Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 510: What a Grand Spectacle
Chapter 510 -255: What a Grand Spectacle
A chilling, murderous aura began to spread, inciting the distant Shrieking Fungi to let out wave after wave of screams.
“So this is Shedakra.”
On the Stargazing Platform, Pei Ze looked down with great interest at the scenery below.
It was as desolate and bleak as the Wanyuan Plain, the air permeated by an unsettling, chaotic aura.
Yet, compared to the Wanyuan Plain, the fungi covering the hills and wilderness gave off an additional, bizarrely desolate feeling that made one’s skin crawl.
Pei Ze’s gaze shifted to the wilderness a kilometer away. It appeared empty, but under his Spirit scan, he detected over a dozen creatures that looked like clumps of brownish-green, tumor-covered plants scattering in all directions.
Phantom Mushrooms.
Pei Ze recognized the creatures instantly.
The growths on the heads of these fungal creatures were sensory organs. They were accustomed to using their split maws, filled with sharp, calcified teeth, to feed and attack. Four short, thick legs supported them, allowing them to move about.
It was worth noting that Phantom Mushrooms were born with an advanced Invisibility Spell. The effect was innate and persisted as long as they were alive; it couldn’t be nullified by spells that dispel invisibility. They only became visible upon death.
This ability made Phantom Mushrooms feared predators in the Abyss.
Countless demons had been careless, only to be ambushed and killed by Phantom Mushrooms and turned into their next meal.
HUM!
An invisible ripple spread out.
Immediately after, a deep, resonant voice suddenly echoed in everyone’s ears.
“Attack.”
It was the voice of Xi Nan.
This newly-ascended Rule Wizard was decisive. Seeing that the grand army had established its foothold, he immediately issued the order to attack.
RUMBLE!
The Golem Legion was the first to charge.
Tens of thousands of golems advanced in formation. They either swung their heavy fists or spewed forth vast swaths of flame, frost, and lightning, continuously destroying all the fungi in their path.
The fungi of Shedakra commonly possessed abilities like concealment, hallucination, and deadly poison, posing a great threat to intelligent, flesh-and-blood beings. Against the golems, however—whose bodies were made entirely of metal or rock and possessed no emotions of their own—these effects were negligible.
Under the Golem Legion’s cleansing sweep, large numbers of Shrieking Fungi, Purple Fungi, and Phantom Mushrooms were forced out of hiding and tried to scatter, only to be hunted down and annihilated by the pursuing golems.
In just a moment, a large, clear area had been carved out of the wilderness.
Only then did the Slave Legion and the Silver Light Legion begin their advance.
Just then, a layer of hazy shadows appeared in the distance, sweeping toward them like a tide.
As it drew closer, they realized the shadow was composed of innumerable Mushroom People.
These Mushroom People looked like oversized, humanoid mushrooms with mouths full of sharp teeth, wielding a variety of weapons. They appeared chaotic and without formation, but the overwhelming killing intent they radiated was enough to make one’s heart tighten.
‘Corrupted Mushroom People, I see.’
Pei Ze’s brow lifted slightly.
Mushroom People were a unique species, somewhere between plant and animal. They were gentle by nature, fed on other fungi, and typically lived in communities within the Dark Territory. They had inhabited the deep subterranean forests long before the Dark Elves appeared, making them the true natives of the Dark Territory.
It was only later that Lady Fungi took action, capturing most of the Mushroom People and bringing them to Shedakra. She then used her power to corrupt them into bloodthirsty Half-Demons, which is why the Mushroom People had all but vanished from the Dark Territory.
While Pei Ze was lost in thought, the torrent of Mushroom People slammed into the Golem Legion. In an instant, the two sides were locked in a brutal melee, unleashing a storm of blood and viscera.
Looking down at the war below, Pei Ze felt a surge of emotion.
During the war on the Turin Plane, he had also been one of the soldiers fighting on the battlefield below, nothing more than an insignificant pawn. He imagined the Elemental Mages in the sky back then must have been looking down on the battle from on high, just as he was now.
Now, however, he had become one of them, experiencing the feeling of looking down upon the masses from on high.
Shaking his head, Pei Ze reined in his stray thoughts and gazed into the distance. His line of sight traveled hundreds of kilometers, finally resting on the distant Fungi Castle.
Innumerable demons, appearing as black dots, flew out of the castle, streaking toward the battlefield like bolts of lightning.
Iron Cavalry Demons, Giant Bull Demons, Flame Demons… Without exception, they were all Mid-to-High Tier Demons.
This was the true main force under Lady Fungi’s command.
The Mushroom People were merely cannon fodder and rank-and-file soldiers.
Seeing the enemy’s main force deployed, Xi Nan unhesitatingly ordered the Wizard Towers to engage.
With a deafening whistle, hundreds of Wizard Towers shot forward like meteors to meet the demon legion.
While still en route, countless rays of runic light swept out like a tempest, annihilating over a thousand demons in an instant.
Immediately after, a large number of golems flew out from the Wizard Towers, fearlessly charging the demon legion.
Pei Ze also deployed two thousand of his golems, including one hundred Sky-Ringing Golems.
Due to the lack of time, he had only managed to upgrade one hundred of his Sky-Ringing Golems.
Even so, one hundred units of Fourth-level High-tier Combat Power constituted an extremely formidable force.
The moment they engaged, the Sky-Ringing Golems simultaneously raised their right hands and chopped downward like sharp axes. In that instant, with a muffled sound like tearing silk, the void itself twisted and shattered, unleashing a visible, crescent-shaped silver slash that tore through the air.
Dimension Slash!
The few fifth-level elite Flame Demons who were targeted didn’t even have time to resist. In a flash, they were shredded into pulp by a hundred Dimension Slashes. Their bodies exploded into a bloody mist that was subsequently swallowed by the resulting spatial turbulence.
UPROAR!
The surrounding demons looked as if they had seen a ghost, scrambling to put distance between themselves and the golems.
When had they ever seen such terrifying golems?
Could they be the legendary Magic Power Constructs?
The Wizards inside the Wizard Towers were also stunned by this scene.
The Councillors included.
“Magic Power Constructs?” A hint of astonishment appeared in Yin Yongqin’s eyes, but he immediately dismissed his own speculation. ‘No, that’s not right. Their power isn’t at the level of a Magic Power Construct.’
Magic Power Constructs like Arcane Guards and Magic Power Armor started at the fifth level at a minimum.
And while these golems were powerful, they weren’t at the fifth level. At best, they were at the mid-to-high tier of the fourth level.
Even so, the shock in Yin Yongqin’s heart didn’t lessen in the slightest.
‘Has Pei Ze developed another new golem?’
Yin Yongqin marveled internally.
With the precedent of the Thunder God Golem, it only took a moment of thought for Yin Yongqin to guess that this must be another new type of golem developed by Pei Ze.
‘To think he can even create fourth-level golems. His enchanting skills must have reached the sixth tier, and it’s not impossible that they’re even at the seventh.’
In truth, the enchanting skills needed to craft a fourth-level golem weren’t much different from those needed for a Magic Power Construct. The main distinction lay in the quality of the raw materials required.
Since Pei Ze could develop a new type of fourth-level golem, it meant that once he ascended to become a Rule Wizard, creating Magic Power Constructs would be no problem for him.
With this level of skill, it was no exaggeration to call him an Enchantment Master.
Across the entire Star Realm Alliance, there were definitely no more than twenty Wizards who possessed such a degree of skill in enchanting.
‘Potion crafting, alchemical enchanting, and a rapid increase in personal power… Just how does Pei Ze manage to progress in so many areas at once?’
Even Yin Yongqin, who had lived for thousands of years and was incredibly worldly, couldn’t help but marvel at this moment.
RUMBLE!
A deafening roar thundered across the sky above the wasteland.
Screams and howls echoed ceaselessly.
As more and more demons poured in from the direction of the castle, the war reached a fever pitch.
The three great legions clashed brutally with the Mushroom People and demons.
The Wizard Towers and elite demons were likewise locked in fierce combat.
Meanwhile, the Wizard Towers housing the nine Councillors flew straight through the battlefield without pause, heading directly for the Fungi Castle.
A few foolhardy elite demons tried to intercept them along the way, but they were blasted to ash by cannon fire before they could even get close.
In the blink of an eye, the nine Wizard Towers reached the Fungi Castle and formed a perimeter, surrounding it.
Two figures drifted lazily out of the castle. They were none other than Pan Mo and Lady Fungi.
Pan Mo’s grim gaze swept across the towers, a cold sneer spreading across his face.
“All nine permanent Councillors, deployed at once… just to deal with me. What a grand spectacle.”
