Although the nutrient liquid meant they didn’t have to worry about food, it still felt strange not to eat something when mealtime came around.

After learning that Moira Lynch and Shane Rhodes would be back by evening, the two men didn’t try to stop them.

One of them said, "Barring any surprises, another batch of Superpower Users will be sent over tonight, so please, you must return safely."

Previously, they had let the severely injured fend for themselves, not because they were cold-blooded and didn’t want to help, but because they simply didn’t have the ability to.

Even sending in a Healing Superpower User would only prolong their deaths.

Rather than that, it was better to assign the Healing Superpower Users to more important positions.

But Moira Lynch’s appearance brought a glimmer of hope to the situation.

The people she had treated yesterday showed no signs of discomfort so far.

Some even reported that not only were their wounds healed, but old, hidden injuries and internal damage from previous missions had also vanished.

They were now even healthier than they had been before the apocalypse.

After hearing this news, the base leader started getting ideas about the other bases.

Dawnlight Base was in contact with several other bases. They all knew of each other’s situations, and they were all at their wit’s end regarding the large number of Superpower Users who were dying or getting injured every day.

Clearly, in this apocalypse, the zombies held the absolute advantage.

The leader of Dawnlight Base had already contacted the other bases, offering to take in their injured Superpower Users.

Then, once they were healed, he would absorb them all into his own forces, and Dawnlight Base would become the strongest base.

Hearing that another batch of injured would be arriving tonight, Moira Lynch’s eyes lit up. She replied, "We’ll be back on time."

In fact, the place they were going wasn’t far. Getting back would only take a few Instant Teleportations.

On the flat, yellow earth, if anyone had been there to see it, they would have witnessed two figures running at an incredible speed—so fast that only their afterimages were visible.

"This is the first time I’ve ever run this fast," Moira Lynch said as she ran.

After all, even when she was in a hurry, there were usually vehicles available. And when there weren’t, flying or using Instant Teleportation were both good ways to travel.

So why were they running now? The answer: they were bored and wanted to stretch their legs.

Their destination was a city not far from Dawnlight Base.

After the zombie outbreak, this city had been completely overrun. It was teeming with wandering zombies, and there were even high-level ones roaming about.

For the people here, until one possessed formidable strength, this place was strictly a no-go zone for humans.

As early as last night, Moira Lynch’s spiritual power had already scanned the city’s situation. She had even discovered a level-three Spiritual Zombie within its walls.

A level-three zombie already possessed intelligence. A Spiritual Zombie, in particular, could even control other zombies to form a sizable zombie horde.

For Moira Lynch, however, the Crystal Core of a level-three zombie was a great prize.

After entering the city, they didn’t engage the zombies directly. After all, if the level-three zombie heard the commotion, it might just run away.

Moira Lynch used her spiritual power to lock onto the zombie’s location, and then she and Shane Rhodes hurried toward the target.

「Ten minutes later.」

The two of them arrived outside a high-end club.

"The level-three zombie is in there?" Shane Rhodes asked.

Moira Lynch nodded, her brow furrowed and her expression turning solemn.

"I remember you said before that zombification is a form of evolution. That if they reach a high enough level, they can return to their normal appearance."

Hearing this, Moira Lynch nodded again. "That’s true, but The Federation has long since denied this form of evolution. Although the final evolved form of a zombie, the Corpse Emperor, looks human, they are actually two different species. There’s reproductive isolation between them."

Just as the two were about to enter the club, Moira Lynch suddenly stopped Shane Rhodes.

"What’s wrong?"

"Something’s not right. It’s not just one level-three zombie in there; there are at least seven or eight of them. And there’s a level-five zombie hidden inside, too."

Hearing Moira Lynch say there was a level-five zombie inside, Shane Rhodes’s expression darkened. He knew that the two of them were only level four.

"Should we give up?" Shane Rhodes said.

He had subconsciously equated the zombie’s level with The Federation’s classification for Talents. Against a level-five Talent, they would be completely outmatched.

Moira Lynch saw what he was thinking and explained, "No need. The zombie-leveling system is different from ours. A level-five zombie is only equivalent to about our level three. Besides, if we don’t deal with it now, it will target Dawnlight Base sooner or later."

"Those level-three zombies inside were probably captured by this level-five to be used as food. But compared to other zombies, human flesh is far more attractive to them."

"So what do we do now? Are we still going in?" Shane Rhodes asked.

"We’re not going in. I’ll draw it out."

As Moira Lynch spoke, a white light flashed in her eyes. Tens of thousands of hair-thin strands of spiritual power enveloped the entire club. The next second, a man in a tattered but well-tailored suit appeared before them. His face was a ghastly pale blue, and his eyes were completely white.

When he appeared, this elegant Mr. Zombie was still in the middle of his previous action: slowly savoring a glass of red wine.

Seeing his refined leisure disturbed, Mr. Zombie’s expression soured.

"You... deserve to die!"

Seeing the expression on Mr. Zombie’s face twist with savagery, Moira Lynch said to Shane Rhodes beside her, "Don’t make a move this time. Let me handle this."

Without another word, she released Snowy.

Ever since the last "game" ended, Snowy had evolved into its complete form. Moira Lynch had been wanting to test Snowy in a real battle, and this level-five zombie was the perfect opponent.

A white figure flew out from Moira Lynch’s body, pouncing toward Mr. Zombie.

In its complete form, Snowy had a significant advantage against a level-five zombie.

However, this was Snowy’s first battle. Lacking combat experience, it couldn’t fully leverage its advantage. Instead, it became entangled with the level-five Mr. Zombie, and the fight was a back-and-forth struggle.

Moira Lynch wasn’t worried about Snowy’s safety. She turned to Shane Rhodes and said, "Let’s go. We’ll take care of the remaining zombies. The level-five locked them in a room to kill each other."

"Kill each other?"
