Reddy stumbled in the bright light. He squeezed his eyes shut. They burned with intense pain. He could not see anything. He realized his stealth advantage was completely gone.

But Reddy was a legendary assassin from ZulFarah. He possessed immense battle experience. He did not need his eyes to fight. He relied on his other senses.

He felt a shift in the air pressure. He sensed someone walking toward him. He felt an incredibly cold, overwhelming aura approaching. It was an aura of absolute authority.

Reddy panicked. He swung his jagged black blade in a wide, desperate arc. He wanted to slice the invisible attacker.

Ken did not even try to dodge. He simply tilted his head one inch to the right. The sharp black blade sailed harmlessly past his ear. It did not touch a single strand of his messy black hair.

"You are swinging at ghosts," Ken thought coldly to himself. "You rely entirely on cheap tricks. You hide in the dark because you are weak."

Reddy realized his sword missed. He grew extremely desperate. He dropped his weapon. The sword hit the floor with a loud clatter. He decided to use his ultimate, forbidden assassination technique. He wanted to kill the approaching enemy instantly.

Reddy raised both of his hands. He pushed his dark magic to the absolute limit. He aimed his hands at the floor. He tried to locate Ken's shadow.

"Shadow Weave!" Reddy hissed through his teeth.

Dark, toxic purple magic shot out from Reddy's fingertips. The magic hit the marble floor. It formed into a dozen sharp, black needles. The needles slithered across the bright floor. They moved like fast, angry snakes. They aimed directly for the dark shadow trailing behind Ken's shoes.

The Shadow Weave technique was a lethal binding spell. If the black needles pierced an opponent's shadow, the opponent became completely paralyzed. The spell allowed the assassin to crush the victim's heart from a distance. It was a flawless, unavoidable execution move.

The black needles reached Ken's shadow. They plunged deeply into the dark shape on the floor.

Reddy grinned a wicked, victorious grin. He thought he caught his attacker. He thought he won the fight. He prepared to crush the enemy's heart.

Ken stopped walking. He looked down at his own shadow. He saw the black needles sticking out of it.

He did not flinch. He did not feel any pain. He did not become paralyzed.

A tiny, almost invisible smirk touched the corner of Ken's mouth.

"He is trying to weave my shadow," Ken analyzed lazily in his mind. The cold look in his eyes remained entirely focused. "That is exactly like the shadow possession jutsu from that famous ninja show. It is a very cool concept. But it has a massive, glaring flaw. You cannot control a shadow if the shadow is vastly stronger than you."

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Ken possessed god-like, infinite mana. His shadow was an extension of his absolute power. A low-level assassin could never control it.

Ken decided to use his favorite brand of magic. He decided to use absolute Anime Logic.

"Full Counter," Ken whispered silently in his mind.

He did not make a dramatic hand gesture. He simply willed his magic to reverse the spell.

Ken's shadow suddenly turned pitch black. It grew incredibly dense. The shadow literally came alive. It surged upward. It grabbed the toxic black needles. The shadow absorbed the dark magic instantly.

The spell reversed direction completely. The dark magic shot right back up the magical connection. It zoomed back toward the assassin at blistering speed.

Reddy gasped loudly. He felt his own magic turn against him. He felt an overwhelming, crushing force slam into his mind. He tried to break the connection. He tried to pull his hands away. He was entirely too slow.

The reversed magic hit Reddy. His body went completely rigid. His arms locked at his sides. His legs froze in place. He was totally paralyzed by his own spell.

"What is this?!" Reddy thought frantically. He could not move his mouth to speak. He could not open his eyes. He was completely trapped in his own body. "This power is unimaginable! Who is doing this?!"

Ken walked right up to the paralyzed assassin. He stood inches away from the masked man.

Ken reached his left hand into his suit pocket. He dug past a wrapped strawberry candy. He dug past a piece of lint. His fingers touched a tiny, perfectly round glass marble. It was a clear, cheap toy marble.

He pulled the marble out of his pocket. He held it between his thumb and index finger.

Ken looked at the marble. He looked at the assassin.

"This guy caused way too much trouble today," Ken thought casually. "He trapped Naomi in a dark bubble. He made her very stressed. I really hate it when people stress out my friends. It ruins the relaxing vibe of the group. I need to put him in a very long time-out."

Ken pointed his right index finger at Reddy's chest. He held the clear glass marble in his left hand.

Ken tapped into his reality-bending space-time magic. He did not create a flashy explosion. He created a highly concentrated, microscopic pocket dimension inside the tiny glass marble. It was a perfect, inescapable prison. It was exactly like the Prison Realm from a very popular sorcery anime.

"Enjoy the loading screen," Ken whispered softly. His voice sounded deep and absolute.

Ken snapped his fingers. Snap.

The space around Reddy instantly warped. The air distorted violently. The assassin's body began to shrink. He shrank incredibly fast. He became the size of a doll. He became the size of a bug. He became microscopic.

The reality-bending magic sucked the tiny assassin directly into the clear glass marble.

It happened in a fraction of a millisecond. Reddy completely vanished from the floor. He was entirely sealed inside the tiny, inescapable pocket dimension. He would float in a dark void forever. He could not use magic. He could not escape. He was permanently removed from the board.

Ken looked at the small marble. He saw a tiny speck of black floating inside the glass.

He smiled a satisfied, goofy smile. He tossed the marble into the air. He caught it smoothly. He shoved the marble deep into his pants pocket.

"That was incredibly efficient," Ken praised himself silently. "Zero mess. Zero cleanup. The boss is captured. The dungeon is clear. Now I can finally take a nap."

The brilliant white light in the chamber finally began to fade. The blinding flash slowly dissipated. The room returned to its normal, dim illumination.

Ken quickly dropped his serious posture. He slouched his shoulders as far as they could go. He threw himself back onto the wet marble floor. He landed on his stomach. He covered his face with his hands. He resumed his fake, comedic panic.

"Ahhhh! My eyes!" Ken yelled loudly. His voice cracked perfectly. "I am totally blind! I cannot see anything! Someone please help me! I cannot find my gummy worms! This is a massive tragedy!"
