Chapter 651: Chapter 641: Leaving

By the time Moira Lynch opened her eyes again, the food she had ordered was on the table.

The other people in the restaurant didn’t notice anything unusual, assuming she had simply been resting with her eyes closed.

She picked up her chopsticks and tasted the food. Honestly, it was mediocre—not good, but not terrible either.

She ate her meal methodically. Suddenly, the sound of a distant explosion echoed, and the resulting shockwave made the ground tremble.

Many patrons, drawn by the sound, went outside to see what was happening. Others, uninterested, kept their heads down and continued eating.

“That sounds like it’s coming from the direction of the research institute,” someone in the crowd remarked.

Moira Lynch had wanted to hear their thoughts on the institute, but the speaker fell silent after that one sentence.

She observed the expressions of those around her. Any initial surprise had vanished, as if explosions were a perfectly ordinary occurrence.

After ten minutes, she had cleaned her plate. Moira Lynch elegantly drew a napkin from the dispenser, wiped her mouth, then stood, paid her bill, and left the restaurant.

She was heading back to the hotel to lie low when she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Her original plan was to wait on Javell until the game concluded before figuring out an escape. However, she wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to leave safely ahead of schedule.

According to the information just relayed by the Heavenly Eye, her raids on the warehouses of the three major gangs had not only caused them heavy losses but had also thrown the power dynamics on Javell into chaos.

The three major gangs now suspected one another of sabotage. Some were even deliberately muddying the waters, hoping to profit from the confusion.

As a result, capturing Moira Lynch, the actual culprit, was no longer their top priority.

On Javell, the three gangs had to watch each other’s backs, each looking for a chance to expose the others. Meanwhile, in the shadows, plenty of others were preparing to make their move.

Sensing that things were going south, the wealthy merchants and nobles who had come to Javell for shopping and auctions were now choosing to leave.

These individuals traveled in private spaceships, their safety assured.

The sticking point for Moira Lynch, however, was their destination.

These wealthy nobles would surely be heading straight home—to private estates, for the most part. The chances of her being discovered there would be much higher.

‘I’d better wait,’ Moira Lynch decided.

Back at the hotel, she maneuvered the Heavenly Eye through the skies above Javell, searching for a way out and filling in the gaps in her intelligence.

‘This one’s no good… neither is this one. That ship has the exclusive emblem of The Royal Court, so that’s out.’

Just as Moira Lynch was eliminating the last of the potential ships, she suddenly sensed something and shot up in bed.

Just two meters away from her, space itself began to warp.

‘Is someone coming? Or have I been found?’

Moira Lynch’s sense of alarm skyrocketed. A throwing knife materialized in her hand, ready to be thrown the instant someone appeared.

As the spatial distortions intensified, a figure struggled to squeeze through from the other side.

“Kai York!”

Staring at the person who had just appeared before her, Moira Lynch wondered if her eyes were deceiving her.

‘Why is Kai York here? Did he cause that spatial ripple? No, wait… when did Kai York awaken a Space Talent?’

Kai York, for his part, was also stunned to see Moira. He only confirmed her identity when he heard her familiar voice.

“I finally made it! Quick, come back with me.” Kai York reached out to grab Moira Lynch’s hand.

Moira instinctively reached out as well. “Wait, why are you here?”

“Oh, about that,” Kai York explained. “We weren’t comfortable leaving you on Javell alone. Remember that cube we got from the pirates? Well, Hugh Finch managed to restore a high-level one that could grant a single wish.”

“So you wished to bring me back?” Moira Lynch asked.

“That wasn’t the first wish. At first, we wished for it to teleport you directly from Javell to Veridian Prime, but that was rejected. Hugh Finch tried a few more times and finally managed to open a spatial tunnel between Veridian Prime and Javell. But it can only stay open for about ten minutes, so we have to move fast.”

With that, Kai York pulled Moira Lynch toward the spatial tunnel and they plunged inside.

Upon entering the tunnel, Moira Lynch’s first impression was how cramped it was. The passage was so tight they had to get on their stomachs and crawl to move forward.

“This is way too tight! Couldn’t you have wished for a bigger tunnel?”

“No time for complaints. This was the best it could do.”

Though only three minutes had passed, it felt like an eternity to Moira Lynch. In the narrow confines of the spatial tunnel, even taking a normal breath felt like a luxury.

Thankfully, the exit was just ahead, and Moira Lynch couldn’t help but quicken her pace.

The very moment she exited the spatial tunnel, the ten-minute timer ran out.

With a sharp, crystalline shattering sound, the tunnel behind them disintegrated into motes of dust and vanished.

“Hahaha, I’m back!”

Looking at the familiar faces and surroundings, Moira Lynch put her hands on her hips and laughed heartily.

“Oh, right! I brought back a lot of good stuff.”

“What kind of stuff?” Kai York asked.

“You’ll see in a moment. Let’s go outside. There’s too much to fit in this room,” Moira Lynch said, heading for the door.

Once outside, she turned to the three behind her. “The three of you should contact the base. Tell them I have a batch of brand-new weapons and spaceships for them to pick up.”

“We can do that,” said Shane Rhodes. “But what are the exact numbers?”

Moira Lynch thought for a moment. “A few thousand, probably. They’re all small Combat Spaceships, the kind fully loaded with weaponry.”

“A few thousand? Did you clean out all of Javell?” Hugh Finch joked.

Moira Lynch, however, nodded seriously. “If I didn’t empty it out, I came pretty close. They don’t deserve any sympathy, though. They’re the ones who kidnapped me, after all.

This fleet is fresh off the production line and equipped with the latest weapons. I heard they were a custom order for some pirates, too.”

After they reached an open field, Moira Lynch began pulling things she thought might be useful out of her storage space, one by one.

She left some of the larger, more cumbersome items inside, not taking them out.
