Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 354 - 344: Library and Museum
The Crimson Alliance had been around for a long time.
’How could she accomplish in such a short time what others hadn’t been able to do for centuries?’
’So, it was best to just let it go. For things like this, it was better to leave it to fate. You lose if you get too serious about it.’
Because these people had all traded with the [flrst] shop voluntarily, even their complaints to the system went unanswered.
As for being boycotted by most players, the [flrst] shop didn’t seem to care at all.
Their target audience was only ever a very small minority of players, after all.
For these customers, the [flrst] shop didn’t take the opportunity to confiscate their badges. Instead, it revealed the badges’ secrets to them.
So, even with so many people denouncing the [flrst] shop and the person behind it, the shop itself remained steadfast, completely unaffected and secure.
Moira Lynch closed the game forum, stretched, then turned her attention to her personal space.
A new batch of Elf Tree Houses had finished growing.
"This batch of Elf Tree Houses seems better than the first. The growth time is shorter, too."
[Analysis complete: This batch of Elf Tree Houses is indeed of higher quality than the last. The probability of ordinary Elf Trees appearing has decreased. The shortened growth time is likely related to the Master’s second talent.]
Hearing this from Patience, Moira Lynch wasn’t surprised in the slightest. After all, the space had completely merged with her ever since her first talent awakening.
’Her first talent’s mutation was probably also due to the space.’
In the wider galaxy, it was known that for some people who awakened a second talent, their two talents would influence each other.
While rare, such cases were not unheard of.
Her gaze fell upon the vast expanse of Elf Tree Houses, and a few among them were especially eye-catching.
They were colossal, towering trees, each one like a palace.
Elf Tree Houses of this immense size didn’t actually sell well, as very few people could afford them.
Moira Lynch counted them. There were thirteen of these gigantic Elf Tree Houses in total.
She put three of them up for sale in her shop and decided to place the remaining giant Elf Tree Houses on Cloudsea Planet and Veridian Prime.
Ever since the apocalypse began, Moira Lynch had collected a great many antiques and books.
These items had been sitting in her personal space all this time.
Moira Lynch had no experience preserving antiques herself, and she usually read digital versions of books anyway.
’Instead of letting these things gather dust in my space, I might as well take them all out. It’ll also give those Flower Sprites something to do.’
No sooner said than done.
With a mere thought from Moira Lynch, the great doors of several warehouses in her space—the ones designated for antiques and books—swung open. Countless books and antiques flew out as if guided by an unseen force, soaring toward the various Elf Tree Houses.
Several hours passed before this grand-scale relocation finally concluded. In the process, Moira Lynch had even completely exhausted her internal energy once.
She hadn’t even realized she had collected so many books—classics, ancient texts, novels, and even student textbooks for all grade levels, complete with unfinished workbooks.
Moira Lynch, taking everything without discrimination, stuffed the entire collection into the tree houses.
The items completely filled eight Elf Tree Houses—four for antiques and four for books.
But because there were so many items, Moira Lynch didn’t bother with detailed categorization. ’I’ll leave that job to someone else,’ she thought. ’The workload is just too massive.’
If Moira Lynch were to do it herself, it would likely take her ages to finish.
Once this was done, Moira Lynch immediately used the Golden Celestial Eye on Veridian Prime to find the Flower Sprites and relay the news.
Upon hearing the task Moira Lynch had for them, the Flower Sprites agreed without a moment’s hesitation.
After all, organizing books was child’s play for them, and it gave them something to do.
While most Flower Sprites got along well with the humans on Veridian Prime, some were naturally quiet and found the presence of people a bit disruptive.
After settling things with the Flower Sprites, Moira Lynch quickly selected the locations for the Elf Tree Houses.
She didn’t place all the Elf Tree Houses together. Instead, she scattered them and labeled them Museum One, Two, Three, and Four, and Library One, Two, Three, and Four.
The massive commotion quickly drew the attention of the humans on Veridian Prime.
These people were no strangers to Elf Tree Houses; after all, every base now had quite a few of them.
But none of the Elf Tree Houses they had ever seen were as large as the ones now before them.
Just then, a Flower Sprite appeared to explain the situation.
When they learned that these were libraries created by SoySauceDrunkard, the crowd let out a collective sigh of relief.
They looked again at the giant Elf Tree Houses, and their eyes filled with pure excitement, especially after learning there were three more libraries just like this one, plus four museums.
Veridian Prime was now home to many children who had no extracurricular activities to speak of besides their daily lessons.
It’s a fact that children are never truly docile. After overcoming their initial fear and uncertainty, these kids quickly reverted to their true natures once they felt safe and settled.
They were fine during class, but the moment they had free time, they were off causing all sorts of mischief, which was a major headache for the adults.
Now, with these new libraries and museums, perhaps the children would be able to settle down a bit.
The administrator on Veridian Prime was even more thrilled, especially upon hearing that the libraries contained brand-new workbooks.
’I have to get back and tell everyone this good news right away.’
Meanwhile, Moira Lynch sent the remaining two giant Elf Tree Houses to Cloudsea Planet, planting them on the two largest islands she could find.
Having cleared out several warehouses at once, Moira Lynch instantly felt a great sense of relief.
The now-empty warehouses could be used to store other things.
In addition to the giant Elf Tree Houses, there was another, more peculiar type. They were about half the size of a standard Elf Tree House and contained only a single room with a bedroom and a bathroom.
Moira took a look and saw that there was a considerable number of these smaller Elf Tree Houses.
’This is great,’ she thought. ’These Elf Tree Houses can be priced more cheaply, so more people will be able to afford them.’
She did a quick inventory of the Elf Tree Houses, and then they were ready to be listed for sale.
During these days of endless white snow, the players were still arguing endlessly over the issue of the badges.
Those who had been tricked out of their badges wanted them back, while those who had voluntarily given them up—either to end the game faster or to enter a lottery—were now stirring the pot for reasons no one could fathom.
