Leon’s eyes cracked open slowly. The world around him was still — a vast, quiet mountain base stretching endlessly into the pale mist. And standing right before him, with that infuriatingly calm smile plastered across his face, was the White Fox.

“A month ?” Leon replied with a neutral expression.

“Three years.” White Fox said it simply, like it was the most natural thing in the world. “No one could perform it more than twice a day. ’Well, that wouldn’t be a problem for me.’

Leon held his expression neutral as the thought crossed his mind.

White Fox’s gaze sharpened, his ancient eyes narrowing just a fraction as they studied him.

Silence.

Leon met his gaze with nothing but a faint, mocking curl at the corner of his lips.

White Fox sighed, not in defeat, but in patience. “Very well. I can’t force the answer out of you.” His smile returned, slow and dangerous. “But I will have my answers eventually. Because when you fail the deal… I’ll take over your body. Your mind. Every memory you’ve ever buried.”

“Then I suppose,” Leon replied, the smile never leaving his face, “we’ll just have to wait and see.”

The mist thickened. Darkness crept in from the edges of his vision like curtains being slowly drawn shut.

And then — nothing.

“…Leon?”

“…Master?”

The first thing he saw were eyes — two pairs of them, watching him with quiet demeanor.

Selene. And Elis.

Leon blinked the last of the dreamscape from his mind and straightened, rolling the stiffness from his shoulders. “What—” He looked at Selene first, then at Elis.”Selene, what are you doing up here?”

He shifted his gaze. “Elis. How long was I out?”

“Approximately two hours, Master.” Elis replied, her posture neat and composed as always.

“Mm.” Leon processed that. “Are you full ? All your mana restored ?”

“Good. You can leave now.” He commanded.

Elis disappeared without a sound, like smoke swallowed by the wind.

Selene moved first.
