Chapter 568: Laying Down Ground Rules.

The night was quiet and Lily used her father’s body like a mattress and sprawled around the chest in whatever position she wanted to and Leo just lay dead on the bed, because he knew that his daughter was not going to settle down regardless of what he does, and so, he had gotten used to this habit of hers completely.

In the morning he woke up but the soft foot was not pressing against his chin and he found it rather confusing. He opened his eyes to look around and found that Lily was not there. In an instant he sat up straight and called out, "Lily!"

The door of the bathroom flung open and Lily walked over with her eyes still half closed. She climbed the bed and said, "I went to the toilet."

Her voice still out of sorts, but her actions were calm, Leo sighed and then he hugged her before gently putting her to sleep. She was tired, and it was not yet time for her to wake up, after all she was not doing any physical exercise and focused on meditation and exercise in balance, so the schedule had changed.

Leo let her sleep, cleaned up after himself, and changed into fresh clothes before heading out in the courtyard, because he had to deal with four kids today, and at the same time, he had no idea what the other three liked or disliked, that was a big obstacle when it came to handling the kids. Thinking about it, when he stepped out in the courtyard he wanted to chat with the three fathers and get some more understanding of the children but he found that none of them had woken up yet.

He sighed and mumbled, "I guess they are all rather tired at the moment."

Since the people were asleep, he began to prepare for a breakfast which would be liked by the children, pancakes. He used the basic facilities on the set to create the batter for the pancakes, and finally cooked them in the flatter pan that he could procure from Matthew Cottons’ supplies.

As he was cooking, Nova Delectus came out of his room, the man was surprised to see that someone else was awakened before him. He nodded to Leo and the latter asked, "Nova, can you tell me if Maya has any allergies or things that I should be mindful of during the day?"

Nova thought for a bit and said, "She is not allergic to anything but doesn’t like strawberries and peanuts."

Leo nodded and then Nova asked him softly, "Do you really have to be so detailed? After all, it is just watching the kids for a day."

Leo smiled and replied calmly, "We all think that handling children is easy, but that is the exact moment when we are underestimating them. All the children have their own thoughts, and their own opinions. However, if you let them express their opinions, you will find that they are no less smart than us, so-called adults."

Nova was surprised and Leo said, "Don’t worry, you will know in the future, just give it some time. I can tell that you have only just started to connect with Maya and you are afraid of doing anything that might hurt her. It’s good that you have fear of such a thing because this will keep you on your toes, but gradually, try to ask her before you do anything and remember her preferences, believe me you will not regret it."

Nova stood beside him, thinking if what Leo said was good. Then he nodded and said, "I will get ready to head out. Maya might be sleeping in today."

Leo smiled and nodded while he turned a pancake in the pan. After half an hour, when the three fathers came out of their rooms, they found that the courtyard was filled with a faint aroma, they knew what this scent was, and they walked over to the side where a table was set up, and found Isedol sitting across Lily and having a plate of pancakes.

Matthew raised his brow and said, "I say, beauty Isedol, what wind blew you into our courtyard at this hour? Aren’t you usually sleeping in for beauty sleep?"

Isedol rolled her eyes and said, "Do you think everyone is as lazy as you? I was watching the streaming and found that Master Cardinal was cooking breakfast for you all, and the kids all on his own, so I felt ashamed and came to visit."

Matthew felt a twitch develop on his lips and mumbled, "Calm down, Cottons, she is a child."

The two men beside him almost laughed, but they held it in, and sat down to eat their own share of breakfast. Shortly after the three children also walked out and they sat beside Lily. Maya asked, "Big Sister Lily, Papa told me that today Uncle Leo would be looking after us? Is that true?"

Lily nodded and asked, "Do you want to go to the farm with Uncle Nova?"

Maya shook her head and said, "I will stay here and play with you."

Lily smiled and held the little one in her own hand.

The audience who saw this were melting, well two little cute girls trying to be supportive of each other was adorable to watch. After they finished eating, Leo smiled as he stood up before the children and then squatted down to meet their gaze on the same level and said, "Everyone, today I would be looking after you, if you have anything that you don’t like, or want to do, then please come over to tell me about it, okay?"

The three children were surprised, this was the first time an adult had given them free reign, however, just when they were getting their hopes up, Leo said, "But we have to establish a few rules. Okay?"

The three kids were confused and Leo said, "We cannot do something that is harmful or dangerous. We must make sure that whatever we do doesn’t disturb anyone else, or if someone is not interested in it we must not push them to try along, okay?..."

He laid down a few rules and three kids nodded, before they recited the rules to him. Leo nodded in approval and said, "If you do well today, then I will make you all some good food to your liking in the evening, okay?"

The four children collectively cheered, ’Yay!’
