess the ability to pacify volcanoes, the people who came this time were from Apexia.

After inquiring about the location where the Magma Beasts had appeared, they immediately began their search. They became even more excited, their breathing growing rapid, when they heard it wasn’t just one, but a family of five.

“So, aren’t you a scientist? Why did you come along too?” Moira Lynch asked, looking doubtfully at Ellers, who had appeared alongside Yarrow.

One was a top scientist, the other a Marshal. As precious as the Magma Beasts were, it shouldn’t have been enough to bring two such important figures here at the same time.

What Moira Lynch didn’t know was that the Magma Beasts certainly couldn’t have summoned these two. They had come for her.

“So, Moira dear, what do you think of El? Is he good to you?”

The sound of Ellers’s pinched, sing-song voice made Moira Lynch shudder with revulsion.

“Just say what you need to say. Acting like this makes me want to punch you.”

Hearing Moira Lynch’s words, Ellers was momentarily embarrassed. But he’d always been thick-skinned, so a little awkwardness was nothing to him.
