Seeing this, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but take a step back. "This was Black Wolf’s request, not mine."

’The implication was clear: if you’re going to be angry, be angry at Black Wolf. It has nothing to do with me.’

By now, Ellers had composed himself and began the process of drawing blood.

Moira Lynch had the necessary tools for drawing blood in her case, but she didn’t want to use them. She had a better way.

She took an item out of her storage space—a syringe.

Unlike a normal syringe, the one Moira Lynch produced had no needle at its tip. Instead, there was a flat, orange-yellow surface.

It was a painless syringe.

Whether for drawing blood or injecting medicine, one simply had to press the orange-yellow surface against the skin to extract blood or administer the drug. It was incredibly convenient.

Moreover, this painless syringe was reusable, so there was no risk of infection.

Moira first drew a vial of her own blood and plucked two strands of her hair. Then, she went to draw blood from Black Wolf, pulling out some of its fur as well, and handed everything to Ellers.

Gazing at the items he had been dreaming of, Ellers was so moved his eyes filled with tears. He wished he could return to his lab right this instant to study them.

Unfortunately, they were still on the battlefield and couldn’t leave just yet.

With Black Wolf joining them, Snow finally agreed to let Moira Lynch travel with their group. However, she had to promise to stay by Black Wolf’s side at all times and walk in the very center of the formation.

Moira Lynch agreed to all these conditions.

After all, Snow was only saying this to ensure her safety. She couldn’t mistake his good intentions for malice.

Along the way, whenever Moira Lynch saw the wreckage of Mechas or spaceships, she would collect it without hesitation.

This action also saved Snow and the others a great deal of trouble.

When they encountered wounded soldiers, Moira Lynch took charge of treating them.

Seeing Snow and his men collecting the bodies of the fallen to take with them, Moira Lynch finally remembered the bodies she had found earlier.

"Oh, right. These are for you."

Moira Lynch took out two Space Buttons and handed them to Snow, saying, "Inside are the bodies of the deceased I’ve collected. I think it’s better to hand them over to you."

Snow took the two Space Buttons and gave Moira Lynch a solemn "thank you" before putting them away securely.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch suddenly remembered that the two Space Buttons contained people from different sides. ’Should I remind him now?’

’Better not,’ she decided after a moment’s thought. ’They’ll find out eventually when they get back anyway.’

’If I tell him now, I’m afraid Snow will obliterate those bodies on the spot. Should I stop him then, or not?’

’It feels like I’d be in a tough spot either way.’

As time ticked by, Snow and his team finally managed to search the entire battlefield.

When they arrived, there were only a dozen or so of them. But when they left, their numbers had swelled to several hundred.

Snow looked at the people before him, his heart filled with immense excitement.

Of course, he hadn’t forgotten that the credit for all of this belonged to Moira Lynch.

If not for her, forget several hundred people; bringing back even a tenth of that number would have been their absolute limit.

The other rescued soldiers also knew that Moira Lynch was their savior, and they came up one by one to add her as a friend.

Some people’s Intelligent Brains had been damaged in the battle, so they asked Moira Lynch to send them a request first. They would accept it after they got their Intelligent Brains replaced back home.

As the spaceship coming to pick them up drew closer, one of the soldiers came up to Moira Lynch. With a serious look in his eyes, he said, "If you ever run into any trouble in the future, you have to let us know. We’ll go through hell and high water to solve it for you."

Hearing this, the others all nodded in agreement, their expressions earnest and solemn. It was clear they weren’t joking.

They were serious.

After all, Moira Lynch had saved them, which was equivalent to giving them a second chance at life.

Just then, Ellers also patted Moira Lynch’s shoulder. "You can tell me, too. You’re my savior as well, after all."

As soon as he finished speaking, a massive spaceship slowly descended, kicking up a blast of air across the ground.

This was the first time Moira Lynch had seen an interstellar spaceship from such a close distance.

Compared to this, the mechs and ships she’d seen before—even that well-preserved spaceship—were completely pathetic.

’When I get the chance, I’m going to have one just like this!’

Moira Lynch vowed silently to herself.

What she didn’t expect was that this opportunity would come so quickly, though the actual item she received would have a considerable gap from what she had imagined.

Snow escorted Ellers aboard the spaceship, and everyone waved goodbye to Moira Lynch down below.

"Professor, are we really okay with not taking Moira Lynch with us? This is a battlefield," Snow said.

Ellers glanced at him. "The ship is already taking off. Why don’t you fly it back down?"

That shut Snow up. He could fly it back, but he didn’t have the authority. Even if he gave the order, no one would listen to him, and he might even have to face a Federation military tribunal when he got back.

"She wanted to stay behind herself. Even if you went back for her now, she might not necessarily come with you."

Besides, Moira Lynch wasn’t necessarily as frail as she appeared.

’After all, could someone truly frail make Black Wolf submit?’

’How would it submit? Through sheer force of personality? Don’t be ridiculous.’

Then, Ellers took out the vial containing Moira Lynch’s blood.

Normal blood would have long since coagulated by now, and Moira Lynch’s was no different. Although it had coagulated, it was still somewhat different from ordinary blood.

When normal blood coagulates, it remains soft, like jelly, and looks a bit sticky.

But when Moira Lynch’s blood coagulated, it was truly solid, as if it had been frozen.

He had only ever seen such a phenomenon in a very small number of people. This was the result of purifying and refining the body to the absolute limit.

It was common knowledge that this kind of bodily refinement was an excruciating process that most people simply could not withstand.

And to get one’s blood to this state, going through it once or twice was nowhere near enough.

Meanwhile, after the spaceship carrying Ellers and the others had completely disappeared from view, the system’s voice sounded in Moira Lynch’s ears.

[Congratulations to player SoySauceDrunkard for completing this round of the game. As this was a hidden stage, the double rewards system has been triggered.]

’Double rewards? When did the system get so generous?’

Just as Moira Lynch was thinking this, a familiar prize wheel suddenly appeared before her.

This prize wheel was a bit different from the previous ones. There was a tray in the center, seemingly for placing something, and all the surrounding slots were marked with question marks.

’What’s this? A blind draw?’

’Is the system into blind boxes now, too?’

’Speaking of which, where’s the start button?’

Just as Moira Lynch was searching for the start button, a set of instructions appeared before her.
