Another World Mall
Chapter 1156: Real
"We could solve the supply shortage."
They fell silent. After listening to Clovis’ story, they couldn’t help but agree that the scenario would allow them to solve the supply shortage.
"Still, they don’t know the fact that Clovis could bring out the supply, right? I mean, the first thing Clovis has is actually a supermarket. There are some food products, but I don’t think they’re lacking in food. With a strength like that, they should be able to have a city that is surrounded by good terrain. It should be possible to farm even if they can’t eat any meat." Kanaria raised a problem.
Hana raised one finger. "Yes and no. It’s true that Clovis only had the supermarket at that time, but this is Another World Mall. There’s a reason it’s called a mall.
"In addition, the ingredients are quite special, indicating that they’re coming from those fantasy creatures.
"Hence, a mall can offer a lot of things, such as entertainment or even food or clothing. This alone will be enough to give you a hope that accessories and clothes will be there to boost your power.
"Then we will add fantasy creatures into the mix. This will make them think that these fantasy creatures will add their own uniqueness to this mall. Basically, it’s the combination of the modern mall and fantasy stores.
"So, while it’s true that raw materials are a gamble, it doesn’t change the fact that activating Another World Mall will bring a lot of things into the group. At least, it will definitely change something.
"When you are already backed into the corner, even a single hope will make you throw everything you have to cling to it," explained Hana.
"I guess their plan has come true, then why hasn’t Clovis left this world yet?" Jay asked, glancing at Clovis.
Clovis thought for a moment before raising one finger. "That’s something I don’t understand either. My guess is this synchronization rate. I got a new set of memories starting from my childhood in this world all the way to this point.
"So, my theory is that the stronger I get, the more compatible my body is with the real me. That’s why the synchronization rate is starting to get high now that I am close to Tier 9.
"It’s like progress from just hearing your voice while having a headache, then having a dream-like vision.
"There’s a chance that once the synchronization rate reaches 100%, I will gain all the memories of the real me."
"Why, though? I mean, shouldn’t you just give your memory as well? If you have your original memory, you can grow faster since you were originally stronger." Jay frowned.
Clovis shook his head helplessly. "I don’t know whether it’s because of money or something else. There’s a possibility that I sealed my own memories so that I would be able to get money without depending on that memory. Well, depend might not be the word. It’s more like bias.
"In a way, the world might have programmed it in such a way that I would end up meeting you guys. In fact, have I ever told you that I saw an error when I first met Christina at that banquet?"
"No! This is the first time I’ve heard of it." Christina crossed her arms, glaring at Clovis.
"It wasn’t that important back then, but it looked like we were connected to each other by the system. Mara had also encountered it with me, right?" Clovis turned to Mara.
"Indeed" Mara nodded calmly, still remembering the first time they met.
"Well, there you go." Clovis smiled. "Another possibility is that... I’m planning something else. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but the fact that I might have to go to all seven towers just to leave this world means there’s an intention to lock me in this world.
"That intention is still unknown, but it might be related to the prophet. And judging by the error in the system and the voices we’ve heard... we might have planned it out from the beginning.
"The prophet should exist in the real world as well. He might be determined to kill me, so he is preventing me from leaving this world by infiltrating this world. In other words, if I actually kill the prophet in this world... there’s a chance that I might hurt him or defeat him in the real world."
They couldn’t deny this one possibility. If that was true, then the situation might be more complicated than they originally thought.
Mara suddenly added, "Those two could be the reasons, but it may also be because of me."
"You?" Clovis was confused.
"Yes. To integrate my power."
"Ah!" Clovis gasped. Something clicked in my mind. "Now that you mention it, my grandfather witnessed me acting up and killing animals when I was a few years old. It was an uncontrollable desire, so he was there for me.
"It might be when your power was implanted in me. To make your power mine, I needed to forget everything so that I would believe that this power was originally mine and fully integrate it. Even when I learned that was wrong later, the power had already been mine.
"It was probably because of the nature of your power that if I thought I was born with it, I could use it." Clovis gasped, realizing that this might also be true.
"Yes, so the reason might not just be one of them. It might be all of them. Killing a few birds with one stone." Mara nodded.
"..." Clovis sucked in a cold breath. This was indeed a meticulous plan. If this was true, then he really needed to go back to the real world.
Jay chuckled. "And now, I wonder who is more ironic. The man who has forgotten himself and is becoming another set of himself and regaining all his memory, or the people who realize they are not real."
Jay was simply talking about Clovis and the rest of the people in this world.
Clovis already had an answer for such a question.
"I am real. I am Clovis Hacfield. The me in reality is also me. We are both real, so why should I feel bothered about it? You are also real. You guys are real to me. Even if the worlds are different, who says I can’t live in both worlds?" Clovis smiled.
