Chapter 395: Chapter 208: The Golden Oak Tree’s Request, Discussion of the 4 Races
’The Red Agate Mountain Range, huh.’
Pei Ze nodded to himself. As long as he knew the specific destination, things would be much easier.
With several clans of Magical Creatures gathered together, a target that large shouldn’t be difficult to find.
"Is everyone alright?" Pasha asked, looking toward the other Thorn Spirits.
Cameron said, "We only suffered some minor injuries. Thanks to Lord Pei Ze’s timely intervention, there were no deaths."
After a pause, he looked at the Earthworm corpse in the distance, a hint of worry on his face.
"Earthworms are engineering units in the Alien Insect Army. They are relatively rare and always move with the main force. Since they’ve appeared here, it means the main Alien Insect Army can’t be far away."
At these words, many of the Thorn Spirits present turned pale.
The reason they had managed to hold on for so long was their unity, but more importantly, the fact that only a small detachment of the Alien Insect Army had been attacking their forest.
But once the main Alien Insect Army arrived, they would stand no chance of resisting.
At that point, they would likely have to consider migrating.
But the Alien Insects’ offensive was growing more and more ferocious. Now that more than half the plane had been occupied by them, even if they migrated, how long could they last?
For a moment, the atmosphere grew heavy.
Just then, a Flower Fairy suddenly flew over and chirped, "Pasha! Pasha! The elder wants to see you."
It then glanced at Pei Ze and added, "And he said to invite the guest, too."
Pasha snapped back to her senses, acknowledged, and then looked at Pei Ze. "Lord Pei Ze..."
Pei Ze raised a hand to interrupt her, smiling. "Let’s go. When the host of this place extends an invitation, how could I refuse?"
’Since I’m already here, I might as well meet the elder who’s been leading the Spirit Creatures in their defense of the forest.’
Pasha’s expression brightened, and she quickly moved ahead to lead the way.
Cameron turned and gave an order—"The injured, go get treated. The rest of you, continue the patrol"—then followed Pasha and Pei Ze into the depths of the forest.
The deeper they went into the forest, the taller and more enormous the trees became. Pei Ze keenly felt the vigorous life force in the air.
’This is a good place for a Wood Element Mage to cultivate,’ Pei Ze thought.
The concentration of the wood element here was at least a dozen times higher than outside. Cultivating here to advance his elementalization would be incredibly efficient.
Pei Ze had also considered finding a place rich in the thunder element to cultivate.
However, a suitable place was not easy to find.
A Thunder Elemental Half-Plane, for instance, had an extremely high elemental concentration, but it was no place to cultivate in peace.
Never mind the Thunder Elemental Spirits that attacked on sight; the lightning that could strike at any moment was enough to make one keep a wide berth.
He had no desire to be struck by lightning right in the middle of his cultivation.
Thunderfall Valley in the Shadow Realm was the same.
Not only were there falling thunderbolts, but there were also Thunder Abyss Giants.
’Or, after I build a Wizard Tower, I could use the Element Pool to artificially construct a Cultivation Room with a high concentration of the thunder element. That wouldn’t be a bad idea.’
As Pei Ze was pondering, Pasha’s voice suddenly reached his ears.
"This is the elder’s guest."
Pei Ze looked up and saw that his group had unknowingly arrived at a place that resembled a village.
All sorts of treehouses were perched among the canopies at varying heights. They were connected by ladders woven from vines and branches, forming a simple village. It looked wild and crude, yet it possessed a natural quality, as if it were one with its surroundings.
Two towering trees, four or five meters apart, formed a natural gateway where two Solan Tree People stood guard.
Solan Tree People are the barbaric and powerful cousins of treants.
Their bodies were composed entirely of wood covered in bark. They looked like strong, well-built humans, but with a distorted appearance.
Their fingers were gnarled branches, and their feet looked like a multitude of black roots.
Both Solan Tree People held giant wooden shields and clubs, their small, pitch-black eyes staring warily at Pei Ze from deep-set sockets.
Only after hearing Pasha say he was the elder’s guest did the two Solan Tree People’s expressions relax, and they slowly moved aside.
’It seems this Spirit Realm has a considerable number of elite combatants,’ Pei Ze thought, a contemplative look on his face.
Adult Solan Tree People possessed combat strength equivalent to at least level two.
Some Solan Tree People who had lived long enough could even reach level three.
As long as there were several dozen to a hundred Solan Tree People in this forest, a small-scale Alien Insect force could do little to this Spirit Realm.
Entering the village, Pasha led Pei Ze straight toward the center.
The village rarely seemed to see outsiders. The Spirit Creatures they encountered along the way all sized up Pei Ze curiously, whispering nonstop among themselves.
Before long, the three of them passed through the dense cluster of treehouses and arrived at the center of the village.
What met his eyes was a colossal, golden-yellow oak tree that soared into the clouds, its branches spreading wide.
The oak tree’s beauty stood in stark contrast to the wildness of its surroundings. It was like witnessing a real-life illusion, brimming with a sense of the fantastical.
Furthermore, with the oak tree at the center, the surrounding air was suffused with an extremely faint cyan hue—the wood element, so concentrated it had become tangible.
A massive amount of the wood element was drawn to the oak tree, gathering around it and repelling all other elemental energies.
In this situation, even an Elemental Mage—unless they were a Wizard who had ignited the Fire of the Wood Element—would find their combat effectiveness reduced by at least thirty to forty percent.
A solemn look crossed Pei Ze’s face.
He had recognized the origin of the golden oak tree before him—a Golden Oak Tree!
This was an extremely rare legendary plant lifeform!
Any Golden Oak Tree was a plant that had lived for at least ten thousand years. They could be called natural-born Wood Element Mages.
