Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 355 - 345: Snow-Melting Power Generator
These people would side with the scammed players one moment, then with the "flrst" shop the next. They seemed to be speaking up for each side, but in reality, they were just stoking the flames.
On this seemingly ordinary day, Moira Lynch’s Elf Tree House was quietly listed for sale.
The first to notice, naturally, were those who were constantly keeping an eye on Moira Lynch’s shop.
After seeing it was the Elf Tree House, they began buying them while also reporting the matter to their superiors.
It was a mad dash.
After listing the Elf Tree House, Moira Lynch didn’t pay it any more mind.
Seeing Hugh Finch heading out with snow-clearing tools, Moira Lynch decided to follow him.
"Where are Shane Rhodes and Kai York? Why haven’t I seen them?" Moira Lynch asked.
Hugh Finch wore a strange expression. "The two of them are working hard generating power so as not to waste the blessing."
Recalling what Kai York had said that morning, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Seeing this, Hugh Finch also chuckled. "I just did a divination for those two. The signs show they’ll come into a small fortune soon, but it won’t be very kind to their bodies."
"Did you tell them the results of your divination?" Moira Lynch asked curiously.
"Of course not," Hugh Finch said self-righteously. "If I told them, it wouldn’t come true."
Hearing this, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but give Hugh Finch a thumbs-up.
’You’re something else.’
As the two were talking, a sound came from the stairwell. They turned to see Kai York leaning down from upstairs, holding two detectors that looked like mine sweepers.
"Are you two going out to clear snow?" Kai York asked.
Hugh Finch brandished the snow-clearing tool in his hand. "If not to clear snow, what then? To build a snowman?"
"Perfect. Don’t use that to clear the snow, use these." As he spoke, Kai York shoved the detectors into their hands.
"How do you use this?" Moira Lynch asked, looking at the device in her hand. She already knew from Patience that it was a simple version of a Melting Snow Power Generator.
Still, she had to play dumb.
"This is a simple handheld version of the Melting Snow Power Generator. Just hold it near snow and it’ll start automatically. Take these batteries, too. And don’t come back until every single one is fully charged."
Hearing this, Moira Lynch immediately sensed something was off. "Weren’t you and Shane Rhodes handling this? What’s going on now?"
A flicker of guilt crossed Kai York’s eyes. "Well, you see... I got a little too excited and took on too many orders. Could you two help me out?"
Kai York was promptly rewarded with two pairs of rolled eyes.
Moira Lynch and Hugh Finch left with the Melting Snow Power Generators.
And they had to admit, using the Melting Snow Power Generators made clearing snow much faster and easier.
But soon enough, they changed their minds.
The principle behind the Melting Snow Power Generator was to convert the energy produced when snow melts into electricity.
But this process, in addition to electricity, also produced a lot of water.
This water collected in a container inside the generator, but containers inevitably get full.
And sure enough, before they had been using them for long, the generators were full and emitted a "BEEP BEEP BEEP" sound.
Immediately after, a bottle the size of a mineral water bottle was ejected.
"Patience, check the water quality."

[Scan complete.]
[Water quality detected: Excellent. Safe for consumption.]
Moira Lynch shook the bottle of water in her hand and said, "Looks like we won’t be short on water anymore."
Because the weather was so cold, the water in the bottle froze into a block of ice within seconds.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch wasn’t bothered. She stored it in her Space Button.
They had come out with a mission, after all. They couldn’t waste any more time.
While they were clearing the snow, many people noticed how easily Moira Lynch and Hugh Finch were cleaning up the surrounding area. They were also curious about the machines, which periodically spat out something that looked like a bottle of mineral water.
However, Moira Lynch’s group held a special status at the base. Though young, they often brought back good things from the game and were among the first players to trade with the base.
Therefore, others didn’t dare to provoke them lightly. But there were always exceptions.
Moira Lynch put away a fully charged battery, then took out a new one and started charging it.
Just as she was about to start the Melting Snow Power Generator again, a pot-bellied middle-aged man walked toward her.
"Young lady, how much for that machine in your hand? Name a price. How about you sell it to me?"
The middle-aged man’s tone was dripping with arrogance from the moment he opened his mouth.
Moira Lynch knew of this man. He wasn’t a player himself, but his four children were.
Two of them had been selected during the second round of recruitment.
That was precisely why he was still able to keep himself plump and well-fed in the apocalypse.
Moira Lynch had no desire to talk to him, so she simply turned and walked quickly toward Hugh Finch.
Her public persona had always been like this, anyway.
Seeing Moira Lynch turn and leave without a backward glance, the middle-aged man’s expression turned ugly.
Ever since his family produced four players, everyone he met was polite and respectful. This was the first time someone had just turned and walked away from him like that.
But when he thought about the machine in Moira Lynch’s hands, the middle-aged man wasn’t willing to just give up and leave.
He had been observing from the side for a while. That machine could not only clear snow quickly, but it could also charge batteries and even produce a bottle of water every so often.
It was an absolute treasure. He had to get his hands on one.
Although his four sons were players, besides Game Coins, the things they brought back from each game were worthless trinkets that didn’t sell for much at the base.
Hugh Finch, who was clearing snow, saw Moira Lynch suddenly run over with a sour-faced middle-aged man trailing behind her. A flash of understanding crossed his eyes.
Moira Lynch quickly ducked behind Hugh Finch and whispered, "I’m leaving that guy to you. I’m out."
Before Hugh Finch could even reply, Moira Lynch was already far away, as if the person behind him was some kind of terrifying monster.
’Not a terrifying monster, perhaps, but definitely a handful.’
Moira Lynch thought for a moment, then stopped and opened her Intelligent Brain to send a message to Shane Rhodes and Kai York.
Hugh Finch would have no problem dealing with the middle-aged man, but she was worried that if he dealt with the father, the sons would come looking for trouble. After all, the man had four sons who were players.
To prevent Hugh Finch from being at a disadvantage later, Moira Lynch called for backup first.
While waiting for Shane Rhodes and Kai York, Moira Lynch didn’t go far.
Meanwhile, Hugh Finch watched the middle-aged man approach, a smile on his face as he reached out a hand to block his path.
