Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 571 - Days MMCXXXVI - MMCXXXVII, Part IV

The beam went further hitting the wall surrounding the arena and just malting the spot it crashed into.

Many people thought it’s over. To be honest with a large part of Tai’s body was all charred, and emitting black smoke, with a damaged heart, I thought so too. To add to this, he even collapsed straight onto the sand. Although he jammed the pudao in the sand, trying to hold himself up, he was not able to.

Meanwhile, the crab came back to life. He was in a terrible state, but the machinery somehow was working. It stumbles through the first few steps, and some parts clearly were not working, as sparks were constantly coming out of them, and there were also a couple of electrical discharges still jumping here and there on the alien’s body, but it definitely was still alive and working decently.

Lim’s smile disappeared and was switched with an expression filled with concern.

– Fuck – said Adam.

– It’s not over – protested somebody from the Chinese crew.

[0)ᴠʟ The Hungarian man didn’t probably have it in him to argue. They just lost their comrade, so it would be cruet to crush their still smoldering hope.

The sky was still dark and covered with clouds. The sound of thunder, although quite distant, was present. We just didn’t pay attention to it, too focused on the man lying on the ground. He wasn’t even bleeding out.

The alien used this time to slowly climb his way from the crater, heading towards the human warrior.

– You should help him – Lim shouted at me, as he jumped on his feet.

My instinctive reaction was to stand up, but as I was about to rush outside, the crab managed to get out of the crater. At this very moment, Tai moved. He picked himself up in a fluid motion. Grabbed the pudao, and another surge of energy spilled out of his body in the form of electricity.

I froze, observing what was happening on the holoprojection.

He vanished, to appear above the alien with his weapon risen high in one hand. The image of an electrical attacking tiger appeared again in the air. Then he brought his weapon down, and the whole sky lighted up. He cut the alien open with a powerful swing, as multiple lightning bolts came down charged to the brim, and they all reached their target blinding us all for a moment when on the impact they tore the alien apart and exploded throwing Tai like a ragdoll into the air.

I opened my eyes despite the pain and saw him arching towards the ground, seemingly lifeless.

– I’m on it – I shouted and rushed towards the door leading to the armory.

I didn’t wait for it to slide open, just shadow walked past in, and then, again and again, to finally get outside. Tai was about to slam on the sand, but I used ‘Telekinesis’ to stop him in the air, and then rushed over there, shadow walking another few times to grab him, and return to my anchor in the waiting room. As we appeared there I immediately dumped a ‘Renewal’ into him, and the life force made him stretch out his spine, puffing chest on the ground, as the flesh and bones were being created, and formed into an arm.

He gasped for air as he opened his eyes.

We were surrounded by everybody in the span of a second. People picked him up, as he was coughing a lot, and breathing deeply.

– Good job – sadi Adam, looking at me.

I also earned a few nods of respect from others.

– What now? -asked somebody.

The answer to that question came up immediately. Zor’xal spoke out. He was clearly angry, and he was talking to Ashal Kal Anur.

The official shook his head, and then stood up, and spoke himself. We couldn’t understand a word, but as the alien was leaving his place, indicating that something important just happened, the AI popped up and announced:

– The recent fight was determined to be a draw. Due to the damage to the arena, the event is postponed to tomorrow when it will be resumed on a different object. Please prepare for relocation, and also choose your new representative. Due to interference participant, Tai has been disqualified.

I immediately looked at Zor’xal who was slowly drifting down, as he again broke the handle of his vehicle in fury.

– Draw is not terrible – said Will.

– Yeah, but we need wins – said Adam, and looked at me.

– I’ll get you a win – announced Edward.

– Are you sure? – asked the fire mage.

– That alien was strong. If the next ones are on this level or even better, do you think you still can win? – asked Tai, as he returned back to himself a bit.

– I’m ready to fight for the victory or die trying – said Hill.

– We don’t have as many strong people as they do – said Adam. – But we should do our best before the last stand.

He again looked at me as he was speaking.

– We made a mistake – said Gavriil. – I shouldn’t go first.

– But you did, and there is nothing we can do about that – said Nobuo. – There is no point in dwelling in the past. We should focus on the present, so we have a future to look forward to.

His words cut off the conversation, and we focused on packing our things. Tai and his crew needed a moment for him to get back to himself. Despite the fact that he just almost died, he was looking normal after a few minutes of resting.

It took around half an hour but Katri Xel Avakadaisu appeared to lead us to the new place.

– Good job – she said as she came inside the waiting room. – Emperor wanted you disqualified for interference.

She was clearly talking to me, as I was the focus of her gaze.

– But Ashal Kal Anur disagreed. He pointed out that Zor’xal’s trick should make him disqualified instead, and that he already shattered the good name of the Ixan empire. If you can somehow hold on, you might get out of this victorious – she smiled. – But now you should focus on what’s to come. Follow me. We already have a place prepared for you.

With those words, she immediately turned around and left the room.. We looked at one another, and followed her, grabbing our stuff, already prepared for the relocation.
