Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging

Chapter 330 - 320: The Crimson Alliance

It was time for the game to begin.

On this day, all players were fully armed, watching the clock as they silently waited for twelve o’clock to arrive.

Some were happy about this game, while others were worried.

Those who were worried feared failing the game and losing their player status. Those who were happy saw it as a chance to escape the harsh environment of Caelus and get a moment of respite.

As twelve o’clock arrived, a familiar mechanical voice sounded in all the players’ ears.

[Hello, dear players.]

[In three seconds, all players will be teleported into the game. Please prepare yourselves.]

[Three!]

[Two!]

[One!]

[Detected player SoySauceDrunkard has triggered the hidden instance: The Crimson Alliance.

The Crimson Alliance is an organization dedicated to maintaining interstellar peace and saving lives. Wherever war breaks out, they will be there.

Recently, another fierce war erupted in the distant Blue Star System. Marshal White, one of The Federation’s three Marshals, led his army to victory, but it came at a terrible cost.

The war resulted in countless deaths on both sides. The Crimson Alliance found the situation unbearable, but their personnel were limited.

Therefore, we are specially recruiting compassionate individuals to aid in the rescue. Those who complete the mission will earn the right to join The Crimson Alliance and receive its protection.

Note: Your primary responsibility is to save people, but only when your own safety is not at risk.]

As the system’s voice faded, Moira Lynch’s vision went black. The next moment, she was teleported elsewhere.

Then, she felt a sudden weight in her right hand. She looked down to see a white box.

Inside the box were various tools for dressing wounds, as well as some first-aid medication.

’The Crimson Alliance is pretty decent, not making us pay out of pocket. Still, these supplies probably won’t last long.’

In addition to the white box, Moira Lynch noticed her clothes had changed. They were now white, with gold trim on the sleeves and collar. On her chest was a golden badge depicting a pair of folded wings crossed like a shield.

[This is The Crimson Alliance’s special uniform. No one will initiate an attack on you while you’re wearing it,] Patience explained.

’Thinking back to what the system said, it seems I’m not the only one here.’

Moira Lynch scanned her surroundings. The area was a scene of utter devastation, littered with the scars of battle and wreckage.

The air was thick with the smell of cordite and blood.

Moira Lynch had grown up in an era of peace. The closest she’d ever come to war was playing a corpse as an extra on a film set to get an internship credit.

Remembering her mission, Moira Lynch took a deep breath. To save people, she first had to find them.

For Moira Lynch, finding people couldn’t be simpler.

She extended her spiritual power to scan the area, but found nothing.

After looking around, Moira Lynch decided to tidy the place up.

She began to collect all the destroyed spaceships, Mecha, and other debris.

These Mecha and spaceships were broken, but many parts inside were still intact.

’I can’t think of a use for these Mecha and spaceships right now, but that’s fine. Someone else will know what to do with them.’

As she gathered the wreckage, she occasionally came across dead bodies.

She sorted the bodies by faction based on their uniforms, temporarily storing them in different Space Buttons.

"It’s not ideal, but you’ll have to make do for now."

Moira Lynch spoke, but her hands never stopped moving.

As Moira Lynch diligently tidied the battlefield, she suddenly noticed a faint fluctuation ahead.

She quickly stopped what she was doing and ran toward the source of the faint fluctuation.

Soon, she arrived before the wreckage of a huge spaceship.

The ship looked like it had been shattered by a single blow. Only a ruined chassis remained, and all the instruments inside were destroyed.

Sensing the faint fluctuation coming from beneath the wreckage, Moira Lynch raised a hand and stored the remains away, revealing the scorched earth underneath.

A figure, charred black and unrecognizable, lay on the ground. His limbs were twisted at unnatural angles, clearly broken.

Though his clothes were in tatters, she could still tell they were different from any of the uniforms she had seen so far.

With her spiritual power, Moira Lynch could sense his breathing was incredibly faint. If she hadn’t arrived when she did, he wouldn’t have lasted much longer.

’My mission is to rescue the injured, but I’ve never learned first aid. I’ve only watched a few videos; I’ve never actually done it.’

’But that’s okay. I don’t know first aid, but I have my second talent and the Healing Device. They’re much more useful than first aid anyway.’

She took out the Healing Device and performed a quick scan on him.

[Direct hit from a Light Beam Sensing Cannon. Full-body fractures, comminuted fractures in all four limbs, both wings broken, various degrees of internal organ damage. Life signs are critical. Rescue is not advised; it would be futile.]

Even so, despite the Healing Device’s prognosis, Moira Lynch didn’t leave. It wasn’t an attack of conscience; she simply wanted to test her second talent.

She took out the Priest’s Staff she had acquired at the Navi Auction.

An emerald-green Crystal Stone was set in its tip, complementing the staff so perfectly it seemed they were always meant to be one piece.

As Moira Lynch slowly channeled the energy in her body, the Priest’s Staff emitted waves of faint green light.

The light shone on the man on the ground. The wounds on his body began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye, and even his deformed, twisted limbs returned to their original shape.

The broken wings on his back even grew anew.

Ellers felt he was the unluckiest person alive. He had just come out to clear his head, and he’d run into pirates.

He immediately sent a distress signal to The Federation, thinking he’d be rescued quickly. He never expected events to spiral so far out of control.

What was supposed to be a small rescue mission had gradually turned into a large-scale battle.

And him? After finally finding a chance to slip away while the pirates were distracted, he ended up getting hit by a Federation Light Beam Sensing Cannon.

Thankfully, he reacted quickly, moving the ship at the last second so the Light Beam Sensing Cannon didn’t directly strike the cockpit. Otherwise, he would’ve been meeting his ancestors.

But even so, he was still seriously injured. He could feel his life rapidly fading away.

Just as Ellers thought this was the end for him, a warm power suddenly enveloped his body.
