Chapter 2: The scandal that shocked the capital

Lin Feng looked up at the tall building in front of him.

One of the several companies inside this building was Father Lin’s company. Considering his father’s nature, Lin Feng was certain that the man was in here. To Father Lin, this company, which he personally founded, was his greatest treasure and belonged to him alone, regardless of the fact that most of the investment money and the succeeding funds injected into it came from Mother Lin’s dowry.

The young boy, only seventeen years old, was a refreshing sight on the company grounds filled with mature men and women in corporate suits and skirts. The office workers walking on the streets couldn’t help throwing glances over.

Lin Feng would sometimes visit the company, so quite a few people around had actually seen him before.

His light brown hair, lightly colored eyes, and slender figure had always been like a breath of fresh air.

However, currently, there were dark bags under his red-rimmed eyes, his face was pale, and he lacked the usual gentle expression he used to have.

After watching the building for a while, Lin Feng lowered his head and looked down at the phone in his hand.

Yesterday, when he numbly followed his mother to the morgue, the hospital staff gave him this phone and other stuff found in Mother Lin’s pockets.

When he was unable to sleep, crying to himself and grieving for his mother’s death, Lin Feng numbly swiped the phone and unlocked it.

Mother Lin’s phone password was Lin Feng’s birthday.

The moment the phone screen was unlocked, a recorded video appeared in front of him.

Lin Feng’s numb eyes sharpened. He immediately sat up.

This video—it was a video recording of the affair between Father Lin and Aunt Ruoxi!

Mother Lin actually took a video despite her condition?

Suddenly, Lin Feng remembered many details from the recent days that he did not think much of.

There was a time when Mother Lin was hospitalized a month ago, and from then on, she would sometimes show an inexplicable expression. She had become much colder to Father Lin, often ignoring him.

Both Father Lin and Lin Feng thought that it was because of the recent issues in the company. Father Lin encountered an issue with a client and some distributors, and their warehouse was overstocked, with the contents having nowhere to go, resulting in a standstill in the operation and income chain issues in the company.

Father Lin had asked Mother Lin to mediate with Grandfather Bai and get his help.

However, at that time, Grandfather Bai had just helped Father Lin with a supplier chain issue, so he refused to provide further assistance, dissatisfied with Father Lin’s incompetence in managing the company.

"If you can’t manage the company well, you might as well step down and hire a president to manage it."

Father Lin had an argument with Mother Lin due to this. Soon afterward, Mother Lin was hospitalized, and she began to look coldly at Father Lin, often ignoring him.

So when Father Lin told Lin Feng to go on a one-week vacation with Mother Lin, saying that this way, they would not feel bored while he was away on a business trip, he was also hoping to have Mother Lin blow off her anger.

Of course, it was now clear that Father Lin himself had wanted to unwind.

Perhaps the rendezvous with Aunt Ruoxi was also Father Lin’s idea, wanting to have Aunt Ruoxi convince Grandfather Lin to help him again.

Considering the slight changes in his mother’s recent behavior, Lin Feng had a thought.

Perhaps the reason why Mother Lin was hospitalized around a month ago was because she discovered the affair between her husband and her sister.

However, Mother Lin most likely had not realized yet back then that Tang Hongyi was her husband’s son, or else she would have definitely done a DNA check first and then directly brought the matter to Grandfather Bai with the paternity test papers as proof.

Last night, Mother Lin was probably aware that the adulterous couple would be meeting, and she planned to record the affair as proof.

Perhaps, compared to the actual affair, what shocked Mother Lin the most was the fact that the affair had been ongoing before she even married Father Lin, and that the nephew she doted on turned out to be her husband’s illegitimate son!

Lin Feng’s trembling fingers tightened. His eyes finally became determined as he came to a decision.

He put the phone back into his pocket and strode into the building.

Father Lin and Aunt Ruoxi were both sitting inside the president’s office of the company, their faces grim.

"Brother Dong, do you think that brat will tell Dad about us?" Aunt Ruoxi asked, pacing around on her red heels.

Aunt Ruoxi, whose full name was Bai Ruoxi, the second daughter of the Bai family, born from the second wife, was much younger than her older half-sister Bai Yufei, who was Mother Lin.

Aunt Ruoxi inherited her mother’s voluptuous figure and sexy demeanor that had secured her mother’s marriage to the patriarch of the Bai family. It was also her youthful and charming appearance that attracted Father Lin, whose real name was Lin Dong, the son of a declining family.

If not for the promise that Grandfather Bai made to Grandfather Lin when the latter was still alive, the marriage contract would have likely fallen through and switched to the younger brother, Lin Wei, because Father Lin was not as capable as his younger brother Lin Wei, whom Grandfather Bai preferred. Father Lin’s only remarkable characteristic was his very handsome and charismatic appearance.

Aunt Ruoxi was captivated by him.

But to honor the promise, Mother Lin ended up marrying Father Lin, unaware that her little sister had secret designs for her fiancé.

Father Lin was distracted by the pair of bountiful chests that kept shaking in front of him. Last night, before he could satisfy himself, he was interrupted just at the most crucial moment. He had a strong libido, something that Mother Lin could not satisfy due to her weak body, so naturally, he would not refuse the advances of his sister-in-law, who was much younger than his wife. Her curvy body was much to his taste too.

Father Lin tore his gaze away. "Did you get any call from Yufei or Ah Feng?"

"Why would they call me? They likely will hide somewhere and cry, and my sister will probably spend another day in the hospital..."

Yes.

Until now, neither of the two adulterous people had been informed of Mother Lin’s death.

Lin Feng did not allow the hospital to inform them. He did not want to let the disgusting pair handle his mother’s funeral rites.

Instead, he gave the contact number of Grandfather Bai’s secretary to the hospital in case of an emergency. If the hospital could not contact him within the scheduled time for the release of Mother Lin’s body from the morgue, then they could contact this emergency number.

But Lin Feng saw the contents of his mother’s phone. He knew that Mother Lin had actually prepared everything to happen today.

If her tragic death did not happen, perhaps Mother Lin would have been filing for divorce later in the afternoon.

But there were no what-ifs. Mother Lin overestimated herself and underestimated the extent of the shamelessness of the adulterous couple.

Mother, Lin Feng thought. I will make sure to make your last wish happen.

With that thought in mind, Lin Feng stepped out of the elevator.

****

Later that night.

The employees of Father Lin’s company went home one by one, still reeling in shock at the series of scandalous events that had unfolded in the office building.

They were having their usual lunch break at the company cafeteria earlier.

Suddenly, the large television streaming a popular movie changed and began playing an uncensored, erotic video.

The company employees immediately thought that someone was in trouble for watching porn on the company premises and accidentally connecting to the television, but soon, they recognized the protagonists in the erotic movie.

It was President Lin, and the other party was his sister-in-law, Bai Ruoxi, who was already married to another man, Executive Director Tang of the Tang Corporation!

The same pair currently inside the president’s office.

This was an incestuous affair between in-laws!

Everyone was in uproar.

At this same night, the video was uploaded anonymously to various video portals. Although they were quickly taken down and censored, the video was also circulating on international adult video sites.

As early as the next day, the stock price of Father Lin’s company plummeted.

The sensational news had already spread throughout the entire capital overnight, and everyone in the capital was in shock, especially the people in their circle who knew the Bai, Lin, and Tang families.

President Lin and his sister-in-law had been having an affair for many years!

The nephew was actually the illegitimate son from the affair!

Executive Director Tang’s head was green!

The Bai, Lin, and Tang families were furious and mobilized their public relations teams to quickly suppress the scandal and stop it from going even more viral. The stock prices of the other companies under the Lin family had already begun to decline, and the Bai family was affected too, especially after it became known that the mistress, Bai Ruoxi, was the half-sister of President Lin’s wife. This half-sister was a daughter born from the second wife.

Instantly, even more conspiracy rumors about third parties becoming legal wives and family disputes added to the fire.

People began to say that the daughter’s bad habits must have been inherited from her mother.

"Nonsense!" the current matriarch of the Bai family cried out in anger and soon fell ill, throwing the Bai family into even greater turmoil.

However, soon, another even bigger scandal happened.

Just as the news of Mother Lin’s death spread, the adulterous pair and their illegitimate son found young master Lin Feng in the hospital and confronted him, accusing Lin Feng of causing trouble for the company.

Overwhelmed by anger, they overpowered the weak young master and ended up pushing him down the stairs of the hospital.
