This was why, despite many people searching for the village chief’s daughter, they couldn’t find a single trace of her.

Some persistent players tried searching in other villages, but for some unknown reason, every village chief they found either had no children at all, or only had sons.

Even NPCs who were originally daughters had turned into sons overnight.

Seeing that they were all ignoring her, Moira Lynch thought, ’I should just finish up the last part of the process and get out of here.’

"Aside from those three items, take these as well."

As she spoke, Moira Lynch gave a wave of her hand, and a blinding golden light descended.

When the golden light faded completely, Moira Lynch’s figure had vanished as well, leaving only a large pile of equipment on the ground.

Everyone went forward to inspect it. Seeing the equipment, they exclaimed in delight, "This is the gear that was taken from other players, right? I can’t believe we got it all back after defeating the boss!"

Although the equipment originally had owners, it was stolen by the boss, making the Azure Conch its new owner. Now that they had defeated the Azure Conch, the items naturally belonged to them.

As for returning the items and equipment to their original owners... well, that thought hadn’t even crossed their minds.

After they divided all the equipment, they dealt with the three remaining items. The key and the map were given to Lily for safekeeping.

The last item was the Space Bracelet. To be honest, it was a tricky problem.

The prospect of materializing Special Items into the real world was tempting, but three thousand Real Exchange Coupons was clearly a price they couldn’t afford.

Even their backing families combined would likely be unable to scrounge up three thousand Real Exchange Coupons.

It felt like a liability to keep, but they couldn’t bring themselves to sell it.

’If only it weren’t a special item,’ they thought.

Moira Lynch, meanwhile, had no idea what a dilemma she’d created for them. She was gleefully reviewing her final acting assignment.

She had wanted to request to finish her shift early, but the system instantly rejected her request.

Resigned, Moira Lynch had no choice but to continue working.

Her final required NPC role was a Snow Maiden who lived in a land of ice and snow.

Fair skin, white hair, and light blue pupils—the appearance was remarkably similar to her own.

This was a special NPC, and Moira Lynch’s task was to play her for twenty-four consecutive hours, including through the night.

After seeing the conditions of the assignment, Moira Lynch was very glad she hadn’t clocked out early. ’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had any time to rest at all tomorrow.’

She opened the Snow Maiden’s profile.

[Snow Maiden: A spirit born from ice and snow. From the moment of their birth, they possess the ability to control ice and snow. They are the true favored children of winter, kind by nature, and often rescue those who get lost in the snow.]

[Recently, The Northlands is about to face a once-in-a-century blizzard. Please play the role of the Snow Maiden and rescue as many trapped players as possible.]

After reading the mission description, Moira Lynch figured it wouldn’t be too difficult.

Her in-game body had also carried over all of her previously acquired abilities.

In other words, all the blessings Moira Lynch had received from the Snow Sprites were carried over as well.

’This Snow Maiden mission is practically tailor-made for me,’ she thought. ’It’s just that the duration is a bit long, a full twenty-four hours.’

’But the good thing is, by starting now, I’ll still have a decent amount of time left over after the assignment ends.’

With that thought, Moira Lynch clicked "Confirm."

Moira Lynch’s vision flashed white, and she was immediately hit by a biting chill.

However, the cold sensation didn’t last long before Moira Lynch grew accustomed to it.

She looked down at her hands. Her skin was slowly turning paler, and her clothes had changed into the white robes from the profile picture.

She looked around at the vast expanse of white, and for a moment, Moira Lynch wondered if she had returned to Glacius.

The blizzard hadn’t started yet, so for now, her assistance wasn’t required.

In the distance, Moira Lynch saw two people waving at her.

’Players.’

Moira Lynch didn’t respond. With a mere thought, her body began to sink slowly, and soon, she had completely merged with the surrounding snow.

When the two heavily-armed players saw the figure vanish, they thought their eyes were playing tricks on them.

"Weird, I swear I just saw someone in the distance."

"You must have seen things. Who else would be out here besides the two of us?" the other player said, pulling his clothes tighter around him.

"I really did! Even if you don’t trust my eyes, you should trust my skill."

To prove he was right, the pair walked for over ten minutes and finally reached the spot where Moira Lynch had been standing.

But there was no one there—not even a single footprint.

"See? Nothing. I told you you were seeing things."

The first player still insisted he wasn’t mistaken. "Impossible. I saw her clearly. She was wearing all white, and even her hair was white."

"If that’s the case, then what you saw probably wasn’t a person. It was a Snow Maiden."

"A Snow Maiden? What’s that?"

His companion looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Don’t tell me you skipped the mission briefing again."

The player scratched her head sheepishly. "There were too many words. I couldn’t be bothered to read it all. Besides, that’s what I’ve got you for, right?"

Hearing this, her companion sighed. "The Snow Maiden is also known as the ill omen of The Northlands, because their appearance always heralds a blizzard."

"Oh, so that’s what it is. If what I saw just now really was a Snow Maiden, doesn’t that mean a blizzard is about to hit?"

"Exactly. We need to move fast and finish our mission before the storm arrives."

After the two of them left, Moira Lynch poked her head out of the snow.

She had heard their entire conversation.

What they said was the complete opposite of the information in her briefing.

But after a moment’s thought, Moira Lynch understood why.

’It’s just like with crows,’ she mused. ’They try to warn humans because they can foresee disaster, but instead, they’re branded as ominous birds that bring misfortune.’

’The Snow Maidens’ situation is probably similar.’

’And while a Snow Maiden has the ability to control ice and snow, the power of nature is terrifying. It’s beyond what any mortal can resist, and that includes Snow Maidens.’

Just as Moira Lynch was about to check out another area, a voice suddenly whispered to her from the ice and snow.

"The blizzard... the blizzard is coming... so scary, so scary..."

As the voice faded, a wind suddenly began to blow across the once-calm Northlands.
