Chapter 289: Chapter 172: Advancement to Level 2 Liquefaction, Gu Lin’s Farewell (Part 2)

Pei Ze couldn’t help but shake his head and chuckle.

Busy as he was, he still fulfilled his promise to the little one, taking her to the Slave Market to buy a batch of Flower Fairy slaves specifically to keep her company.

Flower Fairies and the Ten Thousand Flowers Fairy both belong to the Flower Fairy branch, but as their names suggest, the Ten Thousand Flowers Fairy is a nobler, Upper-Class Demon compared to the Flower Fairy.

Because of this, the Flower Fairy slaves held a genuine reverence for the little one and served her with great diligence.

With this group of more obedient underlings, the little one naturally stopped bothering the Withered Leaf Fairies.

Passing through the main hall, Pei Ze arrived in the backyard.

The Wood Elves and Withered Leaf Fairies were working diligently in the herb garden.

Pei Ze beckoned to the nearest Wood Elf, who immediately came over.

"Master, what are your orders?"

Pei Ze handed her a list. "Go to the warehouse, retrieve these materials, and deliver them to the potion lab."

"Yes, Master." The Wood Elf took the list, bowed, then turned to call over a few of her companions and hurried toward the warehouse.

Pei Ze, meanwhile, left and headed straight for the potion lab.

He had already used up all the Faith Crystals on hand and couldn’t concoct any more Divine Thought Potions for the time being, so he prepared to make Thunder Potions and Giant Hunt Potions instead.

He had already purchased all the necessary materials, which were now stored in his Space Ring.

Soon, the Wood Elves delivered the materials.

After waving them away, Pei Ze began concocting the potions.

Compared to the Divine Thought Potion, the Thunder Potion and Giant Hunt Potion were much simpler to make.

After three days, Pei Ze’s Space Ring held an additional thirty-five bottles of Thunder Potion and fifty bottles of Giant Hunt Potion.

The cost to produce one Giant Hunt Potion was over five hundred Magic Stone Coins, and it sold for twelve hundred Magic Stone Coins.

A bottle of Thunder Potion cost eight hundred Magic Stone Coins to make and sold for eighteen hundred Magic Stone Coins.

The profit margins weren’t large, so Pei Ze didn’t plan to concoct them for sale. Instead, he intended to use them all himself.

He only needed the Divine Thought Potion as his one flagship product.

After continuously consuming Giant Hunt Potions and Thunder Potions for half a month, Pei Ze’s strength had increased significantly.

First, his constitution attribute had soared to a staggering 170 energy levels, an increase of nearly 18 energy levels.

The cost was twenty bottles of Giant Hunt Potion.

As expected, the Giant Hunt Potion had almost no effect on him after this.

His affinity for Thunder Energy Particles was also noticeably enhanced. Combined with breaking through to the liquefaction stage of the second level and the explosive increase in constitution from the Giant Hunt Potions, Pei Ze could now bear seventy Lightning Runes on his body alone.

After fusing with the Silver Star, the number of Lightning Runes he could handle soared to a staggering one hundred and twenty-eight.

Pei Ze estimated that even without burning his Silver Body, just activating it, he could probably handle over two hundred Lightning Runes.

’If I burn my Silver Body, the number of Lightning Runes should increase to over two hundred and fifty.’

Pei Ze nodded to himself.

’I’ll give the remaining potions to Su Ya and Peng Yan.’

Stretching lazily, Pei Ze was about to begin his Meditation when he suddenly sensed a disturbance in the Guardian Array.

’Someone’s here to visit.’

And surprisingly, it was Gu Lin and Annie.

"Long time no see, Pei Ze."

After they met in the main hall, Gu Lin greeted him with a smile.

Back then, Gu Lin and Annie had returned to Chenxi City just before Red Maple City went into lockdown.

So, it had been nearly half a year since they last saw each other.

Annie sized Pei Ze up and down, a peculiar glint flashing in her red eyes.

"It’s been half a year, and you’ve gotten much stronger again. You’ve already broken through to the second-level liquefaction, haven’t you?"

Hearing this, Gu Lin’s eyes widened as she stared at Pei Ze, asking in astonishment, "You broke through again?"

Seeing Pei Ze nod with a smile, the young woman’s lips twitched, and she was left speechless.

’She, a Level 1 Wizard, hadn’t even reached the liquefaction stage, while Pei Ze, a Second-level Wizard, had already passed it.’

’What’s more, he had advanced to Second-level Wizard more recently than she had advanced to her own rank.’

’Comparing yourself to others is truly infuriating!’

’This guy is a monster!’

"Is there something you came to see me about?" Pei Ze changed the subject. "You didn’t come all this way just to visit, did you?"

Gu Lin came back to her senses at that, casting a complicated look at Pei Ze before saying, "I came to say goodbye. I’m preparing to go on a planar journey with Annie."

Pei Ze was stunned for a moment, a look of astonishment on his face.

Many Wizards undertook planar travel, but most were Elemental Mages or Bloodline Wizards, and the weakest among them were at least Level 3 Wizards.

For a Level 1 Wizard to go on a planar journey was far too dangerous.

If they had bad luck and ran into a powerful, malicious native from another plane, they could very well lose their life.

But then Pei Ze looked at Annie beside her, and his brow slowly relaxed.

’If she was going with Annie, that was another matter entirely.’

’Although Annie had never shown her hand, Pei Ze guessed she was at least a Sixth-level Wizard, possibly even a Rule Wizard who had grasped Rule Power.’

’With such a powerful expert protecting her, as long as Gu Lin didn’t court death by provoking a Divine Spirit-level existence, she wouldn’t have to worry about anything happening to her.’

"Have you decided where you’re going?" Pei Ze asked.

"The Flame Spirit Plane." Gu Lin glanced at Annie. "Annie said it’s a civilized plane that reveres the fire element. It should be a great help in increasing my strength."

Pei Ze nodded in understanding.

’Gu Lin was already skilled in Fire Element Magic and had a high affinity for the fire element, so it was normal for her to develop in that direction.’

’He just didn’t know if this plane was Annie’s original next destination, or if she had chosen it specifically for Gu Lin.’

’If it was the latter, then Annie was taking very good care of Gu Lin.’

Pei Ze glanced impassively at Annie. The Vampire Wizard was leisurely sipping the black tea brought to her by a Nymph.

’He’d felt for a while now that Annie seemed to hold Gu Lin in special regard, though he didn’t know why.’

’Was it just because Gu Lin’s blood tasted good?’

’Pei Ze refused to believe it was that simple.’

’But no matter what, Annie wouldn’t harm Gu Lin.’

’Otherwise, with her power, she wouldn’t need to go to such lengths if she really wanted to harm Gu Lin.’

Pushing aside his stray thoughts, Pei Ze said with a smile, "In that case, I wish you a pleasant journey."

"Thank you," Gu Lin said, pressing her lips together.

After saying goodbye to Pei Ze and walking out of the mansion, Gu Lin stopped and looked back, her expression unreadable.

"What’s wrong? Can’t bear to leave?" Annie asked with a slight smile.

"I am a little reluctant," Gu Lin admitted frankly this time. She let out a breath, her expression becoming firm again. "But even more, I don’t want to fall too far behind him."

Annie smiled and said, "It’s good to have conviction. Planar travel is not easy. Those without conviction will never be able to persevere."

...

「Ten days later.」

Tao Ping finally came to the mansion again, and he brought the promised Netherworld Crows with him.

"Lord Pei Ze, there are a total of two hundred Netherworld Crows here. You may count them."

Pei Ze took the Magic Bag, opened it for a look, and nodded with a smile after confirming the contents were correct.

"The number is correct. Thank you for your trouble."

"You’re too kind. Satisfying our clients’ needs is our duty."

Tao Ping smiled faintly, paused, and then added:

"Also, regarding what you mentioned before about the whereabouts of a Netherworld Crow flock, our organization happens to have precise intelligence."

Pei Ze’s eyes lit up instantly. "And the price?" he asked.

Tao Ping said with a grin, "The intelligence on the Netherworld Crow flock is three-star grade, priced at eighty-five hundred Magic Stone Coins. However, we can give you a twenty percent discount and charge you only sixty-eight hundred Magic Stone Coins."

"Deal," Pei Ze agreed without a second thought.

After the Magic Stone Coins were paid, Tao Ping cleared his throat and slowly began, "One of the Wizards from our organization once traveled to the Shadow Realm to gather materials. By a fortunate coincidence, he discovered a flock of Netherworld Crows there, with a preliminary estimate of no less than a thousand."

’No less than a thousand!’

Pei Ze was instantly overjoyed. ’If he devoured all of them, Wuyu’s power would surely skyrocket!’

’But then again, why the Shadow Realm again?’
