Chapter 311: Chapter 183: New and Old Hatreds, Burning Rune Disintegration

Terrified, Pei Xingxu no longer dared to underestimate Wuyu and quickly focused his Spirit to deal with the threat.

Meanwhile, Pei Ze kept an eye on Wuyu’s battle even as he fought his own.

A satisfied smile touched his lips when he saw Wuyu was evenly matched with its opponent.

According to the feedback from his Eye of Omniscience, both of these Wizards were at the Third Level of Gasification.

Wuyu had just completed its transformation and had yet to fully master its explosive new power, but it could already fight a Level 3 Gaseous Wizard to a standstill.

Once it became fully accustomed to the power within, it would even be able to hold its own against a Level 3 Liquidation Wizard.

"You arrogant bastard! How dare you get distracted while fighting me!"

A furious voice suddenly boomed in his ear, accompanied by a low, thunderous roar.

An immense ball of ice, radiating a bone-chilling cold, barreled toward him.

A Sixth Ring Spell, Othelloc Icebound Spell Ball!

Pei Ze’s expression remained unchanged. With a casual wave of his hand, a torrential storm of lightning spikes shot out, instantly shredding the ice ball to smithereens.

Pei Ze turned to the grim-faced Pei Shijie and scoffed, "Since you’re in such a hurry to die, I’ll grant you your wish."

As he spoke, his hands traced a tai chi circle before his chest. A dense network of silver patterns instantly surfaced on his arms. The profound Alchemy Engravings seemed to come alive, detaching from his skin and converging in midair to form an inverted triangular Array.

A full sixty-two Alchemy Patterns formed a series of rotating, intersecting rings. Dazzling and arcane golden threads, arranged in perfect rhythmic symmetry, transformed into a Rune Array brimming with profound power.

The next instant, a streak of golden light composed of countless minuscule runes shot out from the Array’s center, lancing through the void toward Pei Shijie like a bolt of lightning!

Runic Fissure!

To end things quickly, Pei Ze burned his Alchemy Engravings without hesitation.

The moment the streak of gold appeared, a chill shot straight up Pei Shijie’s spine. His scalp prickled as he felt the inescapable presence of death.

With no time for second thoughts, Pei Shijie activated every defensive measure he had. In an instant, countless multicolored halos of light burst into view around him.

The most prominent was a barrier of light that shimmered with a cold, metallic luster, standing firm before Pei Shijie. It radiated a sense of power as indestructible as the earth itself.

A Sixth Ring Spell, Wall of Bronze!

The next instant, the streak of golden light struck!

The defenses couldn’t slow it for even a fraction of a second. Upon contact with the golden light, the entire chain of protective spells disintegrated, shattered, and vanished without a trace.

Only when it reached the final layer, the Wall of Bronze, did the streak of golden light finally halt.

But before a look of joy could cross Pei Shijie’s face, a sharp CRACK echoed out. The Wall of Bronze instantly shattered and disintegrated.

The golden light continued unimpeded, slamming into his body.

"AHHH!!!"

An ear-piercing scream tore through the air.

The parts of Pei Shijie’s body struck by the golden light rapidly disintegrated, turning into gray dust that drifted away—first his skin, then his muscles and sinews.

In an instant, more than half the flesh on his body had been completely decomposed, exposing the stark white bone beneath. In several places, one could even see his writhing organs.

Hearing the scream, Pei Xingxu glanced back. His face paled in horror at the sight of Pei Shijie’s wretched, inhuman state.

He couldn’t believe it. The fight had started less than thirty seconds ago, and Pei Shijie had already been beaten into this wretched state!

It was simply unbelievable!

’What in the world just happened?’

In that moment of distraction, one of Wuyu’s claws nearly tore out his throat. Alarmed, Pei Xingxu quickly pulled back to create distance. Then, without hesitation, he activated his bloodline, instantly transforming into a Snake-man covered in black scales.

A chilling Power of Shadow swept out, dispelling the surrounding deathly aura.

Immediately after, an even icier aura erupted from Pei Xingxu’s body.

A shadowy, indistinct figure slowly materialized behind him, its form writhing as if struggling and wailing in agony.

Under the immense pressure, Pei Xingxu finally stopped holding back and decisively played his two trump cards: his bloodline and the Fell Creature.

As for Pei Shijie, one wrong move had led to disaster. Having lost the initiative and been grievously wounded, it was already too late for him to use his own trump cards.

Pei Ze gave him no chance to retaliate, immediately delivering the final blow. He ended Pei Shijie’s life with a hurled bolt of lightning.

His heart pierced by the lightning, Pei Shijie collapsed and died, his face a mask of indignation and despair.

Pei Ze gave a cold smile and turned on Pei Xingxu.

Pei Xingxu had been able to maintain the upper hand against Wuyu one-on-one, but the moment Pei Ze joined the fray, the tide of battle turned sharply against him.

Facing the combined assault of the man and his pet, Pei Xingxu was immediately put on the defensive, struggling desperately to fend them off.

An overwhelming sense of regret washed over him.

He’d heard plenty of stories about Pei Ze’s strength before. There were even rumors that despite being a Second-level Wizard, he already possessed power comparable to a Level 3 Wizard. But he had never taken them to heart.

He didn’t believe a Second-level Wizard could jump a rank and defeat a Level 3 Wizard, assuming the rumors were exaggerated.

But it wasn’t until he actually fought Pei Ze that Pei Xingxu realized the rumors were not only true but had actually understated his power!

Pei Ze’s power surpassed that of a Level 3 Gaseous Wizard; he was even stronger than a Level 3 Liquidation Wizard.

If not for the power boosts from his bloodline and the Fell Creature, he would have been killed as cleanly as Pei Shijie the moment the fight began.

Even now, he had no confidence he could win against Pei Ze. All he could think about was finding a chance to escape and report back to the Pei Family.

However, the moment that thought crossed his mind, Pei Xingxu saw a dense web of Alchemy Patterns flare to life on Pei Ze’s body, and his aura surged explosively.

Silver Body!

The next moment, more Lightning Runes condensed from thin air and swiftly sank into Pei Ze’s body.

Pei Ze’s already astonishing aura grew even more immense and powerful as he fused with the Lightning Runes. The lightning coiling around his body became so intense it was nearly blinding.

CRACKLE!

With a sharp crackle, Pei Ze clawed at the empty air. A Thunder Spear instantly materialized in his palm, and he immediately hurled it forward!

RUMBLE!

A bolt of lightning seemed to rip through the void, tearing the very sky in two and leaving a trail of blue-white light in its wake.

And at the end of that trail was Pei Xingxu!

Pei Xingxu didn’t even have time to react to Pei Ze’s ferocious attack. He saw only a flash of light before the Thunder Spear struck his chest.

Most of Pei Xingxu’s defenses had already been shattered in the preceding fight. What little he had left was torn apart in an instant. The Thunder Spear ran him through, and he plummeted from the sky, pinned to the ground below.

"Cough..."

Pei Xingxu coughed up a large mouthful of blood as the scales on his body rapidly receded, returning him to his human form.

As for the Fell Creature he had fused with, it had been incinerated by the searing lightning the moment the spear struck.

Compared to when he had fought Pei Lingjie, Pei Ze’s power had increased severalfold.

The kind of Fell Creature he once had to exhaust himself to destroy could now be dispatched with ease, without even needing to use his Bloodline Mark or burn his Alchemy Seal.

If he hadn’t wanted to end the fight quickly and prevent the two from escaping, he wouldn’t have resorted to burning his engravings for the Runic Fissure in the first place.

As Pei Ze slowly descended from the sky, a look of terror and supplication spread across Pei Xingxu’s ashen face.

But Pei Ze was unmoved. With a flick of his wrist, a metal spike shot out, ending Pei Xingxu’s life.

With the battle over, Pei Ze stowed away the two bodies, then turned to Su Ya and Peng Yan as they approached. "Let’s go. We’re leaving the valley."

Killing Yuri and his two companions was one thing, but now that two Level 3 Wizards were dead, the Pei Family would definitely not let this go. They would certainly use every means at their disposal to find the real culprit.

Pei Ze figured the Pei Family would soon discover he was the killer.

If things went as expected, the Pei Family would absolutely not let him get away with it. They would almost certainly dispatch forces to hunt him down.

The Pei Family had suffered heavy losses in a recent purge, leaving not even a single Level 4 Wizard among its survivors. But even a ruined ship still has some good iron in it. Pei Ze wasn’t arrogant enough to believe he could take on all the remaining Pei Family Wizards by himself.

He had to be prepared before they came for him.

Su Ya and Peng Yan always followed Pei Ze’s orders without question. They immediately brought over the Shadow Eagle, and the three of them hastily left the valley.
