"He’s still asleep?" Grandpa Bai’s voice was calm and quiet, but both Hou Yizhen and Housekeeper Yang sensed the undercurrents.

"Yes, Elder Bai, the young master is still asleep." Housekeeper Yang silently bowed his head.

"He must have been really tired." The voice was tinged with sarcasm.

"Indeed," came the housekeeper’s curt reply. What else was he to say?

The elder wiped his mouth with a napkin, put it down, and finally looked up at the tall man, who, despite sitting on a chair to eat his breakfast, still looked quite big and imposing.

Grandpa Bai scrutinized the man from head to toe.

Tsk. Too big. Too rough.

If this giant and my grandson were indeed together...

Ah, my grandson must have suffered terribly!

Just the thought made the old man unable to maintain his calm facade. He took a deep breath to calm himself down, picking up a glass of water to drink a few gulps.

"Thank you so much for taking care of my grandson these past few weeks," Grandpa Bai finally said in a calm voice. "He must have caused you a lot of trouble. I recall you were unwilling to take him in before."

Hou Yizhen also wiped his mouth with the napkin before replying. "As his uncle, it’s only natural to take care of my nephew."

Grandpa Bai felt as if his blood had suddenly rushed to his brain.

He stood up, raised the glass of water, threw its contents on the man’s face, and then gripped the fragile glass with tremendous force, shattering it into thousands of pieces.

"You piece of scum!" he roared at the top of his lungs and threw down his cane on the man’s head. "So you know you’re his uncle and he’s your nephew! How can an uncle and nephew roll on the bed together? Preposterous!"

Sadly, this was all in his mind.

Veins protruded from the old man’s hand as he tried to crush the glass, but his strength was not enough.

In his youth, Grandpa Bai used to be able to fight hand-to-hand, with bottles flying in the air, but now he had gotten older.

If they fought, Grandpa Bai would lose. Not to mention, this man was not the type to go easy on his opponents just because the other party was old.

And his grandson...

’Ah, my blood pressure.’ The old man’s chest heaved a few times.

Housekeeper Yang was staring closely at the old man, his hand in his pocket, prepared to take out the old man’s emergency medication at any time. The old man’s assistant had left it with him in case anything happened.

Fortunately, the old man was still in good health. After taking a few deep breaths, he recovered.

Housekeeper Yang secretly sighed in relief.

’Please, Master Hou. Don’t cause any more trouble.’ He silently prayed.

Grandpa Bai: "Today is Monday. Don’t you have work to do?"

Hou Yizhen: "Nothing is more important than a junior’s well-being. I have already arranged things at the company."

Grandpa Bai: "Well, your nephew is indeed feeling very vulnerable lately. I hope there are no bastards who will take advantage of your nephew when he’s vulnerable. Or else, your Sister Yufei might not be able to rest in peace."

Each word was scathing and sarcastic.

Housekeeper Yang quietly closed his eyes. ’You’re on your own, Master Hou. I’m out.’

Hou Yizhen did not speak immediately.

Just as Grandpa Bai thought that the man had finally felt a prick of conscience, the man suddenly spoke.

"Lin Feng is a very lovely boy. I am actually very glad to have finally met him and to have cared for him. Whether it’s for Sister Yufei or because of my affection for Lin Feng, I will naturally take good care of him and not let any jackals approach."

Grandpa Bai was furious: ’You’re that jackal! You, Hou Yizhen!’

He was about to speak when the man continued.

"My nephew thinks way too much. I hope you don’t confront him or tell him anything weird. He has only just managed to pick himself up."

"You bastard!"

Finally, unable to bear it, Grandpa Bai erupted.

He stood up abruptly, coldly glaring at Hou Yizhen.

In a flash, Housekeeper Yang immediately retreated to the dining room’s exit, staying by the hallway but prepared to come in at any time if the fight became worse.

Fortunately, he had the foresight to dismiss the servants beforehand. Right now, all the servants were busy outside, tending to the budding garden and cleaning up the pebbled walkways.

"You bastard! So you know my grandson is already swamped with a lot of troubles. Why did you take advantage of him?! You dare to call yourself his uncle?!"

"He’s my nephew, and he’s very important to me—"

"How can an uncle and nephew do such things! Your Sister Yufei just passed away. Have you no regard for her at all?!"

"Lower your voice, old man. What if my nephew heard you? Don’t make him overthink."

"Overthink? You’re playing my grandson right now, using your position as his uncle to do nasty things. Have you not thought about what everyone will think?"

"He likes me too, so why not? We’re not really family members anyway. He’s my nephew, but just a nominal nephew."

"Nephew this, nephew that. If you really care about Ah Feng, then end this ridiculous relationship right now!"

"No." Hou Yizhen’s tone was firm and decisive. "I promised to stay with him and support him all the way."

"You, you..." The old man pointed at Hou Yizhen with a trembling finger. "D-do you want to be my grandson’s sugar daddy? His sponsor? How dare you!"

Hou Yizhen: "..."

How dirty were this old man’s thoughts?

Don’t tell me... Hou Yizhen’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the shocked old man.

"Hey, I didn’t know you’re into this kind of thing, Old Bai."

Silence.

"You motherf**ker!" A cane flew through the air, heading straight for Hou Yizhen.

Hou Yizhen’s expression did not change at all. He simply tilted his head slightly, letting the cane pass by his ears with a ’whoosh!’

"From now on, Hou Yizhen, with my authority as Yufei’s father and Ah Feng’s grandfather, as the patriarch of the Bai family, I hereby dissolve any sworn sibling relationship between you and my daughter! You do not deserve to be called her brother! You scum who have no respect for her at all!"

The tall man fell silent, thinking deeply, his brows furrowing.

Grandpa Bai coldly glared at him before finally calming his breathing. He put his hands behind his back and, without bothering to take his cane, turned around.

"My grandson and I would like to thank you for your care, but I now think it’s unsuitable for us to stay in this house for the remaining few days."

Then the old man strode out of the dining room, heading to the master’s bedroom and standing right outside its door like a guard, waiting for his grandson to wake up.

Housekeeper Yang thoughtfully brought over a chair so the elder could sit while waiting, before finally heading to the dining room to check the damage.

Alright, it was within a tolerable range.

Just as Housekeeper Yang was about to ask the master to leave the dining room so he could clean it up, he heard the master’s whispers.

"...Breaking off relations seems like a good idea. This way, my baby won’t have to worry about our elder-junior relationship..."

Housekeeper Yang stepped back, his face turning a little grim before he finally recomposed himself.

He was only thankful that the elder had not heard his master’s words and had left early.

....

The unaware Lin Feng leisurely took a shower, changed into comfortable clothes, and finally stepped out of the door, only to be shocked when he saw his grandfather sitting outside.

Holding his wildly pounding chest, Lin Feng sighed. "Grandpa, you shocked me."

The old man’s gaze swept over the boy from head to toe, over and over.

No unnatural posture.

No red marks.

No signs of weakness. He even looked quite refreshed.

"..."

Grandpa Bai suddenly doubted himself.

Perhaps the one who was on top was actually his grandson?

Did that giant chunk of scum actually have that hidden fetish?

Lin Feng blinked when he saw his grandfather’s inexplicable gaze. Then he remembered last night’s rendezvous.

Finally, a little worry crept into his heart.

Did his grandfather notice anything?

The boy’s eyes trembled as a feeling of guilt and shame filled his heart belatedly. He lowered his head, the tips of his ears reddening.

’No,’ Lin Feng scolded himself. ’Get hold of yourself. Didn’t you already make up your mind? If Grandpa doesn’t agree, then just express your determination regardless!’

It was just a little disheartening because this was a clear act of being unfilial, worrying and disappointing the elder.

But Lin Feng was already set on his path.

He calmed down and waited for the elder to speak, quietly waiting to be scolded. He hoped that the elder could vent his anger and not hold it in if doing so could make his grandfather feel a little better.

The pair of grandfather and grandson were at a deadlock by the door.
