Chapter 1141: Retreat
A moment ago.
"Yo, Ezekiel. It looks like our grandchildren need our help."
"Michael?" Ezekiel frowned. "What’s wrong? It’s rare for you to call me, so I’m assuming something big has happened. Are they fine?"
"They are fine. However, they want us to make our move toward the sixth tower. At the very least, make it in a way that we’re visible to the enemy."
Ezekiel frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"I don’t know what’s going on. According to Melody, Clovis will explain everything after they’re done with their matter. For now, I think it’s better to do what he wants."
Ezekiel thought for a moment. "All right, then. My dear grandson-in-law is not someone who does meaningless things. Even if it’s a bit dangerous, the risk should be calculated."
"I know, right? Either way, we will receive an explanation later. I might end up punishing my grandson if this turns out to be unimportant."
"Right? What kind of punishment are you talking about? If I’m the one punishing them..."
"Of course, we gotta have him knock up the girls. What’s else?"
"You took the words out of my mouth. I’ve been waiting for this moment. I want to hold my great-grandchildren first..."
"I doubt we can do that before the big war, but it’s good to have hope." Michael sighed. "Anyway, let’s move right away."
"Got it."
Both of them hung up the call at the same time. Michael simply shouted, "Aisha. Take care of the matters here."
"What are you doing? There is plenty of work here."
"My dear grandson needs me."
"What are you doing? You need to take off immediately? Why are you wasting your time here?"
"..." Michael was speechless and just let out a sigh before leaving.
Ezekiel, on the other hand, grabbed his gear first before heading out.
...
Meanwhile, the Prophet was completely stunned.
"What did you say?" The Spear Saint widened his eyes in shock. He couldn’t believe what the Prophet had just told them.
"I’m telling you that Mara Leverstrike has joined the Libation Fiesta."
"This is a joke, right? Please tell me this is a joke." The Sword Saint frowned. "The Moon Bow is dead?"
"Yeah." The Prophet nodded.
The Spear Saint still remembered his fight against Mara. "The Wandering Disaster is as powerful as me. She alone will be enough to stop me in this tower. Then, the rest of the team can take out the Sword Saint.
"The fact that the Moon Bow is dead, they must have some confidence in taking down the Tier 9 beast over there as well. In other words, their strength has reached that level.
"If we don’t approach this carefully, we may end up dead this time. No, this might be their plan.
"They must have wanted to kill the Moon Bow from the beginning. Without anyone knowing about it, they would then make their way here and ambush us in the same way. In other words, they at least want to kill the Moon Bow and the Sword Saint.
"I still have some confidence in getting away from them, but in this situation..." The Spear Saint turned grim.
If they lost two Tier 9 humans, the situation would be quite dire.
No, the worst-case scenario was having him dead as well. At that time, the Prophet would be alone. Even if he somehow got the cooperation of the two strongest, it wouldn’t be enough.
The Prophet nodded with a serious expression. "I am on my way there. Since they’re aiming for you, we at least know they’re coming. If I’m there, they won’t be able to do anything. No, we may be able to turn the situation around."
"What if they’re feigning this and move to your tower?" The Spear Saint asked.
"That place is not easy to infiltrate even without me."
"..." The Spear Saint couldn’t exactly deny it. The Tower of the Lake was the masterpiece that the Prophet had created. There was no way Clovis could easily break through its defenses.
The Spear Saint asked another question. "What about those two? Have they joined yet?"
"No. However, I intend to use Mara’s existence to recruit them. This will make it easier for me to convince them. Nevertheless, we need to stop them in the sixth tower. If we can just stop them here, it will cause a massive setback in their plan."
"I understand." The Spear Saint nodded. "The Sword Saint and I will hold the fort for the time being. No, I will also tighten the security. Considering they have Mara Leverstrike, they might want to use brute force to infiltrate this place.
"So, we will need more people to stop them. How long do you need to reach this place?"
"Approximately seven hours. I’m going to use my fastest speed to go there, so that’s the limit."
"That’s good enough. They will need to recover their strength after defeating the Moon Bow and the beast, so we should have some time." The Spear Saint felt relieved.
However, the situation changed the moment another report came in.
There was a staff member rushing toward the room.
"Sir! Sir!" The staff member panted a few times, looking at the Sword Saint and the Spear Saint.
"Ey! What’s wrong? I’m in the middle of an important meeting."
"I apologize, sir. However, you need to see this." The staff member rushed to him, showing two pictures.
"!!!" The Sword Saint dropped his jaw, while the Spear Saint’s face turned grim.
"It doesn’t look like good news." The Prophet narrowed his eyes.
"Yeah." The Spear Saint sighed. "Ezekiel Elseingarde and Michael Hacfield have been spotted moving toward this place."
The Prophet fell silent. "Are they trying to start a war? No, this might be either a reaction from Clovis Hacfield or their plan all along."
"..." The Spear Saint felt a chill down his spine. "Because they’re exhausted, Clovis might mobilize these two so that they can work together to kill us? With the addition of those two, even I can’t guarantee my survival."
The Prophet froze for a minute before realizing what would happen if he continued. "This is impossible. Now that the Moon Bow is gone, we have been checked. Retreat."
