Chapter 343: Chapter 192: Instantaneous Energy Body, Thunderbolt Demigod Blood

"Also, *I’m* the one attacking Bean City, not *we*," Annie corrected Gu Lin. "With your level of strength, you can’t even beat a single Dark Elf warrior. You should just hide on the side and watch later, so you don’t get yourself killed."

Gu Lin’s eyes widened in frustration. She wanted to retort, but the words died in her throat as her resolve deflated.

Just two hours ago, she had nearly been killed by a Dark Elf’s surprise attack at close range. If Annie hadn’t intervened, she would already be dead.

The Dark Elves’ treacherous and vicious fighting style was perfectly suited to the natural darkness of the Dark Territory, making it impossible to guard against, even for a Level 1 Crystalized Wizard like her.

’If it were Pei Ze, the Dark Elves probably couldn’t even touch a hair on his head.’

Gu Lin was suddenly reminded of Pei Ze. His terrifying Defense Power, displayed during the planar war, had left a deep impression on her.

Forget everything else—just his hundreds of layers of Mage Armor alone were impenetrable. The Dark Elves could swing their daggers until they sparked and still not hope to break through.

’The gap between him and me is just immense.’

Sighing to herself, Gu Lin refocused and continued, "The Gals Clan may be one of the lower-ranking Dark Elf Clans, but they still have a population of over a thousand and the protection of the Spider Goddess, Rose. Is it really okay to attack them so rashly?"

Annie was drawing an Array on the ground; a line as red as blood appeared wherever her finger passed. Without looking up, she answered Gu Lin’s question.

"If it were one of the top five Dark Elf Clans, I might be a little more cautious. But with the Gals Clan, despite their thousand-strong population, only their Lady of the House is a Sixth-level Priestess. That amount of power is nothing to fear."

"As for Rose, what she loves most is slaughter and destruction. As long as we’re not trying to wipe out the entire Dark Elf Race, a single, insignificant clan isn’t worthy of her intervention."

Gu Lin frowned but had to admit that what Annie said seemed to make sense.

The Dark Elves were notorious throughout the Multiverse for their infighting. The root cause was the Spider Goddess, who enjoyed watching her followers fight amongst themselves. To please her, the Dark Elves slaughtered one another, vying for power.

For just a low-ranking clan, the Spider Goddess most likely wouldn’t get involved. At most, she would let other clans seek revenge, using the opportunity to enjoy another spectacle of slaughter.

"Of course, it wouldn’t matter even if Rose did make a move. Unless she descends in her true form, sending a lesser god or an avatar would just be delivering experimental materials to me."

Annie finished drawing the Array. A flicker of a satisfied smile crossed her eyes as she looked at the blood-red pattern on the ground.

"Alright, the preparations are complete. It’s time to make our move."

Annie extended a fair, slender index finger. A red gleam appeared at its tip, materializing into a drop of blood that fell into the center of the Array. The next second, the Array flared with a blinding, blood-colored light. Accompanied by a great fluttering sound, a dense swarm of bats flew out, surging like a tide toward the distant Bean City.

Gu Lin’s eyes widened in astonishment. She watched as the bats transformed in mid-air into warriors clad in black helmets and armor. Upon landing, they charged forward with Longswords in hand. Their movements were in perfect unison. Aside from the crisp clang of their armor, there was no other sound, exuding a cold and grim sense of order.

The mere sight of them sent a chill down one’s spine.

"Stay hidden. Don’t let the enemy find you."

Annie stood up and bit her thumb against her pearly white teeth. A drop of fresh blood seeped from her finger, like a brilliant Ruby on a field of snow.

With a wave of her hand, blood sprayed from the wound, forming a crescent moon in mid-air. It then converged and reshaped itself as if under command, materializing out of thin air into two blood-red Elf Rapiers that fell into her left and right hands.

Annie swung the twin swords. Their slender blades looked as if they were carved from Gemstones, their translucent, crystalline forms suffused with the deep red of blood.

"It’s been a long time since I’ve fought with melee weapons. Time to savor the feeling again."
