Chapter 570 - Days MMCXXXVI - MMCXXXVII, Part III
When I opened my eyes I saw that the alien survived the attack, and was completely fine. All that electricity didn’t even reach it, as it scattered on the barrier. The mechanical laugh again filed the arena, as Tai went on the move to avoid a set of twelve small rockets which the crab shot out through one of his guns.
[0)ᴠʟ They were homing missiles as they followed the human who tried to cut them down by using an air blade, but somehow those little things were able to avoid his attacks.
Alien’s arm clicked again, and he shoot another pack of the rockets, while the human was bust making gestures with his left, free, hand.
He ran down from the air and started leaving symbols on the ground as he pushed forward in the constant run. It was obviously a trap to destroy the annoying weapons following him, but the missiles spread around to actually avoid them. I was shocked by how intelligent that technology was.
Another click and another salvo were sent in the air.
For me, the way out of this situation was quite simple, but I wasn’t sure if Tai was seeing it. I would just close the distance so the rockets would stop becoming an annoyance just to me, but also started working against the crab. If not by threatening with the damage they could cause, because of how smart they were, then through limiting his movements by flying in close proximity.
Fortunately, he saw it. I noticed thanks to a sudden change in his movement when he for a second considered getting closer to the alien, but he didn’t follow with it. Instead, he focused on continuing something he had already begun doing. He finished a long sequence of gestures and stopped. The discharges all over his body appeared again, hitting the ground and jumping all over him, but this time was a bit different from the previous one.
– Now you will see what he really can do when he tries – said Lim with a sly smirk on his face, as he observed the fight sitting on a chair with his legs crossed.
Tai’s eyes changes, their irises became light blue, almost white, and crackling electricity was coming out of them. I saw a similar thing once when I fought with the chad titan on the top of the mountain.
Dark clouds gathered over the arena almost immediately, and the sound of thunder reached us. The human reached with his left arm towards the rockets and released a chain of lightning they couldn’t avoid lacking the necessary speed. A buzzing and crackling sound filled the arena followed by a set of a few dozen explosions that shook the entire complex and rose a cloud of fire and smoke, that quickly disappeared.
For a moment the dark now arena became quite bright.
The alien reacted by activating some parts of his armor that he previously didn’t use. Both arms started opening up. The parts were moving, expanding the whole thing, rotating, and getting out of the way for elements hidden inside to get exposed.
A similar situation is happening to the device on the crab’s back. A large, cannon-like device was brought out and placed above one of his shoulders, aimed straight at Tai.
The arms started charging up, and blue light was slowly getting stronger, as particles gathered around a middle like elements in the middle of them both. A humming sound was accompanying the process.
The human warrior also used this time to do a few gestured, and then he assumed a stance in a similar manner you could see on the old kung-fu movies, as he grabbed his pudao in both hands.
The alien blasted from both guns, and two powerful shots were released blinding us for a second. I endured it squinting my eyes to not lose any moment of the fight. The sheer force of release sand the crab back a bit, sliding on the sand, but he missed the mark. Tai was gone.
He immediately appeared again, though. Stright in front of the alien, surrounded by electricity, with his blade risen high, and he brought it down as he landed, and an outlined image of attacking tiger appeared around him, all made out of the discharges emitted by his body. He slammed into the alien and as he did several bolts of lightning hit the same target creating a globe of white lightning around him, which exploded throwing Tai like a ragdoll into the air.
I was forced to close my eyes for a second, as the sound of the impact filled the room and a powerful tremor shook the entire complex in quite a similar manner to the previous exploding demon-like creature.
When I could see again I saw Tai, catching back his balance as he landed heavily on the sand, next to the wall surrounding the arena.
In the place where the crab alien used to stand was a giant crater filled with jagged pieces of machinery hidden underground. White from all of the electricity jumping around there.
For a second even the flying chair carrying the emperor lowered itself because the power vanished.
The crab was alive though. Twitching in a strange manner as the lightning was jumping all over him, forcing him to behave in this awkward manner. It was hard to judge if he was alive or not. Even Tai couldn’t tell as he remained on full guard, observing patiently.
It took a couple of minutes, but then the whole machinery collapsed. The fight was won.
Human immediately started walking towards Ashal Kal Anur, circling around the right side of the crater, to pay his respect. He rose a hand into the air, in a gesture of victory, and was about to bow slightly. Still in his full might, surrounded by discharges jumping all over him, and the eyes glowing from power.
Then the cannon on the crab’s back moved, and changed its aim straight at him. He couldn’t see that, since it was out of his peripheral view. I jumped on my both legs, as my instinct was making me scream to warn him.
The impact of the beam blasted the half-dead crab and trashed him into all the rubble around, which disrupted the aim, but it reached Tai’s left shoulder evaporating it completely.
