Chapter 351 - Day MCCCLXXIII, Part II
– Those are big – said Will looking at the steps.
– That’s what she said, haha!
– I said those, not this, so you either are wrong or have two dicks. Either way, it’s hilarious – he replied with a big smirk.
– How about fuck you, Will?
– You can’t mix pleasure with work – he said, and started going down.
I followed, shaking my head.
Just after few steps, he started flying, annoyed. I noticed the telekinetic power he has been using.
– So that’s how you move the swords…
– Yep. After we fought the harpy queen I thought of picking the class just to protect myself from mental attacks, but then I saw the ‘Telekinesis’ skill, and I got the idea. If I can summon multiple swords now, why not use them all?
– Good idea. By the way… Did you pick up ‘Mind influence’?
– Yes.
– Did you ever use it?
He looked at me completely seriously.
[0)ᴠʟ – No. And I’m not planing to. What about you?
– I have it. Never used it, and never will use it.
– Good.
– So… What’s down there? – he asked.
– Smoking-hot boys with large, nasty axes. If you know what I mean.
– Oh I know. You mean literally what you just said.
– Of course, I do.
We talked like that all the way down, and as we reached the final few steps Will stopped.
– Holy shit… – escaped his mouth as he witnessed the incredible view.
– Yes. Something along those lines.
– I need to show this to my girlfriend.
– Wait, what?! You have a girlfriend?! – I mon gonna lie, I was shocked.
– What I have is you eating straight from my hand, haha!
– Well, what you really have, is me considering joining the giants, and kicking your ass.
He looked me straight in the eyes, squinting them for more dramatic effect like it was some kind of standoff.
– You would never rise your hand at your mother.
– At my mother? No, but at you, for sure.
– How about we both raise our hands at those pretty boys down there? – he asked after slapping me in the peck and then pointing at a couple of fire giants that clearly noticed us.
I sighed and just started walking.
I’m not gonna lie, the hunt wasn’t this enjoyable for me for quite a while now. Even with KI’rai around, which I would never say to her but the way. I was simply having fun with a good friend. We bickered a lot, and we slaughtered even more, eventually making it all the way to the top.
Not without problems, as the storm giants were way too difficult for Will. I had to put some extra effort to make him not get zapped to death by their electricity.
I only took one break during the hunt, just to get the rest of the crew to change hunting spots, and I rejoined will shortly after.
– So that’s the pretty boy?! – Will asked pointing at the Titan.
He had to yell because of the wind. The sun wasn’t also on our side, as the rays deflected by the snow were making it hard to look around.
– Yep, that’s him! Hang at the backline until you get a good grip of what that fucker can do, and join if you think you can contribute!
– Sure!
He stayed, and I jogged forward immediately activating all the necessary skills, and creating a bunch of firebirds on my way. The boss stood up, grabbing his weapon, and did the same thing that last time. Tried to cook me with his flames, but didn’t succeed at all.
I nuked him with chained explosions in retaliation, then shadow walked to the side, to ambush him from a different angle, as he will emerge from the flames. I almost succeeded, but he blocked my attack at the last second.
Then I heard the crackling sound of thunder, and lightning bolts came raining soon after. I had my hands full just avoiding those, but I managed to squeeze a few firebolts here and there to make him a bit busy too.
Will was just watching from the side. He went as far as to step down a bit, so just his head would be above the ground level for us. With this maneuver, he could potentially avoid being engaged at all. It was a smart choice.
Without having to worry about him the fight got a tiny bit easier. It still took hours of hard work to chip away in that bastard. The wannabe paladin joined me at some point when the Titan couldn’t use magic anymore, and the storm vanished, and together we finished him off.
Will got the final hit, as he wanted. Then we both sat on the ground, tired out of our minds.
– Fuck… – he said gasping for air.
– No… I’m too… tired… for that – I replied panting heavly.
He let out a short chuckle and then started coughing terribly.
– You’ve got what you wanted mister pretty – I said to him.
– Yeah. Thanks, man.
– No ‘thanks man’ me, you are paying for that.
– Oh come one. Cut me some slack.
– Not gonna happen. And on top of that, you are buying me a beer.
He sighed.
– Fine. Let’s go have that beer.
We traveled back to the city, with a quick pitstop the get the others to their last destination. Then we sold the score, splitting it in half. Will didn’t deserve that for his contribution, and he knew that but I wanted him to have some points to invest in the new class, so I did it.
Then we had a beer and a long conversation about life. Filled with jokes, obviously. By the end of it, I picked up the others and went to get some rest, to start another long period of hunting in the preparation for my little exploration trip that was supposed to end up in Loistavadvaar, and getting our way out of this place from The Great One.
The day came to an end with 1 755 782 909 points remaining on my account, and 84 class points.
