An Awakener with the Gamer Class
Chapter 107: Play
"100 thousand dollars. Wyatt is truly greedy," Violet said.
The two security guards were stunned by her words.
"You know our boss?" the one who had been speaking asked.
"No, but I’ve beaten him up twice in Moba World," Violet replied.
"You?" Both security guards were astonished.
Their mouths opened and closed, unable to find words.
Violet said nothing more.
She walked over to the cashier’s counter and placed down a card.
"I want to play on the third floor. Give me 100 thousand dollars’ worth of chips," she said.
Although the casino apparently used a digital money system, they still called it chips.
The cashier was quite surprised by how young Violet was. Normally, people who purchased that many chips were usually in their forties or older.
But to a casino, every deposit was money for them. The cashier naturally served Violet immediately.
In the end, she was given a silver VIP Tier 1 card.
Violet brought it back to the staircase and showed it to the two security guards.
They were still stunned, looking at Violet cautiously, until one of them suddenly remembered something.
"I know her. She’s Violet Muller," he said.
"Violet Muller? Who’s Violet Muller?" his companion asked.
"Look at this!" The security guard pulled out his phone, which was now displaying Violet’s profile.
"A new Awakener with an S-Class Talent. She’s said to be extremely formidable. Her Level is also already quite high."
"Really?" The security guard was shocked, his heart trembling despite the fact that he was usually the one intimidating gamblers.
"Should we report her to the boss?"
"Hey, think about it. What did that woman just say? She has already beaten up the boss twice."
"What exactly happened between them?"
"Who knows? Maybe they had a conflict."
"Alright, we’d better keep quiet."
"..."
They weren’t stupid enough to believe that their boss was truly that powerful compared to the high-level Awakeners.
Usually, whenever high-level Awakeners came to this casino, their boss would treat them well and make sure they won.
Violet finally reached the third floor, which was truly luxurious, with gambling tables covered in red silk.
Beautiful and handsome waiters served the guests, offering them wine and snacks.
They didn’t even refuse when players pulled them down to sit on their laps.
Only here did Enzo see middle-aged women sitting and gambling while being accompanied by handsome young men on their left and right.
As he observed table after table, he suddenly became stunned.
His uncle, Alex Muller—the father of Bella.
He actually saw him here, sitting at a table surrounded by eight sofas.
The man wasn’t merely playing.
He was accompanied by a young woman wearing short pants who was sitting on his lap.
Judging by her age, she seemed to be around the same age as Violet.
And she wasn’t the only one.
Enzo even saw Paul Walton, the bald middle-aged man, sitting at the same table.
Unlike the others, however, there was no woman sitting on his lap or embracing him. He was completely alone on his sofa, wearing a serious expression.
There were six players at the table—four middle-aged men and two middle-aged women.
The two women were also accompanied by handsome young men.
Enzo sighed several times after seeing his uncle.
After thinking for a moment, he moved Violet toward the table.
She walked over without concealing herself, naturally attracting the attention of everyone at that table and the surrounding tables.
As a young guest, especially a woman, she easily attracted attention.
Paul and Alex eventually noticed her.
Paul was shocked, while Alex nearly jumped in surprise.
How could he not?
Alex had also once been a victim of Violet.
At the time, he had tried to steal some meat from the cow Violet had killed.
In the end, the woman had robbed him instead.
Although he held a grudge against her, Alex could only keep it to himself.
He had been following information about Violet through his daughter until now, and every new piece of information only made him more afraid of her.
Violet acted indifferent, as though she didn’t recognize either Alex or Paul.
She simply sat down on an empty sofa and placed her silver casino card on the table, while everyone else had gold cards that required a one-million-dollar deposit.
"Give me some cards too," she said to the dealer.
This was simply a game of poker. Enzo naturally understood how to play it.
Although Charlotte had warned him never to try gambling, his true purpose here wasn’t really to gamble.
"Yes..." The dealer nodded.
"Miss, the minimum bet here is 20K, and the house takes 1K from every game. Are you sure you want to play here?" one of the middle-aged women asked with a charming smile.
"Why do you think I’m not sure?" Violet replied indifferently.
Everyone else had a gold card while hers was silver.
That was why Violet was being underestimated.
"Hehehe, I was only asking. Since you’re sure, you can play. Come on, deal the cards."
The dealer immediately began dealing.
Violet took the cards and looked at them, allowing Enzo to see them as well.
Two Aces.
He was quite stunned.
"I’m first. I’ll raise the bet to 75K!" The middle-aged woman who had spoken to Violet earlier spoke again, swiping her casino card across the card reader in front of her.
Violet glanced at her for a moment.
Through fluctuations, she could tell that the woman had a King and a Queen.
Fluctuations allowed her to know the cards held by every opponent.
"I’ll call!" Violet said, as she was second in turn.
She placed down her two cards and swiped her casino card.
Just like that, she had only 25K in chips remaining.
"I’ll call!" Alex, who came after her, also called.
He had looked tense ever since Violet appeared.
Her presence clearly made him uncomfortable.
He no longer seemed to be enjoying the young woman sitting on his lap.
Two Jacks.
Those were his cards.
Everyone else except Paul also called.
The dealer immediately placed three cards on the table—one Ace and one Jack among them.
Enzo showed a strange expression.
He wondered whether this was merely a coincidence or whether the dealer had deliberately arranged things to make Violet win.
Perhaps it was something like that.
Otherwise, how could someone become addicted if they never got to win?
The dealer looked toward the first middle-aged woman.
"Hahaha, then I’ll add another 25K!" She laughed while looking at Violet.
For her, she only needed a 10 to complete a straight.
How could she not raise the bet?
"Sorry, miss, if you run out of chips now. But I’m sure you can ask your father for more. One hundred thousand dollars should only be your pocket money."
Violet was too lazy to respond.
She simply followed the bet.
"I’ll call. Add another 50K!"
Alex not only called but raised the bet as well.
Three Jacks.
There was no way he would back down, no matter what happened.
Unfortunately, after seeing the result, the others began folding.
Pa!
The dealer added another card.
It was an Ace.
Four of a kind.
Violet crossed her legs.
The middle-aged woman frowned slightly.
Even so, she continued raising the bet, and Alex did the same.
Violet was no longer paid attention to because she didn’t have any chips left to bet.
She could only follow the first and second bets.
Pa!
The final card was placed on the table.
It turned out to be a 10.
The woman immediately smiled broadly because she had completed a straight.
"Add another 500 thousand. Do you still want to call?" she asked Alex, her eyes widening.
Alex immediately began trembling.
He was worried that the woman might have two Aces or perhaps another hand that could beat him.
Pa! Pa!
He threw his cards onto the table and shook his head.
"You’re smart," the woman said before looking toward Violet.
And Violet immediately threw down her two cards.
"You?" The middle-aged woman’s cheeks puffed up in shock.
Violet simply swiped her card as her move.
Her chips were returned to her, along with her winnings.
She now had more than 550K.
Another round of cards was dealt.
To Enzo’s surprise, Violet once again received two Aces.
Violet stared at the dealer with a strange expression.
After observing carefully, she realized that Alex had also received two Aces.
If things continued like this, there was no way either of them would end up with only three of a kind.
Alex was in the same situation.
Before the betting began, Violet threw down both of her cards.
She even left them face-up on the table.
"Two Aces again, and you’re giving up?" The middle-aged woman was stunned.
"Why bother forcing it?" Violet replied.
Alex looked at her with a strange expression.
He knitted his brows, wondering whether he should call or not.
The problem was that if someone had a straight, a flush, or three of a kind, he would lose.
