Chapter 565: Earning Eggs.

Leo was talking to Snow, who teased him a bit but then the lady asked, "Well, I have another news for you."

Leo raised his brow and asked, "What is going on?"

Snow replied, "His Majesty has decided to declare the Peach Town as a National Heritage location. The people can live their with peace, the nation will make sure that they get all the development that they need without disturbing the architecture and changing the landscape."

Leo smiled and said, "That is a good thing, but His Majesty certainly won’t get any big reviews from your darling daughter."

Snow chuckled and replied, "Well, he asked to make Lily as the honorary liaison with the town. She will not mind that."

Leo chuckled, "I didn’t expect this little one to have such a high reach in the nation. I guess, it is time I stop teasing her."

Snow chuckled and replied, "That would become another debacle."

The couple finished talking soon, and Leo had managed to clean the entire cowshed clean. The dung was all placed in a wheelbarrow, and the young man dutifully moved it all to the side where it was being collected, and he thought about something, as he mumbled, "What is the use of all this dung?"

Just when he was wondering, the comments began to rise, "Family head is about to experience life."

"Lord Cardinal, it is time for your agriculture class."

"If Lily found that her father is ignorant, won’t she be embarrassed?"

"Hey, you all, stop talking bad about him, he is a tech mogul, if he could handle cow dung so well, he would have been the agriculture mogul. Shut it and let him learn."

Even some of the direction team people who were watching it all wanted to laugh out loud but they limited the expression to just smile. Leo had no idea that his lamentation had just caused his aura to take a hit. Anyway, he finished cleaning the shed at a breakneck speed, and more than that, he washed the cows while waiting for the next task. For some odd reason, none of the cow was nervous around him, they all stood calmly and they let him wash him with a hose and then brush them all.

When after an hour, Holly and Lily came out talking and chuckling, they found that the cowshed had transformed into what looked like a cow exhibition. All the cows were clean and the floor was also clean. Holly saw that Leo was waxing the horns of a cow who was licking his clothes. The young man didn’t seem to mind it and on the contrary he was talking to the animal as if she was a human.

She took a deep breath and Lily said, "See, Aunty Holly, I told you that my Baba can do anything and everything, right?"

She was unaware that her chin had risen slightly in the void as she praised Leo. Then she stepped into the shed with a skip in her step, and she even checked a few cows that watched her. The little girl was similar to Leo, she talked to the cows and when any of them leaned her head down, Lily would pat and stroke the fur gently and smiled brightly.

Holly had no idea what these two people were doing but she didn’t mind it either, the atmosphere around didn’t feel bad. When Leo finished polishing the horns of the last one, he turned to greet Holly and said, "Sister Holly, some of them need to get their hooves checked, I saw them flinching, it could be infected."

Holly nodded and replied, "I have called the vet to take a look at it, but he will come back tomorrow, they will be fine, I have mixed some pain relief medicine in the feed."

Leo raised his brow and Holly replied after guessing his thought, "Don’t worry, it is not drug, it is just some natural herbs that we cultivate around here, they will keep these guys away from pain. It is a legal remedy."

The young man nodded and asked, "Can you tell me something?"

Holly nodded with a confused gaze, and Leo asked, "What do you do with all this cow dung that is collected over there?"

Holly smiled and replied, "We ferment it, when the dung develops maggots, we extract them and feed the chickens, the chicken droppings are rich in nitrogen so they are mixed in the dry cow dung, and then we put the pig dung in it, before placing this collected amount into the underground chamber, where it ferments faster due to the heat and produces methane, we collect the methane into small tanks for use, and other than that we can also sell it. Although many people are switching to electric stoves, some still buy methane tanks."

Leo nodded and replied, "I assure you, flame cooking is the best cooking, electric stoves don’t emit that smoky scent to my food, and I have to use the coal technique many times. It is becoming rather tiresome."

Holly shrugged and replied, "Each to their own."

Then Leo helped her with shifting the cow dung in the assigned dry area, and then they took care of the pig pen before they sat down inside the kitchen where Holly cooked some eggs and Leo cooked some naan bread. The lunch was sumptuous and the people were eating with great relish. Then they were back at work.

From morning to evening, they had been working and Holly asked, "Do you guys know that I cannot finish this much work even if I hire two adults, yet you two have covered up for the entire week."

Lily smiled and replied, "Well, Aunty, it is all thanks to my Baba, he is the almighty one."

Leo had an amused expression and said, "Oh, am I? I thought I was the best at shoveling shit."

Lily stuck out her tongue and said, "Baba, wise people don’t hold grudges."

Holly chuckled and said, "Well, for what it’s worth, you have my gratitude."

Then she passed a box of eggs to Leo and said, "This is your pay for the days work."

Leo looked at the box and waved his hands as he said, "Sister Holly, you thank me and now you are paying me. This is bad."

He was not acting pretentious, but he was really feeling bad to accept the eggs. Holly shook her head and replied, "If gratitude was the payment method, the economy would have crashed long ago. Take it. This is what you have earned."

Leo sighed and took the box, he could sense that this box had around two hundred and ten eggs, contained in three different layers. Lily looked at the box and said, "I call dibs on egg curry masala, and egg fried rice, and..."

Leo held his face in his palm and said, "You glutton."

Just then, they heard the tractor coming over to pick them up.
