Chapter 435 - 425: Sailing Carnival 27

Recalling what Moira Lynch had said earlier, Keith felt there was only one possibility.

But then again, it made sense. Moira Lynch didn’t look very old, and even with the person beside her, their combined ages probably didn’t even add up to Laina Carlton’s.

An image immediately formed in Keith’s mind: two small, helpless souls who had accidentally run into two vicious, wanted criminals and were forced to fight back when their lives were threatened.

If Moira Lynch knew what Keith was thinking right now, she would surely pat him on the shoulder and tell him in a heartfelt tone that yes, they were forced to fight back, but it was nothing like what he was imagining.

"It wasn’t poison. I just disrupted the balance and visual systems in their brains, and gave them a little stimulation on the side."

The "stimulation" Moira Lynch mentioned was, of course, not verbal.

She wasn’t very familiar with the current level of interstellar medical technology, but in any case, she knew she couldn’t cure their condition.

Patience had said that by Caelus’s medical standards, the two could already be declared brain-dead.

Even with interstellar medical technology, while there was a chance of them waking up, it was only about seven percent. Moreover, it would require a massive investment of resources, manpower, and materials—hardly worth it for two wanted criminals.

After hearing what Moira Lynch said, Keith was so shocked his jaw dropped. ’What in the world did I just hear?!’

After a long moment, he finally came to his senses and said, "Alright, I understand the situation. I’ll arrange for people to give them a medical examination."

He said that, but in reality, Keith didn’t take the matter to heart. He figured he’d just have someone give them a cursory check after he got back.

After all, to become Class-A wanted criminals, one had to have blood on their hands. Every single one of them was a vicious monster.

If they wasted medical resources on two people like that, they would be flamed to death on the Astranet.

In any case, even if they were cured, they’d still face the death penalty. It didn’t make much difference whether they were treated or not.

Keith handed over a black and gold card. "This is the bounty."

Moira Lynch took the card.

The moment it was in her hand, she felt an unusual weight. ’Is this the weight of money?’ she wondered.

After putting the card away, Moira Lynch seemed to suddenly remember something. With another wave of her hand, several large chests appeared in the room.

"I found all this in those two’s room. I brought it all along, so I’ll hand it over to you now."

Keith opened one of the chests and glanced inside. He immediately understood what he was looking at, and his expression turned serious. "Rest assured," he said, "we will handle these items with the utmost gravity. We won’t betray your trust."

Seeing his reaction, Moira Lynch was a bit baffled. ’Why did he suddenly get so serious?’

However, she didn’t dwell on it. She turned to look for Kai York but couldn’t find him.

Only then did she realize that Kai York hadn’t followed her inside.

Stepping out of the room and glancing around, Moira Lynch quickly located Kai York, who was gawking at his surroundings like a bumpkin visiting The Grand Arboretum.

His eyes were filled with pure adoration for the spaceship.

She’d already witnessed how obsessed Kai York was with spaceships back when he was opening blind boxes.

He couldn’t afford the battle-damaged ships, so he’d frantically bought spaceship blind boxes, hoping he could piece together a ship of his own.

But as everyone knows, that was impossible.

Without exception, he failed. This time, not even Moira Lynch could help him.

"Kai York."

Hearing his name called, Kai York looked over and saw Moira Lynch waving at him. Knowing it was time to leave, he reluctantly tore his gaze away.

Arriving at Moira Lynch’s side, he said softly, "Let’s go."

"Mm."

The two were escorted off the spaceship.

Flapping the wings on his back, Kai York sighed as he watched the spaceship disappear from view.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch patted his shoulder and consoled him, "Don’t be discouraged. As long as you’re willing to work hard, one day..."

"...I’ll be able to own a spaceship like that, too," Kai York finished.

Moira Lynch shot him a deadpan look. "It’s the middle of the night. Stop daydreaming. A spaceship of this class can’t be purchased by an individual."

"And taking a huge step back, even if you did buy one, a single person could never pilot it."

The two slowly descended, returning to the surface of the sea. Looking around, Kai York asked, "How are we supposed to find them now?"

Moira Lynch glanced around, then pointed in a direction after a moment. "This way."

The cargo ship was fast, but thankfully, it hadn’t left the range of her spiritual power. Locking onto its position wasn’t difficult.

And even if it did leave her range, she wasn’t worried. She had left a Golden Celestial Eye on the cargo ship.

The pair flapped their wings and gave chase, finally catching up to the cargo ship just as the sky was beginning to brighten.

The players on deck saw Moira Lynch and Kai York descend from the sky, and their eyes all went wide with shock.

"You’re not dead!"

A shrill voice cried out from nearby.

Hearing the voice, Moira Lynch turned to see a disheveled figure with bloodshot eyes charging toward her. When they were still five meters away, a bolt of purple lightning forced them to a halt.

Staring at the newcomer, Moira Lynch took a long moment before she recognized the person as MoonlitTears.

’How did she end up like this after just one night?’

"Good thing you’re back. If you’d been any later, someone was about to divide up your inheritance," Joy Rhodes said sarcastically.

"Divide up my inheritance?"

’All my things are in my inventory. What is there to divide?’

But she quickly realized that the "inheritance" Joy Rhodes was talking about was her two fishing rods.

Moira Lynch scanned the crowd and saw her two fishing rods, now in the hands of two unfamiliar but very strong-looking players.

The pair seemed to notice Moira Lynch’s gaze. Their eyes filled with wariness as they tightened their grip on the fishing rods and couldn’t help but take a few steps back.

To look at them, you’d think the fishing rods were theirs and Moira Lynch was the one trying to snatch them.

Moira Lynch said coolly, "I don’t care who has the fishing rods, as long as the fish are divided evenly according to our agreement."

Having just come into three hundred fifty million, she was in a good mood. She didn’t mind cutting them some slack, provided, of course, that her share wasn’t diminished.

Just then, Caden York suddenly spoke up. "You fell into the sea and then flew for so long. You must be tired. Go back to your rooms and rest. We can discuss everything else after you’ve woken up."

Hearing this, the other players also took the hint and dispersed.

But after returning to her room, Moira Lynch didn’t go to sleep right away. Instead, she took out the Black Gold Card.

Only then did she notice that the card’s surface wasn’t smooth. It was uneven and looked as if it were crafted from some kind of ore.
