Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 624 - 614: Zombie 9
Perhaps because he hadn’t spoken in a long time, the young man’s voice was dry and hoarse, sounding quite unpleasant.
But this didn’t diminish the old man’s excitement. "Young Master, how are you feeling?"
"Grandpa Butler, why have you suddenly gotten so old?"
The young man looked at the familiar yet strange old man before him, then tried to move his body. He felt that he was in excellent condition now—better than ever before.
After healing the young man, Moira Lynch left with Shane Rhodes, taking, of course, the double consultation fee the old man had promised.
Moreover, the young man was extremely grateful to Moira Lynch for healing him and promised to help her advertise once his body had fully recovered.
After all, he had been bedridden for three years. Although Moira Lynch had healed him, there were many things, like walking, that he needed to relearn from scratch.
Moira Lynch wasn’t worried about this. After all, quality speaks for itself.
After leaving the hospital, the two didn’t go back right away. She planned to buy a few single beds and some shelves, striving to maximize the space in her Space Button.
However, after looking around, they couldn’t find what they wanted.
"Actually, I don’t think it’s a big deal to have them lie on the floor. We can just lay down a few more rugs. Besides, I think laying down rugs would save more space," Shane Rhodes persuaded her.
Moira Lynch was easily convinced. ’That does make sense.’
Coincidentally, they had passed a shop selling yoga mats when they were walking through the commercial street earlier.
After buying twenty yoga mats, they returned to their residence to find a man waiting anxiously outside. Lying on the ground was another person, hovering between life and death.
When the man saw them approaching, he asked excitedly, "Which one of you is the Healing Superpower User?"
Moira Lynch raised her hand. "I am."
"That’s great! Please, save my big brother! He’s seriously injured. Here’s the fee."
Without another word, the man handed a cloth-wrapped bundle to Moira Lynch.
She swept it with her spiritual power and confirmed it was indeed one hundred Crystal Cores.
After accepting the Crystal Cores, Moira Lynch went to check the injured man’s condition.
His limbs were twisted at unnatural angles, clearly broken beyond recognition. His entire face was caved in, his eyeballs had burst, and his tongue was lolling out, severed, with blood gushing out.
From the looks of it, he had clearly been smashed in the face with a single punch.
But for him to still be alive with such heavy injuries, not having bled to death, was a miracle in itself.
Soon, the patient’s companion answered Moira Lynch’s unspoken question.
It turned out they had gone to see that Miss White first.
However, her ability was limited. She could only keep him from dying for the time being and was powerless to do anything more.
Then, someone in the crowd mentioned Moira Lynch, and clutching at straws, he had come here.
Given how gruesome the man’s injuries were, Moira Lynch didn’t want him dirtying her floor, so she simply began the treatment right there on the spot.
As a ball of Healing Flame descended, the injuries on his face healed quickly. Then it was time for his limbs.
Before treating them, Moira Lynch turned to Shane Rhodes. "Shane, help me position his limbs."
Hearing this, Shane Rhodes glanced at Moira Lynch, his expression seeming to say, ’So you’re too grossed out to do it and you’re making me do it? You think I’m not?’
Thoughts were thoughts; Shane Rhodes still obediently stepped forward and straightened the patient’s twisted limbs.
Next, Moira Lynch tapped each of his limbs a couple of times.
A moment later, amidst the profuse thanks of the injured man and the shocked gaze of his companion, Moira Lynch and Shane Rhodes entered the house.
"With those two spreading the word, it won’t be long before a lot of people come looking for your treatment. So, are you still planning to cooperate with the officials?"
Shane Rhodes was talking about the Purification Crystal Core matter.
This wasn’t Caelus, after all, and they were just passing through. They would be leaving in a little over ten days, and Shane Rhodes didn’t want Moira Lynch to take such a risk.
"Besides, you’ll be healing people and purifying Crystal Cores. Are you sure you can handle it? Even with the nutrient liquid, the supply is limited."
Hearing the worry in Shane Rhodes’s tone, Moira Lynch said, "I know what you’re worried about. I never said I was going to cooperate with them right now. Let’s wait. At least until Kai York and Hugh Finch get here to meet up with us."
By then, even if the other party turned hostile, they wouldn’t be afraid.
Knowing that Moira Lynch hadn’t lost her senses just for the sake of getting more Crystal Cores, Shane Rhodes finally relaxed.
"Also, that guy just now made me realize I made a wrong decision," Moira Lynch said suddenly.
"What wrong decision?" Shane Rhodes asked, confused.
"You probably noticed when you first entered Dawnlight Base. The guards at the gate are extremely strict. You can’t have a single wound on you. Those who are seriously injured are absolutely not allowed into Dawnlight Base unless they survive a forty-eight-hour quarantine period."
At this, Shane Rhodes understood what Moira Lynch meant.
Those who were grievously injured would likely die or turn into zombies during that waiting period. How could they possibly survive to come to her for treatment?
What’s more, some cold-blooded Superpower User teams would simply abandon their injured comrades.
"So what are you going to do?"
"Change locations, of course. There’s a saying, ’If the mountain will not come to me, I must go to the mountain.’ Is that how it goes? Oh, whatever, it means the same thing. We can just go to the base entrance."
With a backpack, a cat, a clean yoga mat, a freshly written sign, and two small folding stools, the two of them set off.
Arriving at the base entrance, they saw a long line had already formed, all people waiting to enter the city.
Among them were quite a few injured people. Their faces were pale and their eyes were dull. Even knowing they would likely be quarantined, they were still unwilling to give up and wanted to try their luck.
Moira Lynch found a spot not far away. After setting everything up, she took out the sign.
The sign read: [100% REMOVAL OF ZOMBIE VIRUS AND HEALING OF EXTERNAL WOUNDS. ONLY 100 CRYSTAL CORES PER SESSION, OR TRADE FOR OTHER VALUABLES.
P.S. THE STALL OWNER RETAINS THE FINAL RIGHT OF INTERPRETATION AND APPRAISAL REGARDING THE VALUE OF ALL ITEMS.]
The moment Moira Lynch’s sign came out, it instantly attracted a lot of attention.
One hundred Crystal Cores was not a small sum, but for a Superpower User, it wasn’t unacceptable.
The crowd members looked at each other. After a moment, one person was the first to step forward, walking toward Moira Lynch.
Arriving in front of Moira Lynch, the man held out his arm. On it was a terrifying bite mark that had nearly severed the entire limb.
"Can this be healed?"
