Ancient Tears BloodLine

Chapter 1705: Nothing Went Wrong

  • Next Chapter

Outside

Elder Freya and the others were watching the passage. The foreign creatures had stopped coming, so they were waiting for the space crack to close. The elders were waiting with bated breath.

Freya’s expression was grim. She looked toward the main battlefield and the special battlefield. She felt guilty while looking toward the special battlefield.

They had guided more foreign creatures to the main battlefield than to the special battlefield. She thought Zack Lockwood would have faced more than 100 foreign creatures.

Because of this, she was deeply concerned, but they didn’t have any other choice. Zack Lockwood was her clan member as well, and she knew the power of his bloodline.

She believed Zack Lockwood had a higher chance of survival.

Creak!

Just then, the space crack at the front closed. Seeing that, Freya and the other elders sighed in relief.

They had been worried that a greater number of foreign creatures might have come through.

Now that the front space crack was closed, they could release everyone from the battlefield.

"Let’s check the special battlefield first," Freya said suddenly.

Hearing that, the others agreed; they knew what they had done. They had guided more foreign creatures to the special battlefield.

Meanwhile,

I was circulating an incomplete ancient healing technique to recover. The special veins were helping my body recover faster.

The special veins were absorbing more of the special energy from the surroundings.

I could feel the injuries on my skin and flesh healing. The bruises on my fists were healing as well.

Seeing the special veins at work, my mouth curved into a smile.

I had to thank Elder Ann for this technique. She had given me a priceless gift, and it was now helping me out.

As time went by, I remained focused on the healing. It didn’t take long for me to feel the rejection force, and I sighed inwardly.

Shortly afterward,

My body was ejected from the space crack, and I landed on the ground. I looked around and found myself back in the city. I didn’t know what had happened to the others.

"It’s good that it’s over. I was worried you would be facing an endless number of foreign creatures," the ancient spirit said.

"The elders must have been observing from the outside. They knew my limit," I replied.

Swoosh!

Next, I departed from the place and headed back toward my residence. Soon, I returned to my room.

After going inside, I shut the door and walked into the living room.

My gaze fell on the large screen. I turned it on to check on the main battlefield. A news report about the main battlefield began playing.

The news anchor was talking about the casualty rate. The death toll was over a hundred.

The main battlefield had been swarmed by elite creatures. Upon hearing that, my expression hardened.

I knew there would be casualties. The highest-ranked elite creatures had appeared this time, and they had proven to be a challenge even for me.

Therefore, it was only natural for these warriors to face death.

I continued to watch the news. I wanted to know what types of creatures they had faced, and whether Jelloth and Dead Fang had appeared on the main battlefield.

The news anchor then discussed the elite creatures.

The horned humanoid, the misshapen creature, and the Dead Fang were reported to have appeared on the main battlefield.

These creatures were responsible for the majority of the casualties there.

However, the news I was waiting to hear never came. There was no mention of the second- and third-ranked creatures.

I had fought against Jelloth and the humanoid creature myself, but they seemed not to have appeared on the main battlefield at all.

"What’s going on?" I asked myself.

The ancient spirit heard this as well. It had suspected something earlier, and now it could confirm it.

"I think you forgot that the foreign creatures were diverted to the special battlefield through outside interference. The elders must have been sending them to you," the ancient spirit said.

My eyes flashed with understanding. Now that I knew the main battlefield didn’t encounter Jelloth, the elders must have diverted them to the special battlefield instead. I didn’t know what to say.

Either they didn’t want the warriors on the main battlefield to be wiped out, or they had immense confidence in my abilities.

I shook my head and turned off the screen. Then, I headed to the bathroom and took a twenty-minute bath.

After stepping out, I changed into comfortable clothes. I felt utterly exhausted; I had never fought for this long before.

I walked over to the bed and lay down.

Meanwhile,

The elders had returned to the council hall.

They had initially tried to open the special battlefield first, only to discover that Zack Lockwood had completely wiped out the foreign creatures. It had shocked them at the time.

Then, they shifted their attention to the main battlefield and brought those warriors out first. Only afterward did they return to the special battlefield to retrieve Zack Lockwood.

In the council hall, all the elders had gathered once the reports arrived. Freya and the others began reviewing them.

The death toll was high this time, despite them having diverted the majority of the threats to the special battlefield.

They had intentionally placed more of the danger onto Zack Lockwood. If they had allowed even half of that threat to reach the main battlefield, the death toll would have skyrocketed.

The other elders looked grim. Then, some of them asked about the special battlefield.

After learning what Freya and the others had done, they were left speechless.

They knew about the top-ranked elite creatures; they had seen Jelloth and the humanoid creature.

Yet, Zack Lockwood had eliminated them all. It demonstrated just how terrifying Zack Lockwood truly was.

None of the elders present could have survived attacks from both Jelloth and the humanoid creature.

They knew the top-ranked creatures could unleash potent dark origin power capable of countering ancient inheritance arts.

Some of the council elders began to harbor fear toward Zack Lockwood.

If he could slay top-ranked elite creatures, he could eliminate the council elders with ease as well.

However, none of them voiced this aloud. To admit it openly would be humiliating. Instead, they quickly changed the subject and continued discussing the foreign creatures.
