Ancient Woman Transmigrates to the Body of a Modern Man
Chapter 91: Hou Yizhen and his friends in the private room
But recalling that his nominal uncle-nephew relationship with Hou Yizhen had practically been severed, Lin Feng decided not to dwell on it.
"Brother Yu, please call me Xiao Feng."
He briefly shook the man’s hand before letting go. Compared to before, he had become much more natural about such gestures, although holding another man’s hand still made him feel a little uncomfortable.
"All right, Xiao Feng."
When Wei Tianyu returned to the private room reserved for their group, he found his friend Rong Zexin sitting there in boredom, while Hou Yizhen and Chu Haoran were both typing away on their laptops.
The moment Rong Zexin saw Wei Tianyu return, he immediately launched into a complaint.
"You only went to the restroom, so why did it seem as though you’d traveled to another dimension? Even a girl wouldn’t take this long! Just how much did you dump?"
Chu Haoran finally closed his laptop, his face contorting in disgust. "Shut your mouth. We’re about to eat."
Wei Tianyu chuckled. "I happened to witness a very interesting scene, so naturally, I had to stop and watch."
"Oh? What interesting scene?"
Chu Haoran and Rong Zexin were immediately roused from their boredom, their eyes lighting up with interest.
Hou Yizhen, on the other hand, didn’t even look up. He remained focused on the documents in front of him, a pair of glasses perched on his tall nose.
But his ears moved a little.
Who said men weren’t interested in gossip?
In fact, men could be just as interested as women. Once they gathered together, they could chatter away even more animatedly and enthusiastically, without the slightest restraint.
"I was passing by the corridor leading to the garden when I saw several people hiding behind the bushes, peeking out and eavesdropping on someone."
Remembering the scene, Wei Tianyu chuckled again. "Mrs. Jiang even rolled up a shopping bag to her ear. Even Rong Junpei was there."
"Then what were they looking at?"
"I didn’t hear what the people in the garden were talking about, but I saw the musical boy from the Tang family leave. There was another boy inside, too. He is my distant aunt’s nephew after marrying into the Lin family, Lin Feng."
The pair of large, tanned hands typing on the laptop suddenly came to a halt.
Hou Yizhen raised his head, his unreadable dark eyes looking at Wei Tianyu.
"Lin Feng? Ah, that boy involved in those scandals." Rong Zexin was taken aback, then quickly understood.
As the resident information enthusiast among their group, Rong Zexin naturally kept up with all the trending topics. He knew Lin Feng, of course. Although the controversy had died down and no one mentioned it anymore, Rong Zexin still remembered it vividly.
"Scandals?" Wei Tianyu’s eyes widened, and his brows furrowed. "Such a pure-looking and gentle person has a scandal?"
Hou Yizhen’s eyes narrowed.
Whenever people heard the word ’scandal’, thanks to the endless stream of unsavory news online, their first thought was often some scandal involving pornography or explicit material, and Wei Tianyu was no exception.
Hou Yizhen saved the document and silently closed his laptop. He then took off his glasses and placed them inside their case.
Rong Zexin shook his head. "Not that kind. I’m talking about the affair scandal involving President Lin and his sister-in-law several months ago. He was the one who released the video. Afterward, he was pushed down the stairs by that adulterous pair, his father and his aunt."
Chu Haoran finally recalled the matter. Taking a sip of wine, he added in a hushed voice, the corners of his lips curling upward, "And recently, he got caught up in another scandal. It turns out he is a homosexual."
He was particularly sensitive to this sort of news because someone in his own family was openly gay, and even causing trouble everywhere.
Wei Tianyu’s eyes widened until they were as round as saucers.
"You mean—"
That pure, gentle, and beautiful boy—
"Stop. He’s my nephew. Don’t talk about him anymore."
The bombshell had been dropped so casually that everyone in the room was left stunned.
Hou Yizhen’s nephew?!
"Cough, cough, cough!" Chu Haoran’s face turned red as he choked on his wine. "Fuck! That’s spicy!" He hastily reached for a glass of water and gulped it down desperately to clear his throat.
"That Lin Feng is your nephew? The one from the Lin family? How come we’ve never heard of this?" Rong Zexin stared at Hou Yizhen in disbelief, his jaw practically hitting the floor.
"It’s a secret. No one knows about it, so don’t go blabbing to anyone. His grandfather discovered our affair, so he severed our nominal uncle-nephew relationship."
"Pfft—!"
A spray of water rained across the private room as Chu Haoran spat out everything in his mouth, and a rainbow was formed on the floating fine drops.
The food on the table was drenched, and the faces of the other three men did not escape the calamity either.
"Fuck! Disgusting!"
Rong Zexin had been caught with his mouth wide open when Chu Haoran sprayed the water, and some had gone straight into his mouth. He furiously spat several times before dry-heaving.
"You bastard! I can taste the garlic shrimp you ate!"
Hou Yizhen and Wei Tianyu were also dripping wet, their faces and hair thoroughly soaked. Both hurriedly wiped themselves down, their expressions full of disgust.
Chu Haoran was still coughing violently as he pointed at Hou Yizhen.
"You—you, cough, bastard! Cough! You just—cough, cough, cough!"
Veins bulged at Hou Yizhen’s temples.
With a dark expression, he called for the waiters to clear the table and bring in a mop.
The waiters trembled with trepidation as they hurriedly cleaned up the private room, and then returned to bring in towels.
’Is this man a gangster? A yakuza? A mafia man? Why does he look so terrifying?’ They cried inwardly to themselves while trembling under the bronzed skinned man’s icy gaze, keeping their heads bowed as they worked.
The atmosphere was especially awkward.
The entire room had fallen into complete silence, save for one man who was still coughing and struggling to clear his airpipe.
