Moira Lynch watched as the men cleaned out the Gilt Beetle’s innards and other parts, leaving only the outer armor and hide. She couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Are you going to sell these to the base?"

"Yeah," Drake said, continuing his work. "The Gilt Beetle’s carapace is incredibly hard. It can be used to make armor or weapons. And their hide is very tough too; it can be made into soft armor for protection."

After cleaning the Gilt Beetle and loading the parts onto their vehicle, the group set off again.

This time, Moira Lynch could clearly feel that the atmosphere in the vehicle had become much more subdued.

The biggest change was that the men no longer struck up casual conversations with her as they had before.

It took them a full day to reach the outskirts of the base.

Moira Lynch watched as Drake and the others expertly presented their badges to the guards at the gate and were allowed to pass.

However, since this was her first time at the base, the rules required her to spend twenty-four hours in the quarantine zone. Only after being confirmed to be fine could she enter the base proper.

This was a strict rule that no one could change, not even the base commander.

After arriving at the quarantine zone, Moira Lynch discovered it was composed of countless small rooms.

Just as she entered, she saw two fully armed individuals dragging a person with a savage expression out of the area.

She looked at the number in her hand, found the corresponding room, and went inside.

The room was dark, containing only a crude-looking bed made of wooden planks. Besides that, there was a bucket, which was presumably for use as a toilet.

Moira Lynch sat on the hard plank bed, which dug into her. After confirming there were no surveillance devices in the room, she began stuffing food into her mouth.

She had been with the others the entire journey and hadn’t had time to eat.

’Since no one’s here, I should hurry and eat more.’

In her hand, Moira Lynch held a black fruit that resembled a grape.

This fruit was called a Sublimation Fruit. Consuming it would enhance all aspects of a person’s physical resilience, such as their ability to withstand blows, their general resistance, and so on.

It was a fruit that provided a comprehensive boost, but its drawback was that one had to consume a large quantity for the effects to be significant.

After what happened during the day, Moira Lynch decided to focus on Sublimation Fruits for the time being, putting everything else aside.

Soon, twenty-four hours had passed. As the door to the quarantine room opened, Moira Lynch stood up from the bed with some difficulty.

Her previously flat abdomen was now slightly distended.

Moira Lynch rubbed her stomach and couldn’t help but let out a full burp.

The Sublimation Fruit not only looked like a grape but was also similar in other aspects. She now felt like her stomach was full of juice, making her stumble as she walked.

However, to avoid arousing suspicion from the people outside, Moira Lynch had to act as if nothing was wrong.

Moira Lynch hadn’t been idle during her twenty-four hours in quarantine. She had used her spiritual power to scan the entire base and now had a good grasp of the rules of the place.

After entering the base, Moira Lynch planned to find a place to live first, then contact Hugh Finch and the others to regroup. After all, they still had to find this world’s savior.

Just then, a commotion broke out not far away.

Someone in the crowd shouted, "Captain Zane, you’re amazing! You always come back with a full haul. What prey did you bring back this time?"

Hearing this, the man called Captain Zane laughed heartily. "Just got lucky. Ran into a lone Tricorn Beast."

"Heavens, a Tricorn Beast! Captain Zane, you really are lucky. That must be worth a lot of money. You could probably retire right now!"

’Tricorn Beast? What’s a Tricorn Beast? What are they talking about?’

Moira Lynch looked toward the crowd, wanting to see what kind of creature this Captain Zane had caught to attract such a large audience.

However, the crowd was too dense. No matter how she craned her neck, Moira Lynch couldn’t see what was happening inside. Resigned, she could only wait for them to come closer to get a look.

After a little while, the crowd finally drew near.

There were still many people gathered around, but through a gap in the crowd, Moira Lynch finally got a clear look at the so-called Tricorn Beast. It was a Triceratops.

’Wait, this world not only has giant insects, but it has dinosaurs too?’

As the vehicle passed by her, Moira Lynch fell into deep thought.

According to the information she’d gotten from Drake and his crew, insect meat couldn’t be eaten because it was corrosive. Not only was it inedible, but one had to be extremely careful even when processing it.

Although the insects were inedible, their armor and hides were valuable.

These dinosaurs, on the other hand, were clearly edible and very popular.

Averting her gaze, Moira Lynch continued her search for a place to stay.

From her scouting yesterday, she already knew that transactions within the base were conducted using Contribution Points. Of course, bartering was also an option, but very few people did it, as it was difficult for both parties to agree on an equal exchange.

Moira Lynch thought for a moment and decided to exchange something for some Contribution Points first.

Due to severe water pollution, even after multiple layers of filtration, drinking the water directly was still risky; it had to be boiled.

Under these circumstances, it was very easy for someone like Moira Lynch, who possessed an Ice Talent, to earn Merit Points.

She went to the acquisition station and told a staff member what she wanted. The person politely led her into a cellar.

According to the regulations, one cubic meter of ice could be exchanged for one Contribution Point.

Since her time was limited, and two days had already passed on the road and in quarantine—making it the third day now—Moira Lynch didn’t plan to exchange for too many Contribution Points. A hundred should be enough.

After successfully creating one hundred one-cubic-meter blocks of ice, Moira Lynch took the one hundred Contribution Points she had just received and spent ten of them to rent a house.

The house was just an empty shell. There was nothing inside, not even a bed. If she wanted anything, she would have to buy it herself.

After a moment’s thought, Moira Lynch pulled several thick military greatcoats out of her space, spread them on the floor, and lay down on them.

She was so full she felt like she would burst and didn’t want to move at all. ’Everything else can wait until the stuff in my stomach has digested a bit,’ she thought.

Lying flat to make her stomach feel a little more comfortable, Moira Lynch opened her Intelligent Brain to contact the other three.

[Moira Lynch: I’ve found the base. Hurry over and regroup with me.]

[Hugh Finch: I’m already on my way. I should get there today.]

[Moira Lynch: Before you can enter the base, you have to go through a twenty-four-hour quarantine.]

[Kai York: How are you guys having such an easy time?]
